good location, comfortable, clean
not flexible on rules and regulations concerning visitors for guests staying at the hotel, even when many other hotels allow visitors
I've stayed at Silom Sirene on a number of occasions over the years and don't really have any issue with the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : great cafe just a couple doors down from the hotel that offers free internet access

Small, friendly, efficient
Standard of restaurant food could be improved
I have stayed at the Silom Serene many times, and shall continue to do so. It's location is good, being just a few metres from Silom Road and an easy 10 minute walk to the skytrain/underground. The staff are helpful and attentive, whilst the general hotel ambience is easy on the eye, comfortable and offers everything business travellers and tourists are ever likely to need. All the room facilities are well maintained. The beds are comfortable and the rooms are very clean and, over the years, have been regularly refurbished. Summarising, an excellent hotel offering value for money accommodation.
Hotel Feature Tip : Breakfast by the pool can be a very pleasant way to start each day

excellent rooms, staff and facilities
The Silome Serene boutique hotel was great value for money and exceeded our expectations in almost every respect. Our de-luxe room was on a non-smoking floor and faced the street. The double glazing was so effective that we were not disturbed by traffic even in the morning rush hour. The room was spacious with a desk, armchair and coffee table as well as a very comfortable King size bed.
The bathroom included a powerful shower and there was always plenty of hot water. Bathrobes and slippers were provided in the bathroom as well as the usual toiletries which was a nice extra. The air conditioning was easy to use and very effective.
The staff were attentive and always very helpful. Our only problem was lack of clothes hangers and when I asked we received more almost immediately.
We ate in the hotel restaurant which offered a good menu selection and also found a number of excellent restaurants nearby. These were within walking distance, but taxis were also easy to find and because the hotel is situated between two Skytrain stations [and near an underground station] transport for sightseeing or eating out was easy.
The hotel pool was small but well kept and a pleasant temperature. There were good changing rooms with lockers and free towels, and a selection of toiletries to use after a swim. Other facilities included a sauna which we tried and a fitness centre.
The Silome Serene hotel was suggested to us by a friend and we are very happy to recommend it to others.
Shopping Tip : Lots of stalls selling souvenirs etc in nearby Silom street. Remember to haggle politely and you can get great bargains.

If you want to be in the Silom area, then this is the reason for staying here. Staff is very professional; menu price of food is reasonable; newly decorated rooms.
Pool is small and small area around to pool for relaxing; 4-5 blocks away from skytrain stations.
Since I knew the busy soi it was on, I requested a top floor room that would face the pool since it would be more quiet. My request was refused. When I arrived I realized the hotel was only 20% full;thus there were empty rooms available facing the pool. Instead, they assigned me to a room facing the soi on the second floor. Sounded like I was sleeping outdoors with the traffic noise. Was I refused my request since I had a discount?--I don't know, but because of this, I won't stay there again.
Nightlife Tip : Silom area is basically for the night life and shopping at Patpong. If you want the big malls for shopping, you need to stay neer the Siam area.

Dishonesty of some personnel.
This hotel is very acceptable, except on one aspect that desserves to be highlighted: dishonesty of the cashier. Here is the story. First of all, I know very well Thailand and BKK, as I have been living there 7 years with my family, working for an oil and gas Cy. However we, my wife and I, have been cheated during our 5-day stay recently. Hence the hotel rate does not comprise any Internet access and Wifi is proposed at 400 THB per 24 hrs, or 150-THB per hour, as an extra cost. Anyhow, we paid cash 400-THB to get a password valid for 24-hrs. We were not given any receipt for that. When we checked out, late at night due to flight schedule, we were asked to pay (again) 400-THB, simply because we were unable to show any receipt.... Very disappointing.
Travel tip : Always ask for a receipt if you pay in cash.

Big room was good value for money. Location was perfect walking distance to Sala Daeng BTS and Underground. Also close to Patpong Markets, Lumphini Park and Silom Soi 2 and Soi 4.
Bathroom is showing it's age. Staff was friendly and warm upon check in. After that, I was pretty much ignored whenever I walked past. This was the biggest weakness to me.
I've stayed at Siam Heritage and Tarntawan Hotel all in the Silom Area in the past 2 years and the warmth of the staff was lacking in comparison. The room was big and clean and my view to the pool was lovely. I recommend this hotel if you want value for money and a good location. The service staff plays a big factor in my choice of stay and unfortunately, Serene Silom didn't show me the friendly Thai culture that I am accustomed to. Overall, not bad.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Avoid the morning commuters by traveling via the back sois (Convent Rd/Soi Sala Daeng 2). Less chaotic and I was able to purchase good coffee and breakfast from the street stalls.

