This was certainly no Palace, but a very simple hotel in a very out-of-location area. It was not possible to walk to the sky train, and if one wanted to go to Silom or Sukhumvit, the taxi was often caught in endless queues. It was almost like pre-sky train Bangkok.
Hotel old fashioned and not too updated. The breakfast was the standard fare, and quite tasteless after my opinion. This is a hotel, as far as I could see, was mostly used by Indian, Bangladeshi and African traders, who used it as a base for clothes shopping.

White Palace Hotel Pratunam
Very close and convenient to the fashion shopping areas of Bangkok

The staff was professional and courteous whenever I had an opportunity to deal with them and the hotel itself is a good bargain for the money/area/convenioence. The White Palace is an older hotel that could use some upgrading to help control the noise that gets transmitted between rooms. It was easy to hear exactly what was happening a few doors down.
Certainly not a honeymoon resort, the White Palace is a fine deal for the traveller who values convenience over fancy accomodations.

Overall, we had a nice stay. The location is quite good, around 10 mins walk to Platinum Mall and 2-3 mins walk to the Pratunam night market. Hotel is clean. .

White Palace Hotel
Very near BTS to go MBK, Siam Center. About 5 minute to go IT City (Pantip Plaza). At night, have so many good food on nightmarket

I stayed at this hotel somewhere October last year i.e. 2009 and I gave the hotel a good review because of its cleanliness and good services provided by their friendly staff. However, when I went back this round with some relative, I am sure I will not return again for my next trip.
We booked 3 rooms for 6 pax. Upon checking in, my room hot shower was not working because the temperature controller was damaged. I asked to change room but the front desk insist the technician to check. Because I know the thing can't be fix, I insisted I want a new room. Then, on the next day, it was raining and we return to hotel wet and wish to take a shower. Because one of our relative have went on his own and we only have 2 rooms keys, I asked for additional towel so that I can shower in my parents room while waiting for my partner return. I called front desk and was asked to request from housekeeping on my own. Fine, I called the housekeeping but that lady who pick up the phone informed that there are already 2 towels in the room. I knew there are already 2 towel but I need extra one so that I can shower first while waiting!!!! The worst part is that she slam down my phone before I can finish my conversation. I then went to front desk to ask why can't I request for additional towel because they can always keep it back when they do housekeeping the next day. The front desk lady initially keep saying she don't know while browsing on the computer (without even looking at me). When I continue to ask and refuse to leave, then only she told me the housekeeping have right not to provide me additional towel because the room is only for 2 occupancy. What a stupid excuses. I am a customer and I paid for 3 rooms. Is not that I am bringing in extra guest, or bringing your towel home. I just needed the towel for that particular time!!!!
Ever since after that, we do not want to ask anything from the front desk anymore. I

Recommended hotel for budget travelers. Shopping malls and district is just around the corner of the hotel. A it far from the nearest train station.

Overall the hotel is very good. With the reasonable price, stay at a nice environment, clean and comfortable hotel is worth! Location is great, nearby have lots of food stores, shopping mall...very convenient for tourist! I will prefer to stay here again for my next bangkok trip! Also, I will recommand this hotel to my friends!
