I liked the rooms-nicely decorated, good size. The outdoor pool was great. The food in breakfast buffet was excellent.
The bar in the lobby was dark, uninteresting. The spa service was expensive, it was not worth the money. I also thought the internet service in the room to be a little expensive - 670 baht a day.
Overall i liked the hotel. I think it was worth the money. I liked the outdoor swimming pool a lot. The location is good for business traveler, since it is close to everything. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They should offer better selections of western food. The lobby needs a face-lift.
Shopping Tip : Platinum shopping centre is a good place for shopping. It is only 10 minutes away by taxi.

Very welcoming foyer with accommodating staff.
Pool in a pleasant setting.
At present the lack of restaurants as the bakery closed at 8PM and the main restaurant did not have A La Carte menu.
We enjoyed our stay at the Siam City hotel as the staff were very helpful and it was pleasing to see that they remembered us when we returned last Wednesday for a further days stop. One of the best features of the hotel is its entrance and the fact that it is very close to the Skytrain making it easy to get to other sites in Bangkok.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Location near skytrain.

- Great Staffs
- Huge rooms
- Large Pool
The staffs was friendly and helpful. The overall of the buiding was awesome. The pool was not to be miss together with the pianist at the lobby. The train station is just 2mins walk away. The street behind the hotel which is 5mins away has got a wonderful seafood resturant that is tasty and affordable. Massage and clubs are also on this street. Siam CIty is a central location to all shopping, train stations and other ammedities. Great Hotel

Close to rapid transit, clean, good on-site restaurants, efficient
Rather large and not too intimate, but a very good "large" hotel for all that.
We picked this hotel for a 2 day stop-over in Bangkok. While a bit out-of-the-way (that is, not in an area replete with other hotels), it was non-the-less perfectly adequate for our needs. The rapid transit line was very close (easy walking distance) and, of course, taxis can take one everywhere without issue and cheaply. The hotel was large and efficient and had all the amenities one would expect. The rooms were a little on the small side but not too bad. It was clean and in good condition.
Restaurant Tip : There are some good restaurants on the next street west of the road the hotel is on. Exit the hotel and turn right on the first lane way. Go to the next street and turn right again.

Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
Best continental breakfast in Bangkok.
The room was clean.
Internet service is very expensive.
The Siam City Hotel in Bangkok is an excellent hotel in terms of cleanliness, value for money and friendliness of it's staff. The hotel is located close to the BTS (sky train) making travel around Bangkok very easy. The restaurant in the hotel lobby is well known as providing one of the best continental breakfasts in Bangkok. Overall staying at the Siam City Hotel is a very pleasurable experience and one well worth repeating.

Clean, modern facilities and good food outlets. The price is right if you shop around on the internet.
The rooms in the old wing are getting a little tired but still good value - the extra sqaure meters are very much appreciated.
An excellent mid price hotel well situated close to the BTS station. The hotel has an old and new wing with a range of food outlest ranfging from a coffee shop, Italaian restaurant, and a a full buffet and dinner service. the lounge arae is well mainatined and peaceful, the bar service very good and the happy music soothing rather than up beat. the concierge staff and the reception staff remember your face after a few visits and are very polite and helpful. Taxi fare to the arport in a bout TBHT 300.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Get a unlimited travel ticket (lasts until midnight each 24 hours) on the BTS trains for TBHT 120. Saves finding change and getting a new ticket all the time.

The Siam City is an "old style" traditional Thai hotel (similar to the old Intercontinental before they tore it down to build Siam Paragon Mall)
The rooms were very comfortable and decorated in Thai style. The staff were pleasant as normal in Thailand, the gymnasium and pool was very nice and the location was great for getting around
The public areas could use a some refurbishment on close inspection.
I normally stay in the JW Marriott or Pennisula when in Bangkok. Therefore I was not too sure what to expect of this privately owned hotel, especially as the rate was so low. I was only staying one night so it wasnt going to be an issue.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this to be an old style Thai hotel in the vein of the old intercontinental, Sukothai etc. Really nice rooms, nice staff, good location. I will be heading back there again for sure.

Relatively cheap for "5-star" hotel, close to Skytrain
Building could use update
Though the building could use an update, it was not bad at all. My travel partner and I stayed only one night, so I do not have strong impressions of the Siam City Hotel. Our stay was pleasant enough. I definitely did not feel it was opulent for a “5-star” hotel, but it was nice enough. It does have a pretty good location (though we did easily get lost wandering around the hotel).
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you're not familiar with Bangkok and this area, you should probably get a map before wandering around as the streets can be confusing.

Close to Train Station less then 5 min walk.
No cons. Happy with hotel
the stay at the Siam City was very pleasant, hotel staffs were friendly and helpful, hotel pool was one of the key highlight of the stay as well. Bread shop in the hotel has great, freshly baked ! Internet Access was maybe a little too expensive. Good thing as well that the train station was only less then 5min away by foot.

Far from the main stuff, expensive services.
I don't think it´s really worth the five stars the hotel has. It is not expensive but it´s not cheap either. Hotel´s staff was great professionals. You can enjoy the pool at this hot city. The prices of the services (restaurants room service, spa) were a little expensive for the quality offered. One of the major problems was the distance to the most interesting places in Bangkok.

Big bathroom, near the train to get around, staff was nice.
If you want to do anything, you have to take a taxi, train etc. Nothing walking distance from hotel. The rooms are REALLY small. I would say this hotel is a 3-4 star definitely not a 5. There are many better hotels out there.
Overall, I was not so happy with the hotel. I was searching for a long time and thought since it was a 5 star it would be good. In the end it was just a regular hotel with a bathroom as big as the room itself. Would recommend this to someone who wants to say they stayed at a 5 star but doesn't know what a 5 star is.

SPA is absolutely recommended.
Beautiful Hotel Lobby and hotel room.
Swimming Pool is really nice (on the roof top)and refreshing
The hotel wanted to charge 1600 Baht for the shuttle service BKK Airport to the SIAM City hotel. We paid 400 Baht for a normal taxi.
We were really overwhelmed when we saw the hotel lobby first- really terrific. The hotel staff was nice and forthcoming.
The room was spaceous and well equipped.
The SPA was a real highlight and we had a wonderful 1 1/2 hour thai massage in a wonderful sourrounding.
The Swimming Pool was nice (on the roof top).
The Agoda offer is a real bargain
Shopping Tip : The hotel is located close to the MBK Shopping Center

The hotel was nice and the staff very helpful and really nice. The room are spacious. We also liked the swimming pool area.
The breakfast was good but quite expensive. The restaurants at the hotel and the bar were expensive too.
We enjoy our stay at the Siam city hotel, the staff was really helpful and attended our requests. When we left for the airport a staff member asked for a “meter taxi” and make sure that the taxi driver was charging us the right amount (which was 200 baht at the meter for the airport). On the down side the wireless internet was not working in the room. We found the price of breakfast and meals at the different restaurants of the hotel quite expensive. We did a cooking class at the hotel, which was interesting but that I would not recommended as we just looked and did not have to prepare much.

Storage facilities, the porters were very helpful
Being charged very high charge for WiFi
The hotel is very conviently situated 200 yards from Skytrain station. The porters were very helpfull and the free storage facilites was much appreciated. Was very upset to be charged a very high rate for 1 nights use of the WiFi when on both previous visits the had been given free of charge. When i tried to query this the staff were not interested and the was apparently no manager available. We would use the hotel again but only if free WiFi was guarenteed, surely this should be the norm in all hotels afterall it costs them hardly anything to provide this service.
Hotel Feature Tip : Make sure you get free WiFi if required
