Good location, within walking distance of shopping

Although I had booked a room for three adults when we arrived I was informed that because I had not checked the box requesting an extra bed the fee per night would be 100bht..as this was only $3 we didn't have a problem On checking out we were told they had made a mistake and the cost for the extra bed was 1000bht...$30 per night. There was an extra bed already in the room when we arrived and so all they did was the bedding. I was not happy about this at all and felt we were taken advantage of. The extra cost put the price close to $200 a night and this hotel was not in that league.

A piece of paradise
Quiet, lovely rooms, great pool, breakfast area lovely - great way to start the day, staff couldn't do enough for us

from the moment we entered bodhi serene the staff couldn't do enough for us. the service was fantastic from reception to wait staff. the breakfast area was idyllic next to the raised grassed courtyard surrounded by a moat with fountains. within walking distance to many temples and the night bazaar. room was always clean. beautiful pool with a relaxing lounge area adjacent and a restaurant - that serves great food. although check out was midday and we didn't have to be at the airport until 7 p.m we were allowed to use our room until 6 p.m - no charge, no hassles. we would definately return to bodhi serene and enjoy their hospitality.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Easy walking distance to night bazaar and many temples

The Bodhi Serene hotel in Chiang Mai is not bad, but also not great. It is average and I had expected more for the price I paid.
Pros: friendly staff and great locarion within the old city walls.
Restaurant Tip:
Brix restaurant at the eastgate is great. Wonderful food and drinks and friendliest staff in Chiang Mai.

the hotel is lovely inside and has a very peaceful atmosphere. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The pool was very nice (but a bit chilly) and the food in the restaurant was very good, and great value. Great breakfast. Huge bathtub.. a bit slow to fill but very luxurious
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Skip the packaged tour and call Ratana -- a taxi driver / tour guide who speaks great English.

Really lovely and quiet - very serene!
Offers a family room, for two adults and two children under 12. Lovely staff. Lovely pool

this is a lovely hotel - very peaceful, nice room, lovely service. the location didn't seem to be near much. the food selection was a little limited, but it was a really nice hotel - probably best for a couple. has a kids channel which was helpful to keep the kids occupied and the rooms have a lovely balcony.

what a lovely hotel, and incredible service. highly recommended to anyone staying in chiang mai. agoda had an incredible deal on the room, and we loved our balcony with view of the "serene" pool.
