Good location, decent rooms
Hotel Royal is an old hotel in a very good location in Bangkok. It is close to Phayataya train station from the airport, Khaosan road and close to the old temples and the river piers. Dont expect luxury but it is a good value for money if you book the deluxe room.

Great location.
Location. Pool. breakfast.
Very comfortable stay. We booked 2 rooms because of the number of adults in our group. Rooms were comfortable. Not far from the Grand Palace, Khao San road and the river. Hotel can be busy in the morning and at check-out time with bus load of tourists coming and leaving. Would stay here again and I would recommend it.

Good value for Money
Good location, good staff, great buffet breakfast, clean rooms. It's not a 5 star but never promised to be - what it is good value for money

Disappointed
The hotel, on appearance for both internet and physical, is nice in what seems to be a convenient location. Upon arrival, there were at least twenty prostitutes outside at the front door. The side walk was covered with people trying to sell something whether it was a massage, perishable goods, souvenirs, or themselves. At checkin the clerks were numerous but lacking in ability to effectively communicate and tried to garner more passport information than needed. The facility is visibly in a severe state of disrepair. The elevators are small and inconveniently located plus working sporadically. The rooms are outdated and present multiple fire hazards to include exposed electrical wires and spiders. I was awaken in the morning with a Banana Spider on the crown molding in the room.

comfortable and good location
location, clean rooms, comfortable
Hotel is in a good location, close to Khao San Road, 7 min walk. We stayed in superior room with a 10 month baby. The room was clean and comfortable, lot of space to unpack our belongings. Bathroom was also clean. Bed was a bit small for our 3, it was 140/200cm but still for 2 or 3 days was not so tiring. Hotel has a pool but we did not used it. Breakfast was included. Variety of good food. What was bad is the thin walls and gap in the door what makes the room a bit noisy. We stayed twice in this hotel and first visit was on the last floor. Second one was on first floor. And we recommend to stay on the last as it was more quiet and has less hotel guests. We would stay again next time as it has a good relation of price and location.
