- There was no hotwater
- Basin and bathtub water was yellow
- Aircond was so hot it felt like a heater! (even the bellboy said it) It was a rather unpleasant stay as so many things which we never thought to come from a 4 star hotel had happened to us. Firstly, when we first got to the room, upon using the toilet, we noticed that all sources of water (toilet, basin, bathub) were yellow - seems like the water system hasn't been cleaned for ages!
Secondly, when we got back to our room at midnight, we were astonished to find that there was no hot water! Upon calling the reception, we were told that there was something wrong with the hot water and the technician was only going to fix it tmr!
Thirdly, we suffered throughout the night as the aircond was not even cold! it felt like heater! we wanted to request to change room that nite, but as we were so tired, we jst lived wit it..
Fourthly, breakfast was another unpleasant experience. We asked the staff how much it costs for the buffet b'fast for 2 pax, and was told the rate. It wasn't cheap though, and the only edible thing was the cereals!
Also,99% of our calls to the reception were never answered!So, we had to walk down to the reception to speak to them each time the above problems cropped up!
We were shown other rooms to change to,bt realised that hot water for all rooms were still not fixed, hence we decided to change hotel on our 2nd day!
Hotel Feature Tip : The hotel is quite a distance from the nearest MRT station, say abt 15 minutes walk. Wld suggest staying at hotels which are just next to either the MRT or BTS stations.

Deposit safe in the room was not working, informed the staff but had to use the safe at the reception. No hot water, also reported but nothing done about it. Was in general not impressed, had expected more for the price

Overall staff are rather friendly and helpful. Foods are delicious. It would be better if free internet accesss is provided especially for us (the business traveller). It is rather inconvenience to log in and log out using the chargable internet access. Meanwhile, suggest free kettle to be provided so that we can boil water for hot drinks. Thank you.

The hotel lobby is grand. air conditioning is not functioning and some lights in the hotel room is not working. receiption must be improved.

Good location and pricing Smell bad and need upgrade I've stayed in this hotel many times but this is the worst I've seen. The hotel smell bad, hot water is not hot, breakfast used to be good but has only half of the items they used to provide. I did not eat there half of the time even they are included. Can not complain about the price but!!!!!!

The lobby. When you enter the lobby it gives you a feeling of grandeur. Good rooms. The hotel looks great and when you enter the hotel it gives you a good and grand feeling .. Huge lobby gives a royal feeling as the name only suggests. Rooms are big and nice . Robinson mall is near by as well as Hollywood disco is nice and good entertainment area but a lil far from centres like central mall and pratunam etc. but over all great value for money lil choice for veggie but good food for no veg eaters.

this is old charming but old they need only to refresh the hotel and definitely change the carpet, even work on other material than carpet. We do like the staff and also the lobby we feel this is a real traditional hotel but regarding the rest everything look abandoned and used the room are nice but the carpet look really bad and the corridor also.
Nightlife Tip : the massage. other than that get no attraction around.

Staff very friendly.
Reception area is very nice. It is in need of a face lift. I stayed here for three days and only had hot water for a shower once. Every time I told the staff about it they assured me it would be fixed and were very nice about it, but it was never fixed. The location is out of the way but it was good for me. The subway is 5 minutes walk away and there always seemed to be a taxi out the front. There are some markets close by with all the clothes you could want and that beautiful street style Thai food. The breakfast was ok but if it was not included I certainly would not pay 270 baht for it. For the money I would stay again but I would check the hot water situation first!

near department store and food court center and close by all of everything . this hotel area is too busy with a lot of traffic all the time is hard to travel sometime that I don't like . I have been stay to this hotel many time because is near by where all the shopping area that the old airport ( within 15-20 minutes) and even the new airport still not too far from this hotel ( within 30 minutes) I like this hotel a lot because is open and more comfortable specially bathroom is my favorite spot .
Shopping Tip : near by a lot of shopping mall and food centre that you can walk around within 5-10 minute walk.

let's just say to start with, i would never stay here again. besides being cheap to saty at a 4star hotel, there was nothing good about the place. it was very far from where i needed to go and the hotel was just not what they said on the site. room was really bad( not clean, really old beds) somebody should question their 4 stars. worst of all was that they stop my girlfriend from going to our room thinking she was someone else.

old carpet, swimming pool Great value stay in business area from city center not so hectic and crowded -well accessible with walking distance by using subway train. Taxis easily available or otherwise can use motorbike taxis to beat the traffic. Nearby shopping center Robinson and Carrefour and local night markets available. Wide range of food from restaurant to street hawkers.

good location just a few steps next to the new subway. There is an excellent equipped gym available and pool is 25 meters standard, nice. my room, facing the main road was little noisy in the night, very poor TV, just 5 local channels were available, that is not international standard at all. hotel looks lovely in it's Thai style decor inside, public areas are spacious as breakfast area is as well. Several restaurants are available, including a 24 hours open one. Over all, a location which is convenient either you do business in that area or just stay there for a vacation, safe surrounding and easy access to the underground. Definitely good value for money, hopefully they will install a better TV access, in November 2008 only 5 local channels were available.
Shopping Tip : there is a typical small Thai market close to the hotel selling everything from food to clothes, have a look...it is on the way to the subway.

Great swimming pool.\nClose to the Underground.\nGood buffet breakfast.\nSpacious rooms (deluxe) No nearby restaurants / bars.\nThe carpets in the hotel are a bit shabby.\n We booked the hotel on spec without knowing anything about it and were pleasantly surprised after having stayed in some others in the area.\nIt really was Grand with its high ceilings and marble decor and had a sense of a bygone era.\nThe corridors were a little shabby because of the carpets and a lingering smell of cigarettes but we weren't on a non smoking floor.\nGood size pool and well shaded in the mornings for the daughter and with a childs pool and jacuzzi too.\nWell worth the stay

Spacious, service, clean, inexpensive (using agoda discount), located walking distance from subway station. No free internet, food was bad and expensive, "international breakfast" was not international enough (no real western food), gym not free, pool not free, poor exchange rate. Hotel was great. Every day room was cleaned with new sheets put on the bed and new towels. We did not expect such a nice place for the price that we paid on Agoda. We found out that the normal rate is much higher.
It had a nice gym but you had to pay for it and use of the pool was included in the gym cost. Their Japanese restaurant was clean in the dining area but not clean in the kitchen. The food was not good at any of the venues. The only thing I could really eat at the breakfast buffet were the scrambled eggs, fried eggs, or omelets... and even those weren't cooked enough. I would have been satisfied with cereal but there was only one kind of cereal (don't remember which) and the milk was not cold. The room service (food delivered to the room) was excessively priced and the food seemed like it was sitting around all day, then microwaved to make it warm again. The soup was incredibly awkward.
Overall, I would highly recommend this place if you don't care about eating inside the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Don't eat in the hotel at all.
