Old hotel which needs an update

We stayed at the hotel as it was close to Funarium Play centre where we spent one day with the kids. The hotel has a great pool (set of 3 pools) for younger kids. The play ground was also ok, but equipment is old and needs some repair. The rooms are very old - and smell. I think that there is mold in the air conditioning system. The air conditioner system could not be adjusted, so it was either cold or off. The staff were friendly, but not overly helpful. The whole hotel needs an update - although the rooms are huge (Junior Suite) they are very dated in the 1970s decor with smelly curtains, carpet etc. I am not sure that we would stay here again - we are regular travellers through Bangkok.

Very nice staff, except for the lobby-staff. Shuttle to the BTS was very convenient and breakfast was superb!

We had chosen this hotel because we thought it was centrally located, which was not true. A free shuttle to the BTS was a great help. We stayed for eleven days of which 5 days WITHOUT internet. This was a pity since I need internet for my work. The way in which the lobby-staff reacted to this problem was very, very poor: I was not used to work with computers (it's now 23 years I work with pc!), so I was to blame! They finally admitted internet had broken down.

President Park is really overpriced for what it is. The Davis Hotel across the street is an order of magnitude better for slightly less per night (as are a number other hotels in the area like the Dream, 5, etc). It reminds me of serviced apartments or old hotels in former Soviet states. Everything is kind of run down and worn out, and the build quality was not that good to begin with. Every channel on the TV was fuzzy or didn't come in at all. They safe in the room was broken. I tried to use the steam room, sauna and hot tub they . To add insult to injury, the facility is even more run down than the hotel - half the treadmills had torn belts, the wood in the sauna was blackened and splintering, and the ceiling in several spots was moldy or literally falling down. The hot tub had an opaqueish grey hue to it. Bangkok his probably the best value for money in the luxury hotel segment of any place in the world. This is not one of them.

Good clean hotel in good location. The price we paid on Agoda for a family (2 bedroom) room was great. The room was large and comfortable. Unfortunately, there was little natural light in the living areas for the room we were allocated. The only windows were in the bedrooms which made the living areas and bathroom permanently dark.
The location is great. Acecss to both Rama 4 and Sukhumvit. The hotel has a Tuk Tuk where they will drive you to the Emporium shopping centre on Sukhumvit free of charge.
Breakfast buffet is modest and just sufficient. There is the ability to get any type of egg dish cooked for you at your request.
The only downside was the concierge attempting to look after his taxi driver mates on departure. I had to insist for a taxi where I could pay the meter price instead of a fixed price.
