Designed by architectural design guru Bill Bensley, The Siam is a singular display of pure spectacle done in the most serene good taste.
You approach from the river on its own beautiful boat and are confronted with a muted, low-rise Xanadu, all done in black & white, with palms, plants, avenues of flowering frangipani and hedges of scented jasmine.
Ancient Thai houses have been reassembled on the river’s edge as intimate restaurants. Behind them, the enormous property opens up via wide pathways and stairs. You walk past luxury villas with their own private courtyards and bathing pools, through to the main inner covered court. Here, three tiers of beautifully appointed rooms rise up around a huge reflecting pool with enormous banana trees that seem to grow out of it. There is a massive Moroccan-style sunken courtyard surrounded by a spa and treatment rooms of princely proportions. Everywhere there are massive doors leading off to different public spaces.
Scale, in fact, is the theme here, as it is in most Bensley-designed hotels. Doors and windows everywhere are insanely tall and slender, ceilings regally high, baths enormous, planting pots giant. You feel like a child strolling through a very tasteful wonderland. The public area takes up far more space than the residential. There are only 39 rooms (some enormous) in this entire property. So the feeling is of being in an airy island resort, not a hotel in the middle of a cramped tropical city.
If this were not impressive enough, all the various buildings are studded with antique details that have been incorporated into the design. Ancient doors, pillars, window-frames, screens, door-handles, and so on are all functional parts of the design, as are one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture, sculptures and extremely rare free-standing pieces just there to blow your mind.
These are all from the life-long collection of co-designer Kris Sukosol a Thai pop star, movie actor and scion of the family that financed this whole visionary project.
Children and extra beds:Guests over 3 years old are considered as adults. Extra beds are dependent on the room you choose, please check the individual room policy for more details.

An hotel cannot live on design
far from every interesting areas in bangkok, but they have a private boat if you find the schedule that fits you.

At first it feels like an awesome hotel, but it is lacking of live, the service is super slow, and the food is not good. It is a newly open hotel so it might get better with time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
To go to reclining budha and grand palace use their boat.

The Jewel of the Bangkok's Exclusive River Hotels
Spectacular river location, gorgeous rooms, decoration. Amazing staff. Attention to Detail.
10
for those interested in boutique top-end luxury, there is no comparison for the siam. this spectacular river hotel has been furnished with thai antiques and the finest furniture, designs that money can buy. the hotel has a quiet regal feel with tons of space and few people. it is over the top romantic. river rooms for meals are actual jim thomson houses. there are plunge pools in private villas that are fitting of royalty. the fitness center, gym and health club is the finest i have seen, with a full boxing ring. dining is excellent, and every detail of the hotel is unique, and one of a kind. this is a hotel for those who can afford it, and want the quiet exclusivity of a high-end hotel. the neighborhood is convenient for temples, river restaurants, but will take some time into the town center with traffic. if you have older people who have trouble getting around, make sure to choose the rooms in the main wing, and take your time walking around the grounds. if you are on your honeymoon or want a romantic getaway in bangkok, you need not ever leave this hotel. i can't possibly tell you all the little gems, special features of this hotel. if you can afford it, i would book it. agoda had a great rate on this hotel and i'm guessing the price will rise over time as popularity increases.
Restaurant Tip:
Krua Absorn about 10 minutes away is a great local restaurant with great Curries.

"Over The Top Beautiful"
The architecture, the room itself, the view of river and the very nice staff
8.7
my stay there was very good. i arrived a few hours early from airport and was taken to my beautiful room several hours early free of charge the staff was very sweet and helpful. there was not very many guests there so you get taken care of pretty much hand and foot. only thing you may want to keep in mind is around the hotel is not much but river and some pretty temples however, they have boat to take you to attractions throughout day. i think this room is perfect for couples who want to stay in and enjoy the beauty/pampering. key features is you get amazing bath, huge shower, comfy bed, huge tv with many channels even internet and games, speakers throughout room, outdoor but inside your room huge jacuzzi for private skinny dipping and a nice sunroof for personal tanning and view.
Restaurant Tip:
Only real negative shocker which we jut laughted about was a friend and I had breakfast there and he got an omlet and I got an egg sandwhich with cappachino and it costed just over 2,000 Baht aka 60 USD which was definatly the most expensive eggs ever:)It was good but I recommend you try to go elsewhere for food unless your just dont mind blowing lots of money. Other than that prettiest hotel in Bangkok and rooms are HUGE and very different. I now want a condo that looks just like it!
