Rooms are clean, staff friendly, variety of hawker food around the hotel.

breakfast can be improved

The hotel location is about 15 mins from Platinum shopping mall and Pratunam shopping mall. There are plenty of taxis in front of the hotel but get the driver to use the meters or agreed on a fixed price up front. Further up the hotel is a street full of hawker food - fried bananas, mango rice, noodles and a lot of their local delicacies. On the streets around the hotel are also plenty of shops offering foot or body massage.

Shopping Tip : The Swensen ice cream in Bangkok is really cheap if compare with Malaysian prices.

Just a cross the road they have a good and cheap massage.

No swimming pool...very quite place...noting much and no facility in the hotel.

Going with friend is okif not staying in the room...not recommanded to stay with family especially have kids...noting interesting around that area.

Travel tip : I went with my hubby... not knowing when i booked the room i accidently click single.. and end up i have to pay extra which i think with that extra charged i can stay in better room and hotel. The receptionist call up my room and ask me to come down to pay the extra...which im very dissapointed. The receptionist not flexible at all.

Place is very new, clean, well-organise and most staff are very friendly. I would recommend to those who love to be near Pratunam and on budget. Smokers, don't worry though their rooms are all smoke-free, they provide a corner at every floor to smoke in the hallway.

All staff should be friendly, Only one at the reception is not friendly. Also they should inform us that if the deposit given via credit card, it will only be debited a week after.

A very good encounter of this hotel. Very convinient to walk to Pratunam (15mins) you save from paying tuk-tuk to reach there. Food from Cafe Elite is good and the TOM YUM restaurant they had was fabolous!

The outlook of the hotel is pleasant & clean. The room rate is reasonable for budget stay. The bedroom although is small but is clean & the bed is comfortable. Most important the toilet is also clean. Value for money.

Most taxi drivers don't seem to know the location of the hotel & we have to mention The Bangkok Palace Hotel then only they can drive us there. The frontline staff not very helpful especially when I tried to borrow an umbrella from them. The morning call which I placed with them will not acted upon which I believed must be some miscommunciation.

Overall the hotel stay is a good one especially the room rate is reasonable. The room although is small but is clean and the bed is very comfortable.Perhaps the hotel should consider providing each room with a small electric kettle to boil water. The location is within walking distance to The Platinum Fashion Mall. I have in fact recommended 2 of my friends to stay in the hotel in Nov 2009.

hotel is clean and quiet

hotel is not accessible at all, need to walk a long distance before reaching shopping area. staff are not as friendly

this hotel was recommended through word of mouth but it was a disappointment altogether. firstly, not all taxi drivers know about this hotel and it is too far from city area. moreover staff are not friendly at all. the room aircondition will actually turn to off mode in the middle of the night leaving us sweating when we woke up in the morning.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : to include breakfast when booking the hotel coz its not easy to get food around the hotel vicinity

Cheap, very clean and has variety tv channel in the room.

The location is quite difficult to find and quite far from BTS station and shopping center. You have to explain the location to every taxi or tuk-tuk driver to find the hotel. So my suggestion is to print out the map location in the hotel official website and give it to the driver (there is thai wordings contained in the map that may be useful for driver to find the location). The mattress is slightly hard.

Recommended hotel to stay. It is very clean and cheap. Restaurant Tip : There is TOM YAM Restaurant beside the hotel which serves a very tasty tom yam gong seafood with a reasonable price (250 Baht/bowl).Many massage also available near the hotel. Just try the thai massage, you'll love it!

The hotel is very new n the rooms are clean as well. I like the lobby!

Quite far to Chatuchak market.

Tuk-tuk or taxi will b right outside the hotel waiting for you so is very convinient to get around the city. Hotel itself also provide tour. You must try the tom tum thai restaurant next to d hotel and the massage center is good n cheap as well :)

Travel tip : Ask the taxi to go by meter

Quiet surroundings. Hotel location just on the fringe of the busy Makassan area. Relaxed atmosphere.

Lightings in the room a bit too dim. Option for brighter lightings (when needed) is desired. No facilities to make hot drinks in the room - such as portable kettle/pot.

For business or leisure. A place to get a night's sleep and bath. Not the place to spend time in the room for long hours - no good view (from the window) because it has only 5 floors. However, the doormen are friendly and helpful.

Pretty long walk to train stations & a good 15-20mins walk to Pratunam Market. But taxis are plenty around.

Overall, it's a good stay. Believe it's completed not too long ago, as it's renovation looks & feels new and clean.

I particularly like the cleanliness and the helpfull staff of the hotel. I also like the amenities provided. It is a cozy hotel with an eastern and oriental twist to it.

I have another friend who booked a package with another agent which states breakfast included but the staff insisted that breakfast is excluded. So there might be miscommunication happening with the staff and the agents. But that didnt happened with my booking, so i suggest the staff should be aware with bookings made tru outside agents.

We arrived at Ecotel by noon on a saturday. We checked into our rooms without any delays or problems. At first i was skeptical of the location and cleanliness of the budget hotel, but our first impression of the hotel was clean and decent. The rooms were clean and airconditioning was working well, most importantly the toilet was clean and the shower is working very well. Teh bed was clean too. Housekeeping staff did a good job. Location wise is not too bad with 2 big hotels in front, it is easy to inform cab drivers. Quite easy to catch a cab outside our hotel. Glad for that. Nightime, the area is quite safe and foodstalls around after our foot massage nearby. I would definately suggest a friend to stay there. Great value and great stay.

Nice hotel, pretty lobby, great resturant (called Cafe D'Elite). Rooms big.

Was a bit of a walk (about 15 mins) to the nearest Skytrain station.

Good 3-star hotel. Loobby is quite impressive, and would be worthy of a 4-star. The rooms are more 3-star, but are still clean, bit and well furnished. The hotel has two resturants (a Thai one and a European one), but they are on seperate premises (part of the same building but seperate entrance). The food was very good in both resturants.

Clean & comfortable place to stay.

Unpleasant attitude towards customer. Not all staff, maybe only one or two staff was reluctant to put their smile or greetings upon.

The overall experience in Ecotel was fine. It just maybe needs to improve in terms of customer service for front desk staff. For those who wish to sign up local tour package when you landed in Bangkok, there is a desk next to Hotel reception counter would able to help you to solve the problems. The tour agent, name as Jennie was rather helpful & friendly, despite our negotiation on pricing & with all soft of funny questions. There are few nice western restaurants near by, you may give a try. If you wish to pamper your tiring legs/body after a day of shopping/walking, you may consider go for a massage & the massage center just next to the Hotel. But bear that in mind, despite you have paid for the actual massage fee, some of them will be asking you for tips. Last but not least, for the price that you are paying is definitely value for money.

Shopping Tip : Basically, Ecotel is quite near to shopping places like World Centre & Platinum Mall. You either can take a slow walk or alternative take a taxi & it won't cost you more than 80 baht.

Although the hotel is small, it really attracts me by the white paint, external design, cleaness. The price is okay for me.

I was not happy with the shower. It gave me either very cold or very hot water. I changed room but they are exactly the same.

Although I am not happy with the shower (it gives you either very hot or very cold water). The price is reasonable enough. And although the restaurant where breakfast is served is not inside the hotel (you have to walk out and it's just almost next to the hotel), and inspite of limitted food, I find it clean and nice. The hotel also attracts me by its white paint, the external design and the small clean, bright hall. Besides, it's not so far for you to walk from the hotel to Pratunam market and some other big shops as well.

Shopping Tip : You can walk to Pratunam market, where you can buy clothes at cheap price
