I recommend this hotel. Very cheap hotel, and very central.
Comfortable hotel, very clean, good staff, not noisy, and the cheapest hotel.

- Shopping Tip : Hotel is not very far from Jim Thompson shop, and good restaurant like Hong Kong House. And not very far from the station subway of "Sala Daeng".

From my room at 8th floor able to see the full view of bangkok city.

This is not the first time I'm staying at Plaza Hotel. Reasons why is the hotel is very strategic located shopping at Silom road, night market at Patpong and the night life at Patpong and Suriwongse road. Friendly staffs , fast check in for internet bookings ( I've experience having trouble with other hotel)Room rateas are reasonable.
Easy access to shopping centers, night markets and nightlife.
Rooms are clean and big.

- Restaurant Tip : There's a food stall at the ally near Salaedang station which offer very good food at a reasonable price. Another one at Covent road which offers very good soup and thai salads.
Practicality is synonymous with The Plaza Hotel

Considering that diversity of guests the hotel has, all frontliner personnel should really learn to speak english..
- Shopping Tip : If you love shopping, tuktok drivers can drive you around souvenir shops in the city with a minimal fee as low as 10 Bahtt. This is because they earn coupons equivalent to free gasolines whenever you are taken to one shop.

I always stay here when in Bangkok....I think with a must have total renovation this hotel can profit as its location is excellent, close to trains as well as the city center.
- Restaurant Tip : The hotel restaurant is very good and cheap, good Thai food.

It is good to just put up a night or two. Not more than that! The staff performance is so-so. Besides, you will be charged additional 800 baht for late check-out request. During my stay, I was having a meeting with customer and I could not come back before 1 pm. I called back to the hotel to request for late check-out before 2 pm. However, the staff did not allow and requested to pay 800 baht for any extension.
- Nightlife Tip : The hotel is near Patpong/Silom Road.
