No hotel safe - rooms need re-decorating
Hotel is located in a very lively area with plenty of restaurants and shops on your doorstep. When you walk in the reception area is very nice but the rooms are in need of redecorating. Rooms do not have a safe so if but difficult if you want to store your documents and valuables in a secure place. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

I like the hotel's design - simple; quite elegant
I like the breakfast, the rosirin restaurant for dinner food,
friendly and accommodating staff
they do not inform you if somebody have acquired the room on the day of your check-out, despite you still have the key (just in case that you forgot something in the room, and you found out that somebody is already occupying it) - even though you are still there
Viengtai hotel is located in a busy street called khaosan which makes you acquainted of night life there. It is also located near tourist spots like the grand palace and couple of common temples. Staff from the hotel are friendly and accommodating, they will offer their help just to make you satisfied. They offer the safety deposits of your valuables conveniently. They have good food during breakfast time. The restaurant offers good food as well at dinner time. Tours and travel agencies are also accessible near the hotel. I have enjoyed my stay at viengtai hotel, it was my first time to visit thailand with my mother and we will be coming back to see thailand again and to book rooms at viengtai hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : it is near the grand palace
also from several common temples
also near shopping centres (ie MBK)

level of rooms, regular room is bad, deluxe room is hardly satisfactory.
The Viegtai location is very good, close to everything. Food - breakfast is OK clean, somey=times you have to coax them into replenishing supplies in buffet. The regular rooms are not what you would expect from this establishment, they are closer to guest house standard. Deluxe rooms are satisfactory, for some reason they have no shelves in closet. All in all the hotel is quiet and serves its purpose. that staff is curtious and helpfull.

hotel was a lot larger than I was expecting but also a lot nicer. Its on the road just behind Ko San so is quite busy. We had a room at the front of the hotel so was very noisey at night but stopped around 2:00 which was fine for us as we were gneerally getting in around the same time. loads of food stalls just down the road which were lovely and really cheap. The swimming pool was a bit of a let down, due to its location it seemed to always be in the shade and only four sun loungers which is not good. However good hotel with friendly, helpfull staff. Also tourist office located to the side of reception were very helpfull.

Room needs updating, no lights around swimming pool a night
We stayed at Viengtai Hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is just around the corner ffrom Khaosan Road, therefore minutes away from cheap places to eat, bars and stalls – however not right n the middle, therefore quiet during the night. There is a reasonably sized swimming pool on the 3rd floor which ok however is surrounded by walls therefore mainly in the shade and is not lit up during the night. The room is very big and the bathroom is adequate – however needs updating. All in all a good hotel for the price.
Hotel Feature Tip : You can negotiate with the taxi service - our price to the airport was reduced from 750B to 500B

Khaosan road is only one street's walk away about 4 minutes.
hotel charges for extra guests and hotel reception room rate is 10 USD more expensive than the Agoda rate.
Viengtai hotel is one street away from Khaosan hence excellent location. The rooms are very clean but the aircon out of date and needs cleaning. The toilets are very clean but the ceiling is very low hence not suitable for very tall people. Staff are very friendly especially the tour operator and flight office in the hotel. very safe to walk back to the hotel even late at night. Not all the taxi drivers know where this hotel is so make sure you grab a business card at the reception.
Nightlife Tip : make sure you never eat in the hotel the street food is incredible and really cheap in comparison. Go to khaosan road and just for the hell if it try the deep fried scorpian and other insects. the red dragon fruit juice is incredible, they have two carts normally, one at either end of Khaosan.

Friendly and helpful staff
Good location (close to Kao San Rd Markets)
Great cafes and restaurants nearby to eat
Leaky air con unit in room
Had a great 2 day stay, clean and comfortable rooms. Air-con leaked all over my bag... my clothes got wet. Got them to launder my clothes for free.
Restaurant Tip : Don't eat in the restaurant downstairs, venture out to the restaurants outside. They're great value for money and the food is fresh.

Good Buffet breakfast
In the center
You can hear the noise from the street if you take the front rooms (facing the street)
Good hotel for that money. Good breakfast buffet. You dont have to worry about what to do in the area because you are in the heart of the bars and the kohasan area. We liked it.

Close to Khao San, clean, good service, good air-conditioning, very nice buffet breakfast.
Ratamburri is also busy street, so it's noisy. Rooms are very simple and old. Bathroom is fine, but vey low.
Stay was OK, but for 40USD per room per night I could expect better standard, but it was OK.

Good location for sightseeing in historical center, everything you need for travel you can find nearby
Not good for Skytrain and far from huge shopping centers at Siam station. In the evening taxi drivers refuses to ride to the hotel by taximeter.
We stayed in this hotel two times and always were satisfied with our stays. Hotel seems a little bit old, but well kept, rooms are nice and clean, but in our particular room shower should be replaced for a new one. Do not expect something really great, after all it’s a mid-range hotel, but it’s Ok for a two or three nights stay to explore Bangkok historical city center by foot. Breakfast was OK, not more.

It is in a main location where all the backpackers are.
Good Breakfast (Buffet).
Clean place.
You can hear the noise if you take the windows facing to the street.
It is in a main location meaning you can just go down the elevator, out of the hotel lobby and you are where everything is going on. Shops, Bars, Backbackers.
