I have stayed here a few times before and will continue to do so. The breakfast is BRILLIANT and the food offered for A-La-Carte Lunch and Dinner is quite nice.
The atmosphere in the hotel is simply superb and although on the main street of bustling China Town the Hotel is totally quiet.
I love this hotel.

I stayed with my daughter in December 2012 and we chose the hotel as our base for travelling around SE Asia. We were really well looked after and will stay again the next time we're in Bangkok. We stayed in each type of room which were all designed with great attention to detail, and good value for money. The staff were very helpful, friendly and the hotel's shuttle service to MBK of course very convenient. The guide to a historical walk around Chinatown provided on our check-in was much appreciated. Great location, only a short walk to the ferry stop on the river. No complaints- if any downside at all, it was that the rooms do not have windows.
Nightlife Tip:
Great access to Chinatown's famous nightly food stalls just outside the hotel front door. Perfect for those wanting an experience of Bangkok's oldest quarter that is unspoilt by the nightlife characterisnig the more tacky or sleazy tourism in other parts of the city.

The hotel is location in Chinatown and easy to find. All the food stalls, 7 eleven and shopping centers are just minutes away. Check in process was smooth and the reception served us cold towel and tea. The rooms are well decorated and the old shanghai style was very pleasing. The hotel also provide free shuttle to the grand palace and MBK. A big plus for this.
Shopping Tip:
Go crazy and remember to bargain.

Third stay - always enjoy the room and service
9.7
Good location, rooms and excellent staff. Hotel is on very busy street, but rooms are very quiet at all times. Central atrium with fish pond is striking feature. Staff are always attentive, efficient and friendly. Small bar at street level is great for watching the passing parade. Will stay here on future trips to Bangkok.

Great location, lovely staff, real boutique
Location, staff, free minibar
9.3
This hotel locate in a heart of Bangkok's China town. Only a few step to so many good street food. This hotel offer free breakfast and free minibar don't forget to finish them all before leaving. All staffs are very friendly and nice.
There is no parking space for hotel guest so if you plan to drive here you have to pay for parking. TAXI in bangkok seem don't want to go to China town during peak period 16.00-21.00 p.m. coz they think traffic might be horrible. Try not to get a taxi at this time.
Shopping Tip:
Street food taste better and save money

The design of the hotel is outstanding. Love the fish pond.
7.7
Hotel has a wonderful old Chinese design with a good blend of modern comfort. Room is big (Mudan) and good for family stay. Overall, had good experience and would recommend to our friends in the future. Will definately comeback in the future.
Restaurant Tip:
Abundance of food outloets just outside the hotel which are very reasonably priced.

Unique hotel with friendly staff
Interior was swank, in Chinatown
9.7
visually stunning interior for a great price. took our 2 young children to bangkok and chose chinatown as our base. shanghai mansion is on a main road. lots of traffic and even more so because of the vegetarian festival going on. did not hear street noise in our inner room. very quiet hotel. children are allowed so i won't feel too guilty about my kids running around. disappointed nothing was happening at the supposedly hip hotel jazz bar cotton, even over a weekend stay. only dinner. good food.
Nightlife Tip:
Not sure how often Cotton actually has jazz.
