Location, security (24hours guard)
A bit aged interior (however. well maintained)
This hotel located close to commercial area and shopping zone.
During night time I excepted some outside traffic noises however it was almost neglect level.
Construction work is a bit old style however well maintained and value for money.
Breakfast is simple but good enough and open from 0630. So, among accommodations near by, I like this small haotel and would like to stay them again. Recommended both for fmily, young couple trevellers and BGT travellers.
Restaurant Tip : Quite many good restaurants close to the hotel including famous Chinese(MSG used)almost next door.

Good location, close to Patpong market and transport.
Poor selection at breakfast.
Third stay at this hotel and found standard not upto previous visits. Taxi's have problem locating this hotel. Searched all web sites for address written in Thai but none available. Get one as soon as you arrive.
Travel tip : MBK centre is great for shopping. Great food hall and everything else you could ask for.

Quiet street but only minutes walk to great restaurants, shops, skytrain.
My partner and I always choose to stay at Silom Serene Hotel in Bangkok because we believe it's good value for money, and has that small hotel feel where you don't feel like just 1 guest out of hundreds. Service is always with a smile. It's a great location only 5 minutes walk to the SkyTrain. We like Silom Serene particularly because it's close to everything yet it's a quiet and relaxed place away from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. The food in the Ormthong Restaurant on site is quite good too. Staff are always friendly.
Restaurant Tip : 5 minutes walk to the "Mango Tree" restaurant - it's excellent Thai food and a great atmosphere, with indoor and outdoor dining and nightly Thai musicians and dancing. Great value for money also.

Handy for Jim Thompson and Skytrain. Good restaurant- Naj- nearby.
We've stayed here three times now. Its a decent location for the Skytrain- which makes other locations very accessible. Best rate was on Agoda. Good size room, clean but a bit dated. Breakfast OK but nothing special. Plenty of fast food choices and street food available in the area. Good travel agent nearby and the hair dressers next door is good quality and fair value.
Restaurant Tip : Try the Naj- about a ten minute walk away. Lovely food, very smart surroundings and very Thai. Try the lunch special- 250 bhat- very good value. We paid about 300 bhat to the airport.

convenience as it is near the down town
the taxi drivers (2 times) cannot find the hotel.
overall it is not bad and the breakfast is fine for my family. The swimming pool is too small that not able for swimming but can enjoy the sunshine in the hotel. No 7-11 near hotel and it walks over 10 minutes if you want to buy somethings for drink or eat in mid-night.

centre of town
friendly staff
after walking around for 3 hours and a taxi ride later we still couldn't find this place. the directions said soi7 but it's actauly on soi 3 on silom road. nice place to stay with nice rooms clean and tidy. the bathroom was good but a bit outdated and the hot water works after about 5 min. it has good transport links with chog nonsi and another skytrain station 10min walk the other way. the streets come alive during the night with many stalls setting up. good price to the airport with the taxis outside. 400baht and go the way without toll bidges then you don't have to pay extra and only half hour to the airport.
Good choice for breakast. all in all good place to stay
Travel tip : alot of night stalls on main road.
great transport links. one about 5 min walk and the other around 10min.

Quiet; clean centrally located
Taxi drivers seem to have difficulty finding the place!
Not my first visit, and I will definitely use the place again. The beds are comfortable; it is clean; staff are helpful and the location is good for shopping, business district and the night markets. Maybe the breakfast is not of full 5 star standard, but it is quite acceptable, especially for short stay visits.

location- close to MTR and night market
I have stayed there 4 times a year for the last 10 year no recognition from the staff and worst the requests in my reservation are never reviewed until point them to staff.
Staff mostly long timers that are RIP (retired in place)

The rooms seem to be in good condition and floors looks like they were just redone. The day staff seems friendly. The breakfast is small and healthy offering fresh salad and fruit. It's open till 10:30 am so it's nice if you like to sleep in a bit. The gym is crowded with (some) equipment and the dumbbells need to be replaced. However, you can can in a adequate workout. The pool in right in front of restaurant so avoid lunchtime unless you don't mind an audience.
Spacious rooms but limited TV channels and internet very expensive and still on that old card system. Rooms facing the front have a view of the bank wall. Rooms facing the backing are much nicer but charge more for them too.
Overall, the hotel seems to be clean and well maintained with the exception of the gym unfortunately. It's very easy walking distance to the night market, vendors on Silom, Saladeng Station and Silom Complex. There's a 7/11 next door for late night snacks too. Easy for taxi's if you tell them "Silom Soi 3", there shouldn't be any problems. Easy to hail taxi's too but the sky train could be faster depending on the time of day. Finally, they seem to be strict about unregistered guest.
Restaurant Tip : There is a "True" cafe (cell phone company) with good coffee and internet service just around the corner on Silom.

Friendly staff, great location and clean rooms.
Finishes in bathroom could have been better ie. incomplete tiling. Window wouldn't open.
I stayed at Silom Serene Hotel in October 2009. Overall a pleasant experience for myself and my girlfriend. I've stayed in several hotels in Bangkok before and would rate this as one of the nicest. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. Provided metered taxis without prompting. Full English TV including sports and movies. Stereo in room. Wi-Fi was expensive. We will certainly return next time we visit Bangkok.

I Recently stayed for 2 nights with my partner. We stayed on the 7th floor overlooking the street .The room was clean and the staff were friendly. Its very close to Patpong and the skytrain so no need to catch a taxi.I would recommend it for couples it was quiet.
Hotel Feature Tip : The pools small but nice

It was my first time staying at Silom Serene Hotel and my first impression was good location. Easy access to MRT and shopping area nearby. I liked the place and room size was just nice as I was expected.
Nightlife Tip : You can go to night bazzar quite easy from the hotel, however you must walk around 20mins or taking taxi.

location - right in the middle of the Silom Road shopping and nightlife.
none- except the short walk to Silom road lacks a good footpathy
We have been going to Bangkok for 25 years and discovered the Silom Serene some 5 years ago and have been going there every year since. It is a well maintained quiet small hotel just off Silom road which is close to all the shopping, restaurants and nightlife in the Silom area and yet close to a skytrain station for travelling to other areas.
