this hotel is reasonably cheap and breakfast is the usual buffet, not too bad. there is a pool and a small gym which are not too bad. that is all the good stuff. had a problem with the shower, water not draining away, problem was common to entire floor and was not fixed.
Hotel Feature Tip:
close to mrt train station.

Reasonably priced, but poor location
4.7
Not a great location, nothing around it. Would definitely not recommend for a solo traveller. Most staff were friendly, except the front of house staff. They were blunt and seemed to be easily confused.

Nice and decent for travelling
the location is reachable and the room is neat
7.3
I was comfortable stay in this hotel. The location's very easy to find and you can also access public transportation (such as MRT, BTS, or taxi)easily. The room is neat and clean. Wifi connection help me to access information and connecting with my family on blackberry messenger so i dont have to switch my number to thai number.
Hotel staff was nice but not informative because their english isn't good. Actually most of thai people (even the public officer) not so good with their english, it could be a problem when we have a question about direction or place.

not a very nice area but ok location for silom there are much nicer hotels around for similar or even cheaper. close to metro though taxis are cheaper if you are two or more to local area.
breakfast is ok but nothing special and bland tasting, would look for another hotel next time i was visiting bangkok.

Convenient location with a good breakfast buffet.
Small swimming pool on the roof, good breakfast buffet, free (if erratic) Wi-Fi in rooms, good price point

I have stayed here before, and returned again because I was unable to identify a comparable alternative at this price point which offers this standard of accommodation at such a central location with a good breakfast buffet. The room was spotlessly clean and the beds very comfortable. The outside of the hotel looks a bit dated, but it is perfectly OK inside. The bathrooms are also dated (even though I read that they had been recently refurbished) but they are perfectly OK: the cleaning crew does a super job on them daily. Only quibbles I have with this hotel are (a) that the internet connection kept dropping; and the "fitness room" was somewhat sparcely kitted out with ancient equipment. But these are minor reservations. Will definitely stay here again at current prices.
Restaurant Tip:
Had the best Thai Green Curry I have ever tasted in 15 years of travelling in Thailand at a small cafe called Moon in Soi Si Bamphen (about 5 minutes walk away - directly opposite the Ibis Hotel. And only THB60. Best value and best cooked food in that area by far.

Great Room, Excellent Loction, Helpful Staff
8.3
the room is very nice even at the economy level. can't beat the location next to the subway across the street from lumpinee park, night market, thai boxing exhibition center and close to the main part of town. the pool and health club on the roof are nice. staff is very helpful in solving travelers problems. the block they are on has everything from banks, tailor, barber shop and more. this is my 3rdtime here.

Great find
Location and cleanliness ...absolutely loved it.

Travelling on a budget is tough as a lot of the time you end up in flea bag places. This hotel is a diamond in the rough. Loved it and the balcony where I bought fruit down the street and ate it with wine and greek cheese on the balcony in the scorching hot afternoon. The room was sparse but very clean and quite comfortable. I was more than satisfied. The shower ( very european ) was so small ..but have gotten used to that as its the same all over Europe. The staff turned me on to a fabulous local place to eat and I was in pig heaven everyday. Close to the subeway it was a haven to come home to everyday after seeing the sites of Athens.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Great location, easy to get to from the subway and even though its a bit shabby of a neighbourhood it was not at all dangerous.
