Very impressive foyer. Staff are friendly and helpful. Room had a wonderful view both day and night.
Breakfast was good but limited selection available. Safe in room should be free.
Stayed 3 days in this nice hotel. Had a great stay as the room was good with king size bed. Outlook over a canal full of fish and views west to the mountains was wonderful. Pool is fantastic as it is in the shade of the hotel in the afternoon which is good for us farangs. Close to markets and bars.
Nightlife Tip : Close to markets and nightlife.

could use some new carpets, i think it is more like a 3 star hotel i wonder who gives the stars out? hard to find if you dont know chiang mai had to get a tuk tuk to follow to find the place
when we finally got to the front of the hotel after following a tuk tuk nobody came to greet us except a rude security guard who told us that we had to back our car up and park in the garage before check in nobody came to get our bags from the car we had to check in then get a bell boy and take him back to the garage to get the bags kind of a hassle i felt that they should have cane out and got the bags when we first pulled up to the hotel.
then when we left had a problem with the same rude guard because we didnt have our parking ticket validated he knew we stayed at the hotel but we had to go back into the hotel and have someone stamp the ticket

Breakfast was ok, but the choices were rather limited.
The staff at the Amora Tapae were always friendly and very helpful. The location is great for wandering around the old city and it is a pleasant walk to the night market. As I mentioned above, breakfast was ok, but nothing too special. The pool was ok. It was nice to be able to cool down after a day out in the sun. One thing that I found to be odd was that they charge guests for using the safe in the room. I have never seen a hotel charge for that before.
Shopping Tip : Don't miss the Sunday market.

Awesome price for the quality. I only stayed one night so I cannot share a full experience. Staff was friendly and accomodating.
Was under renovation in the lobby during my stay so there was a strong paint odor. Spa could use more selection or packages.
This was a good experience for us. The only complaint is that the spa staff did not fully attend to our relaxation but it was a minor issue. The hotel asks that you leave the key while out which is fine because I'd rather not carry it around. Not the first hotel to do this. Parking was abundant.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : You can rent a "taxi" for about 800-1000 baht per day to take you just about anywhere. Our driver was an excellent help and even my Thai friend agreed. They are delighted to receive a 100 baht tip and will quickly become your friend.

Staff friendly and helpful.
Great location -especially for the markets
Great breakfast - real milk!
Beer Garden - very good
Bed very hard found it hard to get a good sleep.
No assistance given with luggage at checkout. Had to carry suitcases downstairs to waiting vehicle. Bathroom light flickered on and off during the night - had to turn off master power switch. Did not receive 2 bottles of water each day. Maid threw away hair clips necessitating a quick dash to the 7 Eleven to purchase more before an evening excursion. Asked for connecting rooms but door unable to be unlocked.
Chiang Mai was definitely my favourite part of the trip. Hotel is well located making it easy to walk to markets and restaurants at night. Staff were all very friendly and helpful, although we were given the wrong information when booking a car to the airport. Rooms were clean and well maintained. Would stay again.

Right in the centre of town. The only hotel of this standard in this great location.
Nothing I can put my finger on. I just didn't feel so welcome here as I did in other hotels in the area. The reception staff had a struggle with speaking english.
The hotel had everything I needed and the room
had everything you would expect. Food and services didn't have inflated prices as some other hotels I had stayed in. It was clean and well looked after and as I said, a great location. I just didn't feel particularly welcome. The communal areas were not particularly inviting and the staff seemed a little distant. There was nothing to complain about.
Travel tip : Across the road, over the moat, there was a great laundry service.Idon't remember the name but it's obvious and almost directly opposite the hotel. The woman there washes, dries and irons your clothes for 30 bhat per kilo. I wish she would live near me at home!

excellent breakfast buffet, fantastic room, super friendly staff, and a perfect location. i can't think of anything. from exchanging money, getting directions to attractions, parking our rental car in the structure (free), holding our bags after checkout, etc., they were just fantastic.
if you're going to chiang mai you must seriously consider staying here. it's location is very close to the night markets and fantastic restaurants (great Mexican and Italian food within a few minutes or less). the room is what you would expect from an international hotel chain but the buffet and friendly staff will surely impress you. and at the price we paid, we couldn't have been any happier.
Restaurant Tip : craving a California-style Mexican burrito? check out the Mexican joint down the street which is ran by a California expat and his son.

