Belle Villa Resort Chiang Mai Info
While Chiang Mai is a famous tourist destination in Thailand, this boutique resort aims to get guests a bit closer to nature. Belle Villa Resort is a mountain resort whose location is just a short drive from the city. This gives guests a feeling of total isolation which leads to a more relaxing stay. For those who enjoy a more active vacation there are facilities on the premises for jogging, tennis, and elephant riding among other things and free shuttles go to the city each day. Dining options include the Maew Ra Rueng restaurant which serves European dishes, authentic Thai food and original local Northern cuisine and the Terrace, which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner close to the pool area.

Lovely pool, nice rooms, good staff
No dinner choices nearby so you have to spend +++ Baht for a meal
This is a nice hotel in a peaceful rural area. It is nice to hear the birds as you wake up and see the elephants playing tricks for you at breakfast.
I would stay here again. Be aware it is 25 kms from Chiang mai so you won't use it to go to town regularly

Lovely peaceful setting and great grounds.
This hotel is in a lovely setting with beautiful gardens. If you like Nature and peace, as we do, then this is the place for you. The room was very comfortable with good bathroom and balcony. The view was so calming and peaceful. We really enjoyed everything here except the food. It is very poor. The coffee is almost undrinkable and I had chicken cashew nut for dinner but could not tell if it were chicken or ... could not tell what it was. The staff are very nice people and they do their best but the dining staff have not been trained and it is not fair to them because they do their best.
But overall I would strongly recommend this hotel for those who want peace and quiet and comfy room. Not for those who like modern design. The Internet is very expensive!!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If driving turn right outside gate and do 'Samoeng Circle' returning via Mae Rim and Chiang Mai ... lovely trip.

The Belle Villa is a lovely garden spot among the hills outside Chiang Mai, the staff were courteous, the pools nice, the breakfast fine (especially the homemade wheat bread), and great for a quiet anniversary weekend. Though we did not have small children along, there was playground equipment available. The fitness room had a fair number of machines to use.
The stero in our room did not locate local radio stations easily (and had we know of its existence, we might have brought a CD or tape to play). Construction noise detracted from an otherwise lovely open-air breakfast buffet. A kid's playhouse was showing wear.
Belle Villa was a good spot for a quiet anniversary night away. The grounds and garden were well kept and the atmosphere inviting. The pools were nice, and the in-room bathrobes a nice touch. The in-room stereo showed its age, though otherwise the room was nice and comfortable. The bathroom had separate rooms for shower and toilet, making it more elegant in feel (as did the rough surface tile, non-slip floor). Being low season (August), it was quiet and though other guests were around, there was no sense of crowding on the Friday evening and Saturday morning we stayed there. We recommend it to others.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : We hiked to a waterfall about 500 meters from the hotel, and enjoyed the small but scenic falls.
