location, service, general feel of hotel - very upmarket, staff are extremely efficient

safety deposit box in our room didn't work. but easily to fix.

Siam City Hotel is definitely a place I would come back to stay at. conveniently close to the main shopping distribut (a short taxi ride away), and the staff were amazingingly efficient. Beautiful hotel. the rooms were comfortable, and the pool was lovely.

Shopping Tip : Siam Paragon is the best shopping centre!

- location - food - service - gym - rooms -

- no free internet -

i wouldn't expect a service that great in a big hotel. they do things so efficiently. from checking-in, to getting your bags and bringing it to your room, checking-out, answering all your questions, making reservations, etc. the location is great as well. just a couple of minutes walk to the nearest bts/skytrain station. the rooms were very spacious. we booked a deluxe room, requested for 2 connecting rooms and we got what we requested for. the in-house restaurants are also great. i ate in their international buffet restaurant and the japanese one. the food and service were excellent and the value for money was great. the hotel also has a good gym.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : always, always ask the taxi driver to turn on the meter. if not, do not ride!

+ friendly staff + very clean + good facilities + very near sky train + Thai style hotel

+ airco in the room was rather noisy

excellent hotel to stay for 5-7 days. accessibility to public transport is very good, which is important because of the continuous traffic infarct in Bangkok (avoid the road as much as you can).

close to the BTS station, big room. quiet place.

old building.

the appearance is classic style. Comfortable fabric and enough space for relax. \nIt is close to the BTS station, however inside hotel is so quiet. as far as staying in the hotel, we don’t have to hear the noisy sounds.\nThis hotel may be old, but everything is clean. Hotel staff is very kind and act rapidly. Most recomendable place is SPA. If you have enough time, you should try SPA massage inside the hotel. I tried face massage and thai massage, it made me so relax. Comparing it with the other hotel such as e..wam, price and services is definitely better.\n

great location, very handy to the sky train. friendly reception staff and porters. The pool was very nice and clean and a great place to relax. the rooms are clean and well appointedand the late check out is very useful. the piano bar is a relaxing pleasant place to spend some time while waiting for friends.

The only fault that I found was a very arrogant, rude waitress in the piano bar.

It was a pleasure to arrive at the Siam City in Bangkok after traveling extensively for 3 weeks in Vietnam. The door man helped sorting out the taxi fare and was very welcoming as were all door staff for the duration of my stay. The hotel is clean and comfortable and an oasis retreat from busy days of sightseeing and shopping.I particularly enjoyed the pool for early morning swims and exercise in the gym. It is unfortunate that on the weekends the pool does not open until later in the morning than during the week. The hotel offers a great range of places to eat if you don't feel like going out and the piano bar is a great place to relax while waiting for friends or chatting. Generally the staff are very friendly polite and helpful

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The sky train station is very close to the hotel and a handy way of getting around

Location, accomodation, food

None

For a one-night stay in Bangkok, this hotel seemed to us ideal. Arriving at night, it was very easy and cheap to reach by public taxi from the airport - don't use the expensive hotel car - and the room was clean, comfortable, and cool. Service at reception was excellent. A skytrain station is very close, and it is convenient for sightseeing. We ate once in the Thai restaurant, and once in the 'Italian' restaurant. Both were fine. Recommended.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Use the skytain down to the river - then take the boat. And hire a long-tail boat on the canals - it's fasacinating. But haggle over the price.

The location - if you want to be near to the airport

The location - fairly uninspiring

With a fairly early flight to catch, and a desire not to be stuck in Bangkok traffic, this hotel seemed ideal. In fact, it's more than the 15 minute drive given on the hotel website - more like 30 minutes in moderate traffic - but it's still very close by Bangkok atandards. And it's fine when you get there. The room was the largest we had on the whole trip, and, with a good clean bathroom, was more than acceptable. Service was fairly good, though we didn't get the morning call we had asked for (we had a travel alarm anyway), and breakfast was good. We didn't eat dinner - the menu looked limited.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It's worth taking the Skytrain to/from On Nut (the nearest station as yet). But still expect a 45 minute journey.

