Old hotel which needs an update

We stayed at the hotel as it was close to Funarium Play centre where we spent one day with the kids. The hotel has a great pool (set of 3 pools) for younger kids. The play ground was also ok, but equipment is old and needs some repair. The rooms are very old - and smell. I think that there is mold in the air conditioning system. The air conditioner system could not be adjusted, so it was either cold or off. The staff were friendly, but not overly helpful. The whole hotel needs an update - although the rooms are huge (Junior Suite) they are very dated in the 1970s decor with smelly curtains, carpet etc. I am not sure that we would stay here again - we are regular travellers through Bangkok.
