Close to the river and free river taxi. Wonderful restaurant location. Food nothing special and pricey. Not much of interest outside hotel on foot. I enjoyed my stay and the river taxi was found to be a very convenient way to get around. The breakfast had good selection and location, but none of the food was of great quality. Aiport transport was a bit pricey. Not much nightlife within walking from hotel. The bed was a bit hard and pillows very big which left me with a neck ache the third night. For other river hotels, i would say this is a good deal, especially if you don't plan onspending much time in/around the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the river taxi (free) to the central peir where you can get a day pass on the tourist river taxi for 120 baht. This lets you see the grand palace, reclining buddha, Khao San, etc. at your own pace and is very easy to get off on one pier and walk to sites and get on at another pier.

personal very nice and lovely breakfast taste like old mc Donald food and why is it so expensive ? the hotel is very nice located, boat transfer to the city is free :) really very nice hotel but please change the breakfast menu because thats really bad. everything else TOP ! thank you for the nice staying

illuminated and well decorated Christmas tree in the pool area.excellent pool area. the spa area was not comfortable and for this too expensive. it is a good location to stay in bangkok,easy going to all places you like with a comfortable boat shuttle to sky train station with excellent services(start7,00 end 23.00).you can achieve any place in bangkok and avoid stress.
i was disappointed from the doorman and the concierge because they pushed me to overpriced taxis and shopping tours which they arranged with the drivers,even i told them i like a metered taxi.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : have a Thai massage in wat po.

Nice Riverside Hotel with free River Boat taxi to the main street.
Lobby, Reception,pool and surroundings seem to be a bit modern. Room layout is weird, you enter and the toilet greets you, the sink is separate and is what you first see when entering your room, It like an open plan theme.
Breakfast is not on a 5-star standard, more on 3 star one not a lot of selections.
Concierge seems to sell you private taxi, tourist spots etc.. All i was asking for was a local map, and requested for a metered taxi. The hotel is good five star on arrival, but seems to go down, when seeing the room layout and breakfast..Four star would probably be the best description.
Taxis does not seem to know where this hotel is. Always bring the hotel address with you.
Hotel Feature Tip : Restaurants outside the Hotel is non existing, unless you like Indian Food as there is one just outside the hotel.
Local massage parlors, was great the best, there are four of them outside the hotel, Foot Massage starts from 180 - 250Baht, and body massage from 400-500baht.
You have to take a cab if you want to go to a restaurant, or the opt for the Hotel restaurant. Can't say if it is good though, as never experienced it, only had breakfast it was Ok. Seen much better from other Five star Hotels.

Everything inside is too expensive. As a large 5 star, perfect treatment on arrival, clean room, but restaurant very expensive for the quality. We felt very bad after dinner, maybe the fish was not fresh.
The room is clean and large, the housekeeping was slow and not so perfect. Better wake up early in the morning if there are meetings in the hotel. Too many persons in the room.

Could not get an airport pick-up. On the riverside, the best way to visit or go shopping in Bangkok. You just have to take the hotel boat. Very chic hotel for the price. Very good restaurant with various à la carte menu and delicious buffet. Nice terrace view on the river. Recommanded to everybody!
Travel tip : Very easy for shopping or visiting the city with the boat and the Skytrain.

Situation, chambre (confort et propreté), aménagements divers. Bruits des travaux.
Piscine un peu trop froide. Malgré les avis négatifs de certains, nous avons quand même réservé cet hôtel. Nous avions choisi une chambre Deluxe avec vue rivière mais lorsque nous sommes arrivés (assez tard), l'hôtel était complet et nous avons dès lors été "upgradés" (toujours en Deluxe mais à l'Executive floor).Le personnel est charmant (pour peu qu'on prenne la peine d'être polis et gentils avec eux également). La chambre était super et leur service de navette (ancien bateau en bois) est très plaisant. Seul petit bémol, cet hôtel devient, en septembre 2008, un hôtel de la chaîne RAMADA et de ce fait, quelques travaux d'aménagement sont en cours, ce qui engendre du bruit (pendant la journée heureusement), aussi bien dans les couloirs des chambres qu'à l'extérieur près de la piscine.

Food, service, accomodation, pool, and luggage storage. Construction work, doorman calling a non-metred taxi although metered requested. We had a fabulous stay at the Menam. We had been there before and remembered the wonderful food and the cocktails. We hope that construction work will soon be completed. We like the way our luggage can be cloaked when we arrive early from Australia. Also we enjoyed the fact that we could access our room earlier than expected. The staff were efficient and service was excellent.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Restaurant at the Navy headquarters is great value.

The standard of this hotel is excellent...well managed and well maintained. Location is a bit out of the way but the shuttle boat to the sky train solves that. This is a really good hotel on the banks of the river in Bangkok. Even on the hottest days in Bangkok you always get a breeze along the river which makes a huge difference. The hotel is well run and deserves every star that it has achieved. Breakfast buffet is as good as you would get anywhere.This hotel really impressed me and I look forward to my next visit.
Hotel Feature Tip : The pool at the hotel is well maintained and a refreshing relief after a day in the city.

man muss sich in bangkok ein bisschen vor "schleppern" in acht nehmen. es wird einem eine fahrt (taxi, tuk-tuk) für kleines geld angeboten, man wird dann aber nicht gleich zum gewünschten ort gefahren, sondern erstmal zu irgendwelchen schneidern, taschenverkäufern etc. wehrt man sich dagegen, drücken sie auf die tränendrüse. also besser ablehnen und ein wenig mehr bezahlen, es sind cent-beträge. achtung! dies wird auch von hotelangestellten angeboten.
Nightlife Tip : scirocco bar im dome, q-bar, bed supper club

location, breakfast at the river We liked our stay very much. The hotel is very well located at the river. The breakfast at the river is a real highlight. To travel by boat is very easy and we recommend to travel around by boat. It's fast, easy and cheap. We have been several times in the hotel.
