Unico Grande Silom Hotel Bangkok Info
If a central location with a reasonable price tag is what you have in mind, then this could make for a nice accommodation choice when in Bangkok. Located on Silom Road, Unico Grande is walking distance from the sky train, as well as the Patpong street market. In addition to the restaurants on site, including a rooftop eatery, guests will also be within walking distance to dozens of outlets in the area. The popular Suan Lum Night Bazaar, with its shops, beer gardens and restaurants is just a five minute cab ride away. Unico Grande Silom makes for an ideal choice for guests looking for a central location, with easy transport links.

The location of the hotel on Silom Road is good. Taxis can drive in off the road and porters will take care of your luggae for you. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Chong Nonsi BTS station which is handy. The 24/7 restauarant/cafe is useful though prices are a bit higher than elsewhere. Breakfast is good but is identical every day. The rooms are large and extend to the width of the whole building. There are great views over the city from the 19th floor roof where there is also a nice pool and restaurant.
As with so many hotels these days there are no drawers for any clothes only a couple of shelves above the electronic safe inside the cupboard. I understand that the executive rooms have been modernised but the bathroom in the 'superior' rooms, though adequate, need modernisisng urgently. There is no wi-fi in superior rooms so if you want it you have to go down to the lobby with your laptop where you are charged 100 baht for 30 minutes whereas at Ocean Net down Silom Road, and on the other side of the street, you pay 1 baht per minute with a minimum of 10 baht and there are free bananas for customers too!!
Overall, the Unico Grande Silom is a satisfactory hotel. There are aspects mentioned above which need urgent attention in my opinion and it would be a real benefit for customers to have in-room wi-fi as so many other hotels have these days especially the competitiors of the Unico nearby.
For customers wishing to bring a friend/joiner back to their room for some entertainment there is no problem at all.
This visit was my 3rd at this hotel and if the price remains competitive then I may well come back again next time.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Ocean Net is the cheapest and friendliest internet cafe nearest the Unico. It is south down Silom Road, on the other side of the street, and charged 1 baht per minute with a minimun of 10 banht only.

i travel to Thailand at least twice a year and always stay at Unico, it like haveing your home and friends with you, nothing is a trouble and with the excellent dining room and great security staff it is a pleasurable safe conveniebt Hotel to stay. only minuyes from the main shopping centre of Silom and good restaraunts
Shopping Tip : Tony Shoes are hand made and cheap compared to Australia

Large room, big selection at breakfast. Good location.
Bathrooms are a bit dated and the shower was pretty poor and over the bath
Although our stay here was fine and we didn't have anything majorly bad that we could complain about we have stayed at other hotels in Bangkok for less money that are a lot better finished. The room was very large but the bathroom was very disapointing, the shower itself was very poor, I only just fitted underneath it and I am 5"4, my partner had no chance.....I think that if the Unicon wants to justify the pricing structure that they have then they have to update the bathroom facilities.
