Poor value for money

Because of how our flight times fell, we stayed for two nights at the Novotel Airport Hotel. For our purposes, it was fine--comfortable and easy to get to after a long flight. But this is not the hotel I would choose for any reason other than proximity to the airport: like many big hotels, it is not the best value for your money. We were charged for wireless Internet; breakfast and room service was overpriced; getting into town was a pain. In short, this hotel serves its purpose, but nothing more.

Beautiful entry, very friendly staff, great rooms Asked for a smoking room but couldn't find an ashtray anywhere so went outside to smoke. Also it would be nice if it had a balcony. We had a horror flight from Phuket to Bangkok due to poor weather and rough turbulence so we were a bit shaken up when we landed in Bangkok. It was the first time we had ever been to Bangkok but finding the Novotel counter at the airport was easy and the staff arranged for a minibus to take us to the hotel straight away. Initially when we got to Bangkok we planned to leave our baggage in the room and go and explore Bangkok's nightlife but when we reached our room all we wanted to do was to have a long hot bath, some dinner and kick back, relax and watch a movie. The room was so comfortable and my husband was so happy to see a complementary razor since he left his at home and didn't shave for a week! Our stay at the Novotel was a great experience especially as it was the last day of our honeymoon and after the terrible flight to Bangkok!
Hotel Feature Tip : The room service was very fast and the food was fantastic! Also, all the light switches are on the telephone so you can turn them all off from the bedside (we spend 10 minutes searching for the physical switches around the room!!

Very comfortable, nice to have a good smoking area in the bar. Very quiet in the bar area Very pleasant as a transit hotel although very quiet in the bar area so was a bit lonely as there was nobody to talk to. The bed was very comfortable and the room large and comfortable, mini bar prices very high, staff were very pleasant and helpful.

great location for airport hotel is in a great location if you are staying there before onward flights. accommodation is perfectly good, good room service which is always a help after a long flight. facilities are all good. a bus will pick you up from airport and drop you to the hotel free of charge and seems to run frequently.

Location, great breakfast Weird shower configuration, cost The location can't be beat, but the cost is a bit high for the hotel. The shuttle service was timely and friendly. The shower has a strange "v" configuration which makes it impossible to get under the water without bumping up against the metal "v" repeatedly. Not sure if that was related to my height or not. The room was clean. I was disappointed about not being able to book a spa appointment. I went to the spa to see the menu, asked if they had availability and then said I was going to my room and would be right back. By the time I got back in 5 minutes, they had booked my spot so I couldn't get a treatment. I ended up getting a bath but it wasn't what I wanted after a long trip from the US. The breakfast buffet is amazing and staff is always friendly and kind.

Must go to and from by bus. I arrived on time. The Novotel desk was unmanned. It was about 10 minutes before anyone arrived. I went by bus, there is no walkway. The reception had no record of my reservation. Checkin took 10 minutes as they had to call Agoda. The next day my door lock mechanism broke and I waited for an hour in the corridor for entry to the room. They were unable to fix it and I had to move to another room. Check out was uneventful. The staff are reasonably courteous but cannot deal with unusual circumstances. There is no alternative to the hotel at the airport and the monoply is not a good thing. They need a walkway to the hote.
Travel tip : I don't have time for this. There are few opportunities near the hotel.

BEAUTIFUL ROOMS, LOVELY POOL, A FEELING OF QUALITY THROUGHOUT This hotel was a real surprise for my wife and I.We flew in late , overnighting prior to a morning flight to Laos .It is actually worthy of a longer stay. Our room was large with quality fittings throughout and overlooking a beautiful internal garden. Buffet breakfast covered an extensive range of both Western and Asian foods. Right next to the Airport with a frequent shuttle service. Very courteous and helpful staff. Will be back

Convenient to the airport with a free shuttle to and from the terminal. Spacious rooms and excellent gym and spa services. If you stay for more than one day you feel very far from anything, shops, the city and other restaurants. Internet is expensive. I use the Novotel alot for catching very early flights out of Thailand. The staff in the business center are very pleasant and the gym is one of the best at any hotel. The food at the 3 restaurants is good and the hotel works well for setting up an overnight office in your room which has a desk and wifi if you have a laptop.
Hotel Feature Tip : Unwind in the fitness center: gym, pool and suna and steam.

Good restaurants - prices not over the top. Good hotel for a stop over if you are just traveling via BKK airport. Too far out of CBD for any tourism ect. Very helpful staff and great restaurant at a good price. Recommended

Great experience all round. Fantastic room, great staff and service, arrived late on a 1 night stop with my 6 yr old daughter and too much luggage! And every need was catered for. The staff even gave my daughter a teddy bear on arrival. Stayed in executive suite, maybe that made the difference, but a great service all round, lot's of help and free pesonal transfer back to the airport. Could not have been better. As previously stated we had a difficult stop over, arriving late and just for one night. We were picked up on arrival by a personal driver and all our baggage and us were whisked off to the hotel extremely pleasantly by very helpful staff. We were given a personal checkin service, and every need was catered for. I can personally recommend the in house spa, where I had the opportunity of a late night unwinding massage before retiring . Altogether I felt the staff to be honest, entirely trustworthy, and extremely helpful. It is not easy to travel as a single parent and the service offered by novotel was second to none in easing this challenging stop over.

Very agreeable architecture, excellent service, quiet despite closeness to airport, romantic swimming pool with bar service. Good quality of food when meeting friends from Bangkok. Service in restaurant professional and friendly. Very short distance to departure area Too loud music in bar area, temperature in restaurant a bit too cool.
Light in the rooms too dark. Reading a book under the standing lamp was practically impossibe, writing a letter on the writing desk was barely possible because of inadequate light conditions. Novotel Suvarnabhumi is a very good place to start a long distance flight. Starting from Bangkok downtown to the airport may take 2 hours,from Jomtien beach (like in our case)even 3 hours, prolonging an intercontinental flight considerably.

next to airport
rooms great second time i have stayed in this hotel twice now. the only reason you would stay here is if you have an early flight the next morning, looking for a day room or only in Bangkok for a short time. Located next to the airport, shuttles every few minutes. Rooms large and clean, breakfast good. Massive hotel, no issues, new and modern.

PRICE OF MINI BAR, PAY MOVIES MY TV WAS MAKING A TERRIBLE NOISE SO I COULD NOT EVEN HEAR THE FILM PROPERLY/ Pick up from airport is easy and stress free, after a long flight it would be nice to have the option of stretching your legs though. check in is a lovely place but almost to many staff trying to help you, sometimes you just want to be left alone. I asked for a smoking room and it was huge and very well apointed exept the tv could do with having more english channels hence i purchased pay tv at a high cost. Tv then made a loud buzzing noise and could not here movie very well, at least when i told the reception in the morning they did not bill me. As others mentioned if you can take your own food and drink in and put that in the mini bar you will save yourself a lot of money!! there are many shops at airport that sell beer and drinks at good cost. As others have said the swimming pool is fantastic. overall i would stay again.

Great service, beautiful pool, and amazing spa treatment. Food selection for room service The hotel is well located, right at the airport. The service is outstanding. The hotel was clean and there was diversity in terms of restaurants. The pool is breath taking and the sport center well equiped. It was great to have the opportunity to have spa treatment in the room.
