the location of the hotel is great and it comes with good service. the hotel staff are helpful and friendly. room are spacious and it is also clean and comfortable. other facilities like swimming and health spa are also available on the 5th floor... overall i enjoyed my stay in somerset park suanplu..

i've been staying at this hotel for years. have also tried many in the area at higher and lower price-points but keep coming back to this one. love the location. taxis generally know how to get there. breakfast is reasonable. rooms are large, nicely decorated, with nice layout. when about $/night, seems to be a good value. internet can be a bit slow--or doesn't reach deep into all rooms but is free and usually functional. towels are a bit scrappy. cheapest rooms don't have tubs but most others do. beds have nice bedding/pillows but the mattresses are rather hard (very typical in asia).
Shopping Tip:
There are some nearby stores where one can buy contact lenses at better prices than found along Silom, etc.

I continue to love Somerset style. This is one of their older more traditional hotels and it is still beautifully landscaped and the 2-bed suite is spacious. When we requested a router instead of the Lan (so we could use multiple electronic devices) it was installed immediately. We also needed a whip to whip whipping cream and they provided it immediately and with no complications. Staying here is a wonderful experience.
Restaurant Tip:
Suggested by staff at the Somerset, the restaurants at Banyan Tree, a competing high class hotel around the corner, is great and the Vertigo bar/restaurant, is on top of the world with 360 degree views of Bangkok.

my stay at somerset was once again memorable.
this is my second time staying at the hotel and it still impresses me with its good service. i particularly like the location of the hotel and the friendly staff who never fail to bring a smile to my face whenever i see them.
once while returning under the dark stormy skies, i was cluching my shopping bags and barely walked in the gates, the very attentive concierge had already noticed me and rushed forward to assist me with my load. this is the wonderful and thoughtful service that had impressed me so much that i would definitely continue to book the somerset park suanplu for my future stays in bangkok.
