Large rooms, well cleaned and helpful staff
At the very end of Soi 11
We have stayed at the solitaire on several occasions and do enjoy it, rooms are very large and well equipped. However, we do find the beds a little soft for our liking.

Large spacious rooms, great staff
The Solitaire offer some huge rooms, maybe even too big! It can be a long walk to the bathroom during the night! We found the beds a little soft and lumpy, not really the 5 star quality you expect but the rooms are cleaned well every day.

location and size of rooms and bathroom
Rooms looking a little jaded
This was my second visit as I enjoyed my first stay and find the location excellent. Those who complain of the walk to Sukhumvit nust lose the use of their legs when they go on holiday and anyway there is a free tuk tuk to Nana station and Robinsons for the lazy. This time round however
I thought my room looked a little tired. It seems to be the way of the President group of hotels that they build a nice hotel but do not keep on top of things. The bedspread was particularly unsightly. The room itself is large as is bathroom and there was ample closet space. And very importantly it was quiet
I liked the pool which never seemed to be busy or maybe I was just lucky in the times I went
I will reurn to the hotel but by no means is it so good that it has become my default Bangkok hotel. My search for that continues

Location, friendly staff and room sizes and furnishings.
I actually hadn't planned to stay at this hotel rather had booked through Agoda the Amari Boulevard hotel. This is no reflection on the President Solitaire rather just wanted to try the Amari again and see if it had improved.
Well I didn't exactly get to try it as when I tried to book in they told me they had no rooms ( despite and confirmed reservation through Agoda) and offered to take me to a sister hotel across town which I didn't want to do.
Office manager came out and explained that they were overbooked to which I responded I have a confirmed reservation. Eventually they found me a room but it was more like a broom closet and not the standard I had booked. So I rang Agoda who immediately canceled the booking and got me a reservation at President Solitaire and did all this with no cancellation charges.
Great service.
When I checked in hassle free to President Solitaire I realised I should have just booked there from beginning. Once you find a hotel you like.. stay with it.
Full marks to president Solitaire and fuller marks to Agoda..Agoda even called hotel to make them aware I was only 5 minutes away.
I booked Platinum Suite which is nice but prefer actually Solitaire suite as Platinum suite has bath which is a bit of a equestrian event to get into while Solitaire has great walk in shower.

President Solitaire Hotel - Very nice hotel... room was very well decorated and facilities are excellent. The furnishing is excellent. Big flat screen TV in my room. Free internet. A small boutique 5 star hotel. Will stay again in the future. Need taxi to get around. There a shop close by to get basic necessities...

Hotel provide you free ride to main Sukhamvit street
they do not offer break fast when booked through Agoda, where as the same is offered to Asia rooms.
Secondly location is little off
Nice comfortabel experience . The room is fitted with all the neccasary equipment and one feels like home. Hotel staff is courteous and are ready to serve you
Nightlife Tip : Taxi people are more than willing to help you

Large clean suites, friendly staff.
Probably our best stay during our recent Thailand visit and excellent value for money. The hotel is located within 5 minutes walking distance to Sukumvit road and basically in the middle of all night and day life. Very friendly staff and clean and well maintained, large suites. Probably among the best deals in terms of value for money one can get. Definitely will go there again on the next stay.

Good location. Fri shuttle transport to Robinson's and Nana BTS station was excellent. Distance to station was acceptable even by walk.
I had no feeling of 5 stars hotel. Worn furniture. Old jacuzzi.
Calm area in the city of Bangkok. Suitable for families or for anybody who likes a bit silent area.

Location - for those who like BKKs nightlife. Large room with king size bed. Large plasma TV.
Feels just a tad dated, but enough to bother anyone. Our room was noisy, in the sense that we heard people in the hallway a few times which was annoying. But could have been a one-time thing.
This hotel is a good deal for anyone young who want to be located in the center of BKKs nightlife. The President Group (who owns a number of hotels around this area) are generally pretty good deals. They also have an electric car that will shuttle you to Nana BTS, or Robinson department store on Soi 17. Their king size bed was comfortable. Overall, I'd stay here again.

The spacious room and small kitchen were very convenient in making you feel like you were home.
The big LCD TV and bathroom were making the stay here worthwhile.
The receptionist on our arrival was a bit rude acting as if we were from another planet.
After she finally recognized the voucher from Agoda was real she changed her demeanor for the better.
The staff was quite accommodating and attended to your every reasonable wish in a professional manner. The security guard and bellhops provided an additional comfort by being attentive and friendly, making you feel part of a family.
I will definitely return to this hotel on my next visit to Bangkok.
One negative aspect is the food in the restaurant which serves food that is not up to the high standard of the accommodation.
Restaurant Tip : A German bar nearby that serves excellent draft beer as well as german cuisine.
A few hotels in the area offer excellent buffet cuisine at reasonable prices.

spacious room with great facilities.
everything is great but the massive traffic jam around the location of the hotel.
Overall good experience staying at President solitaire, room facilities is great, spacious, staff is helpful and at least they can communicate in English. Walking distance to food, massage center, pub, disco everything around the corner, very convenience if you don't intend to travel far from the hotel. will definitely consider staying at the same hotel if travel back to Bangkok again.
Nightlife Tip : a lot of entertainment center is just around the corner.

Service seems to have gone downhill / breakfast not what it used to be.
The President Solitaire has always to me been a good hotel with great staff. However this stay I started to notice changes.
1) There are a lot of new staff.
2) The breakfast which previously was always good was only average this time.
3) Little things like trying to overcharge for a soiled towel etc.
To be fair to the hotel I did fall asleep with a glass of red wine in hand which ended up on the towel I had on and yes under these circumstances I would expect to be charged for the towel but USD 20 for a towel. Anyway after telling the duty manager this they reduced it to USD10.00 which I was happy about.
I wonder if the changes are related to possible cutbacks as I noticed in the Bangkok Post while I was there that the President Group had defaulted on loans.
I do hope this hotel can look after its staff and get back to what it was before. Its a tough time for the travel industry in Thailand and some of the 5 star hotels had occupancy as l, now as 30% while I was there.
Hotels like the President Solitaire depend on loyalty and return business much more than say a 5 star international name brand hotel so here's hoping they can keep their service levels and client base.
Restaurant Tip : Great little Italian restaurant around the corner called Mama Mia's.

Large and very comfortable rooms. Seperate shower and bath Quiet location
A little slow cleaning up my room on a couple of ocasions
The President Solitaie is great value for money in the center of Bangkok. The staff are excellent, from reception to concierge to the doorman. I feel like I am at home there and will stay there again soon. The Tuk Tuk service to the main road is a great feature. Lastly, i will continue to recommend this hotel to my friends that visit Bangkok
Travel tip : Several great restaurants within walking distance