The Bell Boys outside the hotel are excellent.

Check-out procedure.

I stayed in the new wing of the hotel this time. The rooms although a bit small for my liking was nicely furnished and the maids did an excellent job everyday. The Japanese restaurant was very good. The outdoor bar/dining area between the hotels two wings is full of mosquitos - for a 5-star hotel, something should be done about it.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Use the bell boys outside the hotel. They're great for getting taxis and helping you get the best price wherever you go.

Friendly and helpful staff.

Decor of room dated, didn't think it was value for money.

Firstly we where quoted $130 AUS dollars for a night which we booked through agoda as that was our budget, however we where charged $165 dollars once the transaction went through, we were a little confused as to why this was so... The advertised description on agoda said there was a bathtub which we thought would be nice, however when we checked it there was no rooms with this available. No breakfast was included (considering the price we ended up paying that would have been nice), the room we received was tiny and decor was very outdated, plus we could hear traffic all night outside (thought they would have had sound proofed glass!). The staff where helpful and friendly and clean hotel on the up side. Don't think we will ever stay at the Siam City again.

location friendly to MRT,room big, and with a nice swimming pool.

one of the reception ladies is not polite enough when guests ask for the promotion dinner.

this business hotel is located near the MRT station (across the street)which is very much time saving taking the bad traffic of bangkok. Room condition is fairly good (newly decorated) with a comfortable bed. What very much impressed me is that most of the staff provide service with smile from heart. Sufficient breakfast everyday is the first thing that delighted me during the stay in Bangkok.

Excellent, attentive staff. Good buffets.

Rooms are small. Bathrooms too small for 2 people even though there is a seperate shower.

This hotel was lovely & in a good location. Easy & cheap to catch taxis from here to most tourist attractions. We enjoyed the staff and loved the buffets. Good choice of eating places. 711 store very close by. Would stay here again.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Always ensure that you catch metered taxis and check the approximate price with the hotel staff before getting in.

Excellent staff, quality reception, restaurant, pool and bar. Very close to the Sky Train and easy to get to and from the airport.

We stayed in one of the rooms that was not refurbished, and whilst it was fine (reasonable holiday Inn standard) the rest of the hotel suggested a better standard. My mian/only complaint was the windows were single glazed so it was quite noisy even though we were on the 13th floor. If I went to Bangkok again, I would stay somewhere further west, nearer the main sights, however we had no problem with using the very cheap(if metered) taxi's to get everywhere.

Decent hotel, very nice communal areas, and the rooms will be fantastic when they have all been refurbished. The reception, bar, pool, restaurants and even the on site bakery were superb. It was our first visit to Bangkok, and if we were to visit again, I would aim slightly further west towaqrds the main centre, despite having no problems accessing what we wanted to do by taxi.

Hotel Feature Tip : Ask for a refurbished room, as not all have been finished yet.

Good location, close to skytrain Nice modern decor

Breakfast very expensive

Stayed only one night and picked the hotel as it was close to the Skytrain for acces to Chatchuk market and other city sites. Porters very helpful in giving directions and negotiating with taxi drivers on our behalf to make sure the fare was reasonable. Only hotel we had without breakfast included, and while breakfast was good it was very expensive. Hotel newly decorated and bedrooms finished to a very high standard.

Restaurant Tip : Don't have breakfast if not included in the room price

Very nice entry and many restaurants. Very nice pool, a little cold but very charming.

The style room and the bathroom is a little old-fashioned. View pretty ugly to our floor. I think we should be in a suite in order to enjoy a beautiful sight. The transfer to the airport is only by a limousine service in 1600 while in bath bus is between 350 and 400 bath (we refused)

It is difficult to judge this hotel because we did spent a night before our return early the following day for Paris. We have not dined at the hotel which is located in the district grattes skies-but it is nice to join an evening stroll to discover another aspect of Bangkok. In the morning, although it was 5:30 in the morning and we did not take the limousine service, they have quickly found a bus to get to the airport.
