Could be a nice resort
River view & wild village
We arrived at night and the place is very difficult to find. We drove far away from Chiang Mai city all the way through many village alleys. The reception staff who welcomed us was very nice, she remembered every requirement I made through e-mails. However, when we entered our room, we found the room was very disppointing. The bathroom was not fully covered per the village design, therefore we've seen many dust & insects came in and fell down on the basin & toilet. The only drawer which has TV on was very dirty, I found a wooden bracelet left by someone and the dirty breakfast menu & laundry price list. Then we found out there was no place for us to hang our clothes and no more furniture except for the 2 bedside tea tables. The air-con was very old & making a very loud noise, the reception lady offered us the next door family room villa but we found the room was even worse. We had no choice so we'd stayed that night with the annoying air-con and mosquitoes. They did offer mosquito repellent spray but we did not want to get ourselves killed as the we were too tired to wait 30 mins outside to kill the mosquitoes. The overall stay was nice except the rooms. We paid the highest room rate but we get the worse room in return. The staff was very nice. I'd go again next time only when they offer me the best condition room with nice kitchen & bathroom.

Very relaxing. romantic stay
Quiet, relaxed atmosphere, good breakfasts, friendly, helpful staff
A wonderful place only marred by the fact that the room servicing is below par - just tidy up, make bed and change towels - no cleaning, not even toilet. Otherwise a top place for relaxation, not for sightseeing

Wonderful stay
Beautiful river view, attentive staff, nice pool
Apart from the location that is pretty far from the city, everything is very good. Nice breakfast, relaxing atmosphere and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. You can use a bicycle and kayak for free and also wifi in room. (excellent speed)

Fantastic! The staff made our holiday.
Great food, excellent service, quiet relaxing surroundings
Fantatsic! We usually like to try different places but I would definitely love to return to Baannamping. Breakfasts are fabulous and the kayaking and general relaxation are amazing. We had a great break here and felt very welcome. Very very nice.

friendly family run resort
garden, quiet, feeling
Nice staff, nice and comfortable room on the riverside. Greta terrace with comfortable bed on the terrace. Pool was in the shade and no sun beds, that was a pity.

Remote location good for famlies
Managers very helpful and accomadating
For a younger couple not the best location. It is far from anything. Maybe best for a family. Food was ok as was the hotel. Nice sunsets. River is not very nice or very clean.

Great location for a quiet place to relax
Quiet, pleasant staff, good service
Interesting hotel in a quiet location. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing place to chill out it's a good option. It's a long way from Chiang Mai so really require transportation otherwise it will be expensive for taxi's. Had a standard room with an interesting outdoor shower. Breakfast was good. Personnally I would prefer a location closer to the city, but if it's a nice quite location you are looking for this probably fits the bill providing reasonable value for money.

Very tired and run down resort
Great member of staff
You get the sense that this was once a great resort but time has not been kind to it. The rooms are old, dirty and badly set out. No bedside lights or table, no wastepaper basket in the rooms, very few plugs, patchy internet, inefficient aircon. The restaurant was overpriced but the food, at least, was good and one member of staff went out of their way to make us vegetarian food. The hotel boasts of being under German management, who we presume was the farang cleaning the pool every morning, but we are not sure as he didn't introduce himself and seemed to do nothing else. And we are not sure why he bothered cleaning the pool since it quickly filled up with leaves again due to being under 4 trees. There are many better appointed, better located and better priced hotels in Chiang Mai than this.
