i liked the friendly staff, always there with a smile.
a very comfortable bed, quiet and a great position for shopping, markets, etc.
swimming pool was too shallow. this was only a very minor problem.
i would be more than happy to reccommend this hotel. it was so easy to go places.
very close to the sky rail, which opens up your list of things to do.
the rooms where very clean and tidy. the bed was very comfortable.
i was very impressed by the appearance of the hotel, and was taken back by the friendly and courteous staff.
very happy. thanks.
Nightlife Tip : In Bangkok the sex trade is very open, if you can't handle gays and lady boys, stay in at night. Being a male solo traveller, i saw a lot of couples argueing over this.

i love this place more than my own home, going back in 3 weeks time for my last few days in BKK before i go home.
the staff is brilliant, so is the location and the food and the room and everything!
trust me, go there! this was suggested to me by my sister who is rather picky to say the least.

This place is conveniently located near the Patpong night markets and the center of Silom. The hotel's entryway is cool, with this kind of indoor/outdoor bar area. Just take a few stairs to the less exotic, actual lobby and you'll be greeted by a very soft-spoken, gentle, somewhat ineffectual Thai man or woman who will stand up and give you that little Thai bow before any business is consorted. Make sure you get the 411 on how to keep the AC and electricity going in your room (you always have to keep one of your key cards stuck in the device to keep all of this technology running) and be sure to take advantage of their free American breakfast each morning, provided you get up before 9:30 or 10. Pool upstairs has a nice view of downtown Bangkok; the jacuzzi was freezing, but who cares in the middle of June? Just get used to walking out your hotel door and being accosted by taxi drivers, hookers, pimps, ladyboys, and guys who want to sell you gems and a "new, tailored suit." Welcome to Bangkok!!!
Some of the staff members have that sweet, gentle, glazed-over look in their eyes (i.e. I don't understand what you're saying, but have a nice day.....OR........I know what you're saying but I don't want to help you, so have a nice day).
Nice place in a good location. Patpong markets are just down the street, and so is Boystown if you like going into bars with a bunch of shirtless Thai guys parading in front of you waiting for you to pick them out and take them back to your room. Same girly action availabe, of course but more diffused throughout the neighborhood. Walk west on Surawong one day all the way to the river, get on old crazy longboat driver to take you on a tour of the canals and the river, and you'll be stoked. Crazy trip past people's shanty houses, pythons curled up right next to the river, dead cats floating in the water, guys coming up in their boats trying to sell you shit, a stop at a "snake farm," which had few snakes but some bored monkeys and a sad tiger stuck in a little cage....and then the whole Chao Phraya itself....teeming with pollution, but you see all kinds of great temples and monuments along the way.
Travel tip : Make sure you negotiate a price with Tuk Tuk drivers before you get in those things, and have one set destination in mind, otherwise they'll try to take you all over the city and take you to a tailor shop to have a (cheap) suit made for you. Just be firm with them and don't let them mess with you.
