The Oakwood is primarily a hotel providing apartment style temporary corporate accommodation. I stayed in the basic suite which was nicely equipped and certainly large enough for one person. The kitchen area was very well equipped including a full size fridge and clothes washer/dryer. A good size LCD TV, DVD and Stereo System for in room entertainment was included. The bathroom fixtures were modern and the shower was great with good water pressure. The bed was very comfortable with a duvet that was great. The furniture was modern, but already showing some wear. They seem to have a large number of rooms for smokers, but although I was not on a “non smoking” floor, there was only the odd time when I could smell cigarette smoke wafting into my room…so tolerable. Apparently only two of their eight floors are designated non smoking…floors 1&2. For a new property, the carpets were already stained and appeared soiled. The location is very good although there is construction going on next door and walking down the sidewalk on Soi 24 can be challenging. Overall, the staff was quite helpful and congenial, but it appeared that the room cleaning personnel were not as diligent as they should have been. No major issues, but a number of smaller details that normally are caught. Proximity to shopping, movies and the BTS is very good. In my suite, the air conditioner was located on the wall that faced the bed and so the cold air blows directly onto the bed which I found unpleasant. Also the sophisticated AC remote control unit can be confusing for North Americans who are used to working with wall thermostats. My biggest problem (and the one that will likely keep me from using this hotel again) was the cost for Internet access. 428Baht or $14CAD per day is excessive. This is reduced only if you stay for more than 5 days at which time you can choose the 30 day plan. Most hotels in Bangkok offer free Internet these days…and there are so many to choose from.
Location – close to many attractions.
New – contemporary style and fixtures.
Rooftop pool.
Cordial staff.
On site security.
Excessive fee for Internet.
Carpeting instead of laminate or hardwood.
No bathtub.
Air conditioner location.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you will be in Bangkok for a while, buy the BTS Smart Pass for daily commuting. Both the Skytrain and their underground systems are great ways to move around the city. Take the BTS to the end of the Silom line and hop on an Express Ferry for a cruise down the river. It’s a great way to experience some of the unique character of this marvelous city and the cost is cheap. You can also get to a number of the major attractions this way.

I could enjoy staying in Bangkok with this hotel very much. Within few minites by walk, you can find any shop for your fun, such as many thai, french, italian, chinese and japanese restaurant, thai massage, big shopping department. Also, you can get BTM station Phrompon by 3-min. walk. It will take to you to the center of Bangkok with 5-10min. ride.
I can really recommend this hotel for everyone. The staff performance was excellent. Room design and cleanniness was also beautifull.
Good location
Noise coming from next door.
- Shopping Tip : Emporium shopping department store is located by 2-min. walk.

I like the fact that the hotel is small and can only take limited guests. I also like the fact that the property was recently refurbished.
It is also literally a 5 minute walk to Phrom Phong skytrain station and to Emporium Mall.
The hotel is a nice, small and recently refurbished property done up to a clean and modern style.
Limited food selection in hotel restaurant and a very small gym.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There is a huge seafood restaurant about 50 meters away from the hotel and offers an exotic array of seafood. There is also a nice family spa across the road.

Room is clean and most of function is ok. But air conditioner locates opposite side of bed and cool wind directly come to bed. Wind direction/temperature/timer can't chage and only control on/off...
If switch on, it's freezing. If off, getting hot soon. I couldn't speep when all night long.
Very new and clean.
Difficult to find out entrance.

I lived there for 5 days. I like the washing machine very much. I think I need not bring too many clothes for travelling next time as I can wash my clothes in the room every day. The cooking utensils are excellent, more than I have in my room.
well furnished eg washing machine, cooking utensil; good location
small swimming pool
Oakwood BKK is good.
