Great hotel in a good location
Comfortable rooms, lovely staff, good amenities, reasonably priced meals/beverages - delicious food

We were greeted with a cool fruit punch and our bags were taken to our room. The room was on the 14th floor and the view from our floor to ceiling window was lovely. The room was very big and well appointed - bathrobes, slippers, a desk, coffee table, couch, good lighting, a decent-sized CRT TV with many channels (a fair amount in English), the bathroom isn't huge, but was a good size. The shower over bath had great water pressure with no loss of hot water at any time. Some reviewers on here complain about the carpet in the room, we however loved it - after walking around Bangkok all day, we loved being able to have soft flooring for our bare feet.
The restaurant was very well priced, and the food was both delicious and well-varied. We were most impressed with the Pad Thai - fresh seafood and genuinely yummy! The in-room wifi is free and VERY fast. If you have a laptop, you should bring it - very convenient. Although we didn't use the pool, it is well situated and the gym is well-stocked.
What really made our holiday in BKK though, were the staff. I'd like to mention specifically Win (i hope that is how it is spelled) and Chandra who work in the restaurant and terrace bar (the terrace bar is fantastic - live guitarist all night playing and singing well-known song we could sing along too, but not obtrusively) - both of these staff really looked after us - Win made sure i had my own serve of dragon fruit every morning when i mentioned on the first morning how much i loved it. I was overwhelmed at his kindness.
Last but DEFINITELY not least, is Bob from Guest Services. He is so knowledgable about the area and thailand in general and gave us welcome drinks - he really made our trip - what a star! Ask for Bob if you stay. Thanks Tai-pan for a great trip!

Enjoyed a Cold Glass of Beer After a Hard Days Shopping On The Outside Terrace Listening To Quiet Live Music.

Clean and spacious superior room with good value for money if booked via Agoda, have since booking in Tai Pan Hotel few of my business trips to Bangkok, Thailand.

The staffs are kindness and smile. The kind of food could be change some day cause the client who stay for many days.
Nightlife Tip:
If you like massage, there are many shop surrounded.

Good room, clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast

Free internet access using own laptop or mobile was handy. Very close to Asoke bts made it easy and cheap to get around Bangkok. There were many places to eat and drink near the hotel. Swimming pool and fitness centre were good, there was a Sauna but I didn't try it out.

Always been my choice of hotel in Bangkok

Taipan has always been our choice of place to stay and nowadays agoda is offering such good deals that every time we go to Bangkok we specifically choose Taipan. The rooms are big and spacious, service is good, staff are friendly nothing to dislike this hotel really. :)

a very good hotel for the money with very nice hotel staff and a lovely restaurant not very far to walk to all nearby entertainment and restaurants of the sukumvit area of bangkok.also very near both the sky train and underground train stations of asok bring about 150 metres away also some nice english style pubs nearby also the famous soi cowboy entertainments are also very near

location of this hotel is fantastic right in the heart of sukhumvit near all the nightclub action but far enough away to be quiet,enterence is descreet as it is off street,enterance and lobby are classy,room was clean and comfortable bathroom was excelent with bath and shower,air con was cold,room was quiet.breakfast served in restaurant was so good with a wide selection for western and asian and served to high quality and standard,check in- check out was fast and easy.
Nightlife Tip:
this hotel is in a good location close to all the nightlife sukhumvit has to offer.

Great location, very clean but old

I only stayed 1 night, arrived late and checked out early. I was at first thinking oh my god, it is so old and needs a refurbishment.
When I got to the room, I was amazed at how clean it was. The employee of the month I noticed was from housekeeping, so it explains it.
Service was only so-so.
Nightlife Tip:
Massage shops out the front of the hotel are very good. Perfect after a long drive.
