Although the location of the hotel is good as it is quite near to MBK, Siam Center, Phatunam area etc, the services rendered from the staff were poor. A counter girl just turned away from a customer's inquiry while eating porridge at the counter in the morning and thenpassed a dusty remark to her counterpart in Thai. Few staff working in the canteen on the 2nd floor talked very loudly for quite a few hours over the political issue while fewer customers were having their meal. It merely reflected that the staff are not well trained and not professional in their manner.

This place is a really good deal for those people who wants to visit Bangkok in budget,a very strategic and nice place, very near to everywhere in the city, and got BTS nearby... the room itself are cheap but clean, mostly the staff are nice, the food is good, and got a lot of things around, such as 7-11, massage place, etc .. I would like to take this hotel again if i go back to Bangkok

not all the staff is friendly, some of them are not really helpfull and some of them are rude, especially the F&B manager at 2nd Floor

• Shopping Tip : Go to Siam Square and MBK is easy since the location is near to this hotel... easy to reach!!

1) Reasonable price, Affordable to every backpackers 2) Strategic Location : 5Mins walk to Ratchadewi Station. 7Eleven just opposite the hotel. Next to the hotel, there is a massage shop too :p 3) Comfortable Stay.

At a reasonable price, Samran Hotel give a comfortable stay PLUS breakfast provided every morning (although is the same menu each day), but it is good. Strategic Location, as is only 5mins plus walk to Ratchadewi Station. Just one Station, you get to Central (MBK, Siam Discovery, Siam Centre & Siam Paragon). *Take note of Platinum Mall, I tried to walk to Platinum Mall, is not so far either... Worth staying and will choose to stay in this hotel again IF I ever go Bangkok for a visit again.

1) Should provide FREE internet service for guest instead of 10Bath per 5mins. 2) More variety of food at the Cafe/Restaurant. 3) Opposite this hotel there is a PUB, at nite quite noisy.

• Shopping Tip : Please look out for Platinum Mall and MBK. IF you like Branded: Siam Discovery, Siam Centre and Siam Paragon are there for you.

Medium hotel in Bangkok Guest Rating: 3.8

This hotel is optimum for a short stay in Bangkok. It is close to Sky Line station and this is very convenient. Also breakfast is good, even though a bit poor. The room is ok, but the fitted carpet is orrible and dirty and there is a bad smell in the air...Water free is very convenient.

The main selling point of the hotel is the location, just 5 mins walk the the Rachathewi BTS skytrain station and 15 mins walk to MBK shopping mall. If you are to shop for clothes, then the platinum mall located in pratunam is a must go palce, also just about 15 mins walk from hotel. The room is clean except we feel that the carpet might need to clean more often. Tower, soap and shampoo are provided but you need to bring along your toothbrush and toothpaste. Or you might just buy from 7/11 near the Rachathewi station. There are 2 bottles of drinking water provided as well. There are few massage shops near by, tried one just beside the hotel, no bad. Can't really compare as I didnt try others. Breakfast is ala carte with 6 choices, I like the most the fried noodle.

Clean, budget hotel. Staff are polite and helpful. Location is good.

The housekeeper forgot to replace the soap and accessories but after remind, all things are refill during housekeeping on the same day. No double bed, I have to push the single bed together with my wife.

• Shopping Tip : you can just take the skytrain to Siam, just another stop from Rachathewi station or you can walk there, about 25 mins to Siam Paragon, Siam Center. All shopping malls are there.

Good location because it is near to the skytrain around a five minute walk....and also there is a massage parlor just next to the hotel.

Samran Place is a moderate hotel, if you don't have much need for beautiful scenery, extravagant lobby with music or lavish food, then Samran is good enough. Samran explores and has a lot of collection of ethnic and antique statues, which are made of stones, marbles that are for sale. So if travelers who are interested in those than Samran is well equipped.

• Travel tip : Ratchatewi Station is just a few minutes' walk away from Samran Place Hotel and that connects you to all skytrain stations in Bangkok,the main stops for big malls are National Stadium for MBK, Sala Daeng for Patpong and Mo chit for Chatuchak (Sunday market). You can shop till you drop in MBK, SIAM all in one go, I bet you, in one day you wouldn't be able to complete the whole area. Have fun.

The hotel is really value for your money. It's a bit hard to find when you're going by taxi, especially if the driver can't speak English. But basically, not bad all in all.
