Big rooms, beautiful swimming pool, friendly staff and very good value price

Location a little bit out of the way

I had stayed at the BP on 3 past visits to Chiang Mai and never been disappointed. POriginally booked in because of low price but now go there because I feel at home, The only bad thinge that have happened to me there are I put my foot on the toilet seat ( while drying my foot after a shower) and cracked the lid. I was charged US$20 to replace it, ( A lesson learned), and the massage place next door(which is nothing to do with the hotel) ripped me off with cost

Travel tip : Ask the receptioniet how much a trip should be before you go in a taxi or motorbike truck

Quiet

Lack of service relations. No beverages in hotel room ie: coffee, tea sachet not provided.

To night market, 60-70 baht. Free shuttle from Mon-Fri only. Front office not to sure when asked about where best to shop and eat. Furnitures are old. As old as 20-30 years. But what to expect from a three star hotel. However can always be improved by making some refurbishment on the furniture. A bit far from city center.

Value for Money Location Friendly staff

Swimming pool was fairly small although i didnt use it so it didnt bother me.

Huge hotel in a reasonable location within a ten minute walk to the nightlife. Cheap rooms and may well be more targeted towards thai guests although there were several other westerners staying there as well as us.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Booked a trekking trip for the following morning at around 8pm the night before through reception.

Excellent value for money, even in Thailand. Good location for old city. Cool spacious reception with very friendly staff. Rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet.

Although the rooms that we stayed in (4 nr) were clean and comfortable the decoration was a little tired and needed upgrading.

We arrived at the BP Chiang Mai City Hotel after travelling overnight on the train from Ayuthai and received a very warm welcome from the reception staff and had access to our rooms immediately. We were very pleased to find that the rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. We were able to leave our main luggage at the hotel while we went on a three-day trek. It was also very useful to have the free use of a safety deposit box for this period. Although the decoration in the rooms was a little tired we would have no problem in recommending this hotel to any of our friends who intend visiting Chiang Mai.

Good location. Nice decoration.

Room facilities look a bit old.

It's a good value for the price. Nice decoration and clean spacious rooms. Breakfast was fine though not very luxurious. Hotel staff were friendly and patient. The location is also good, in the center of the old city. Though it's a bit far from the night bazaar in the new city, I more enjoy the quiet & peaceful environment here.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Good locations, with 2 of the most famous temples around (Chedi and Phra Sin).

Great value and good location.

old.

We, my daughter and I, only stayed one night however would have been happy to stay longer. The hotel is definitely old but still clean. No frills but definitely excellent value for the price. The hotel is located within walking distance to night market and is nicely off the busier streets. Breakfast was adequate and again, this hotel is excellent value. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Friendly and helpful staff. Convenient location.

Bad room.

The room I got was bad. Not cleaned well, and with a noisy musty A/C. However, the staff were really great and helpful and made up for the bad room. I suspect they give better rooms to folks who book directly through them...

Near to Sunday Market. Free shuttle service to Night Bazaar. Centre of Chiang Mai city. Cheap as a 3 star hotel.

The hotel is a bit old. The swimming pool is small, not exactly for the purpose of swimming.

I put up my stay at BP ChiangMai city hotel from 14-17th December 08. Perhaps due to the recent Suvarnabhumi Airport closure incident, there were not many tourists around. There are a number of Tour/Travel agent along the Sunday Market street near the hotel. As our stay at ChiangMai was quite long (4D3N), upon arrival we signed up with a tour agent opposite Wat PhraSing for one full day trip to ChiangRai + Golden Triangle + Mae Sai + Hill Tribes + Hot Spring. Sunday market is something not to be missed as it is just a walking distance from the Hotel. As for the night bazaar, the hotel provided free shuttle service at every 8pm. I would highly recommend this hotel to all budget traveler/ even middle class travellers, or anyone who shares the same concept with me, i.e. I just need a decent and safe place to sleep for the night throughout my traveling period.

Hotel Feature Tip : Try to check out Number 1 beer bar at Loi Krah road. A decent bar, with friendly bartenders.

Location and the buffet breakfast with great variety, even salad and lunch-like dishes.

hotel staff did not have any specific info about events celebrating the kings birthday - they gave us an events booklet for tourists that was several months out of date - but this should be something that the manager sees to; the staff really did try to help.

A good place to stay if you like to walk around the old city, visit wats etc as we did. We made return visits to our favourite wats as you just never know what might be going on there, especially on a festival day. The hotel is not close for walking to the night markets, although 1 way transportation is provided. Lots of big Asian tour groups stay here and their noise was sometimes a bit much in the hall outside our room. So ask to be put in a room away from the tour groups.

Good swimming pool. Very reasonable Rates.

Not the hotels fault but massage service next door tried to rip off both my traveling companion and myself.

This is a very clean, well run hotel offering great value for money. Staff are friendly, courteous and helpful. Dining room provides reasonable breakfast and entertainment on some nights. Reasonable location with bar district a 60 baht tuk-tuk ride away. The swimming pool and gymnasium are good if you want to keep fit. I recommend this hotel to budget travellers.

Travel tip : Don't miss checking out the gym and swimming pool.

Very friendly staff

rooms dated

The staff made an already enjoyable stay that much better. The rooms are a little dated but if you are only dropping in or sleeping they are more than adequate. It was walking distance for various shopping and food was readily available. From the resturant I suggest the pineapple rice with chicken. It was superb. The hotel supplies a shuttle to the markets ( the sunday market is possibly cheaper than the night market both being good fun and value ) and it was only about a 60 baht ride home from the night market.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you do not want to go on tour with a group negotiate a rate for a few hours with one of the many Tuk Tuk drivers. Pick some of your own spots and they will get you there and wait for you ( they can be a source of local knowledge as well )\n