Location near Sky train, Patpong and the highway but down a side street which helps keep it quite
Staff is efficient but not overly welcoming
We have stayed here a couple times a year for the last 10 years. We have tried other hotels but keep coming back to Silom Serne. It is clean well maintained, nice breakfast and a user friendly location. They just need to reenergize the staff, the land of smiles seems a bit missing here.
Hotel Feature Tip : Free wireless is available in the Restaurant/lobby area is you ask for the access info at breakfast

The rooms are in need of renovation.
The Silom Serene was a pleasant experience but we decided to book another hotel in Bangkok a little later anyhow. To blame for that I suppose was the fact that the rooms are getting a bit tired and the small pool, that does not really give a holiday feel to your stay. Even though, the location is excellent and a footstep away from Silom Road, Sala Daeng skytrain. The Silom MTR stop is a 5 minute walk.
Nightlife Tip : Only minutes away from Patpong and the (gay) nightlife.

Good location walking distance of MRT and Patpong. Rooms are always clean and everything works.
As a repeat guest I can not figue out why the pool water is always so cold
Nice boutique hotel the location is good with the MRT being a short walk it makes the whole city easy to get to. After many years of staying at this hotel I was quite happy to arrive and have my room request honored. Many of the staff has been there a wile and do not show the same energy and friendliness as they did in the past.
Travel tip : Ask for room facing the pool

good location; friendly service and very reasonable price
we stayed in the hotel for two nights on the 26 and 27 Dec 2008. It costed us 400 B from the airport to the hotel. The hotel is located in the CBD, so not very easy to find restaurants and bars. I like the fact it is so close to the sky train which takes you to the Market in around 20 mins. Good value for money is you are on a tight budget.
Shopping Tip : Visit the night market not far from the hotel. Things are very cheap!

Clean, conveniently located, large space, great lighting, immaculate.
There isn't much room between the bed and the closets.
We stayed there for a few nights & New Years Eve 2009. We were thinking we were getting just another hotel room. Upon entering the room we were amazed at that it was like a small apartment. There was a kitchen, dining area, living room area with large TV. The bedroom was totally separate in another room as was the bath/shower, of course. The floor plan was great and felt very comfortable. The place was immaculate and the shower amenities were of great quality and in abundance. It is a great place to stay and we would certainly stay there again.

Location - close to the commercial centre in Silom Road on a side street and a short walk to the Sky Train. The Airport Express stopped close by. The room reasonable size, clean and well furnished with a good size fridge with space for own food, drink, etc. The hotel supplies a bath robe, slippers and an umbrella.
Staff friendly and helpfull although.
Plenty of choice for breakfast
Most of staff had limited English and there was a lack of useful tourist knowledge, such as where Airport bus stopped for return journey and local sources for trips. The windows need adjusting to keep the sounds out at night.
This is an elegant small hotel, conveniently situated close to the nightlife of Silom Road and the BTS. The rooms are nicely furnished and, apart from the inevitable spots of mold on the calking in the bathroon, scrupulously clean. The maid service was efficient.
The staff at reception were pleasant and tried to be helpful, however, some had limited English and/or little useful tourist information. Although the room faced on to a side street there was still a lot of noise at night (damn those taxi motorbikes) and the sliding doors did not seal well enough to keep the noise out.
The restaurant provided plenty of choice for breakfast and there is an outdoor area which ideal for an early evening drink (Happy Hour 5 till 10).
This is good value for money on an international scale, but dont expect five star service.
Restaurant Tip : There are countless restaurants and street vendors in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, on Silom Road, and if you are really economising you can get a meal at one of the street "cafes" for a couple of dollars (US).

good location near Silom. MTR and BTS within a few blocks from the hotel. Quiet pool outdoors to relax. Good breakfast included in the price of the nights stay.
I had one night to stay in Bangkok as I was in between a week in Phuket and a week in Pataya. I chose this hotel given its proximity to nightlife, restaurants and shopping. It was on a quiet street so the nightlife did not disturb you at night time. I would stay here again. I found the staff friendly and efficient.