nice location
convenience - close to shopping street
good food
clean room
decoration - should be renovated
I found this hotel on November while I was walking to shopping street. I wrote thhe hotel's name because I had planned to visit Chiangmai again on December. This hotel is convenience for my family to walk to shopping street and my parents can walk back to the hotel by themselves if they are tried. But the hotel is not much well known, my driver got loss. He said this hotel change the name several times. The hotel should have more advertising. However, the hotel is very nice and I'll visit this hotel again.
Shopping Tip : It's good to stay on Sunday night because it's close to Rajdamneon street (Night shopping street)

It is very close to the shopping area and night bazaar, quiet and peaceful environment even though located in the heart of the town centre.
There is safety box in the room but we are required to pay extra charges to use it which i think it is quite weird.
Me, my husband and my seven months' baby really enjoyed our four nights' stay in this hotel as the location is very strategic and near to eating places and shopping areas. The deluxe room is clean and spacious and the staffs are also very helpful and polite. We definitely will be staying in this hotel again for our next trip to Chiang Mai.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : It is very close to the Tapae Gate which is one of the entrances to visit the old town of Chiang Mai.

Staff
location to all the sites - night bazaar, night life - restaurants
Over priced wifi - didn't always allow for a connection. Charge for room safe. Request you leave room key.
Vey nice rooms - good views. Great staff who were helpful anyway they could be. Travel info in hotel helpful. Spoke English and tried to understand your needs. Would recommend this hotel when in Chiang Mai.
Nightlife Tip : Great location to all that you want to do. Get cab to hotel on the street when returning to airport - half the price. Travel arrangements for tours in lobby very helpful see Mr. Joe

Great Location. Easy to walk to restruants and shopping. Great textile store around the block.
Really enjoyed the services of the in house tour offerings. Used them twice. Once to go to the highest peak in Thailand and then to go to enjoy elephants, raft ride, Ox Cart ride, and lunch. The breakfast (included) was good the standard buffet. We enjoyed the omelets. There is a night market with in a short walking distant. If you are looking for used English books there were several shops in walking distance. The best selection I have seen in Thailand.
Shopping Tip : Used books stores are just around the corner from the hotel.

Love the hotel and the buffet breakfast is great. Good location within walking distance to night market, etc.
All our visits to Chiang Mai, we have stayed at the hotel. We love it as it is very convenient and within walking distance to night market. We also were there when the city was celebrating Loy Kratong in November and had a really good time. The beautiful flower and costume parade was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Found several eating areas close by. We had Mexican food and Miguels, Italian food at De Stefanos, Japanese food at Sakuras. All were excellent and would recommend to friends.

Great view, great breakfast, very helpful staff, outstanding location.
They want you to leave the key when you go out. I sort of forgot to do that and no one said anything so it was not a big deal.
This was a classic spot for walking tours of the old city. Also just a short walk away were lots of very tasty little cafes with all kinds of food at reasonable prices. The staff were extremely helpful with sightseeing information. There is a great spa on site as well which we happened to catch having a two for one promotion, great stuff!
Travel tip : I recommend the weekend market at the corner if you happen to be there on a Sat. or Sun. - much nicer items than the very touristy Night Market a few blocks away.

The staff are worth the stay alone. Very pleasant, one and all! Always a smile and always helpful with any request I made. The facility is an older one, but very clean and enjoyable. Easy location to everything one would need on holiday. Laundry, eating, entertainment, shopping. Definitely would stay there again.
Shopping Tip : Head to the mall, only 30 baht trip in a taxi and explore. Pricing is not much less than the U.S. for clothing, but nice selecitons and great opportunities to save on other items.

Breakfast is free and much to choose from each morning. Late enough to sleep in and still eat.
Restaurant Tip : Exit building, go left and walk to the first main intersection and cross the steet to the Art Cafe, say hi to Chuck the owner and try the mango pancakes, sauage and eggs with feta cheese. Yum!
