Pinnacle Lumpini - Still the best deal going Guest Rating: 3.7

I drive to Bangkok about once a month and I always stay at the Pinnacle Lumpini because it has great access to the freeways, it is clean, has good service, ample parking and great rooms for the price. The immediate neighborhood is not great, but it is near Pat Pong, the lumpini boxing stadium, the Suan Lum night bazaar, and only a five to ten minute walk from the MRT (subway) which connects to the BTS (skytrain) and between the two you can get to nearly anywhere in town you want to go. The recent remodel has made the hotel even a better deal, however, they didn't replace the room carpets and the one I had this time, though clean enough, was stained and worn badly. The TV channels include an in-house movie channel (says 24 hour) but always stops around ten p.m., ESPN, And BBC all in English. They used to have an English language channel (AXN) that shows series but it was just a black screen in my room this time. All in all, a great place for the price.

Recently remodeled, good service, clean, and good deal for the money.

Location not perfect, though not too bad. Room carpeting stained, could use replacement. Food not the best.

Pinnacle Lumpini - Better than ever Guest Rating: 3.8

The Pinnacle Lumpini has always been a good deal for the price but since the remodel it is exceptional for anyone who doesn't mind being out of the main tourist areas of Bangkok. A plus for boxing fans and shoppers is that the Lumpini boxing stadium is only a block away and one of the biggest night markets in town is right across the street.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Patpong, Lumpini stadium, Lumpini park, Suan Lum night market.

Great Value Guest Rating: 4.3

Overall excellent value for money, the buffet breakfast has something for everyone's taste.

• Restaurant Tip : There's a small Chinese restaurant in the same soi, serving excellent dumplings. In the main street there is a duck stall serving excellent duck and rice for 30 baht.

Silom Road and Lumpinee Park are both within easy walking distance of the hotel. Lumpinee Park is a green oasis and a great place to go to get away from the traffic. 7-11 is everywhere in Thailand and just around the corner from the hotel. You'll find everything from the tiny street stall to Starbuck's and Boot's within 5 minutes walk of the hotel.

• Nightlife Tip : A night bazaar is located just on the opposite side of busy Rama IV street.

The close proximity to Lumpini Park, the night market there and the MRT subway station makes this a nice spot. Not far from the Patpong night market and Silom, either.

This hotel is nice to stay for couple of nights in Bangkok. Not so many classy restaurants near there but could go anywhere by taxi from there with pennies. (If you don't meet taxi drivers who want to rip you off.)
