Room, location, breakfast, service from the staff.
We had a great stay here and would have happily stayed longer if we hadn't booked and paid for another hotel for our other days in Chiang Mai. The bedroom & bathroom were huge and nicely furnished. The staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice and the staff would cook fresh if you wanted it. Free internet was useful for booking a cooking course and checking other reservation details. Would definately recommend!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Thai Orchid cookery school - www.thaiorchidcooking.com
We had a great time, very friendly and a bargain at THB800 each

Very nice Boutique hotel, elegantly furnished and decorated. Attentive staff.
Breakfast could have a bit more variety.
This was my second visit to Chiang Mai and I returned to this fantastic little boutique hotel at the south eastern corner of the inner city. The place itself is an oasis and fully lives up to the meaning of the word 'serene'. The Hotel is nicely laid out around a courtyard that resembles the city of Chiang Mai. The rooms are large, have complimented by a large balcony overlooking the courtyard. Room decoration is elegant and modern, held in dark teak. The large bath tub adds a special touch to the room. Modern equipment (LCD TV, DVD player etc.). The pool has a unique design and supports the serene idea. Everything is easily accessible from the hotel and a free shuttle service to the night market can be booked. Free internet access in the library room completed the perfect picture. I will definitely return (again)!

The room was lovely and spacious
Great private balcony overlooking garden
Efficient and helpful staff
Good location to Thapae Road
Cable tv was not working
Thai food at restaurant was expensive
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Bodhi Serene Hotel. We liked the executive room including the great bathroom, with separate bath. The bed was very comfortable and it was great having wireless internet available in our room. We didn't eat at the restaurant as it was too expensive compared to thai meals outside. But it was a moderate walk to restaurants, shops and the tourist area near Thapae Gate. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Restaurant Tip : Don't eat at the restaurant but take the easy walk to other locations not too far away.

lovely and quiet, tasteful design, great location
respect smokers rights, allow smoking in designated spaces!
A lovely "boutique" hotel with tasteful design. Nice sized rooms with balconies overlooking the garden, quality amenities and appliances, and very good maintenance. The hotel is well situated in the old city, close to temples and pagodas...which might mean some loud music and chanting at odd hours. The roof top pool is very pleasant. Breakfast in the garden is a great way to start the day, and the restaurant is of good quality. Plenty of nicely set up spaces: bar, library (with internet), garden lounge, pool lounge make the Bodhi Serene a good choice at an acceptable rate.
Hotel Feature Tip : lovely ad good sized pool on roof top, and quiet garden in the old city

Hotel Staff, Bathroom, Bathtub, music and frogs
chairs at breakfast are not comfortable for leaning back and eating, location is so so, and agreeing to Agoda terms allows them to remove any part of anything you submit.
We arrived and it felt like the hotel was waiting for us, ready to do anything they could to make our stay comfortable. I was supposed to bring a printed copy of my reservation, but I didn't. No problem the staff said, just email it to us. We choose the hotel because fo the pictures of the bathroom and reviews confirming they were great. They were exactly what we expected. My wife liked the bed hardness, I didn't. The room was clean, well decorated, had good lighting, linens like at home, good high speed wireless internet, good water pressure in the shower
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you do not speak Thai it is very difficult to get directions to places using public transportation.

Breakfast not up to the standard you might expect from a greta hotel.
We loved this hotel! The rooms are fantastic - big with tasteful furniture and fixtures. The bathroom has the largest tub we have seen anywhere! The pool was clean and good for a dip. The hotel is within the old city walls and within walking distance of the night market - although the hotel does also run a free shuttle bus. We were disappointed with breakfast, but a minor grumble.

Clean, modern, nice staff, great pool
Didn't want a big, busy hotel and felt boutique was for me this quick trip in and out of Chiang Mai. This hotel was perfect: small, quiet, great service, nice breakfast, excellent reception staff. I will stay here again. Oh!..also excellent price for rooms so I upgraded to a suite.

The hotel provides a very tranquil environment with very nice facilities. Room was beautiful and the food amazing.
We reviewed many hotels through out our holiday planning. Our thailand trip consisted of 4 hotels in various parts of thailand. We are staying in 4-5 star hotels.
Not only was this the best hotel we stayed in during our holiday, I feel this was the best hotel I have ever stayed in. (I travel with work and stay in many)
This hotel made our trip to Chaing Mai even more special. Thanks you to the staff who looked after us there.

The Bodhi Serene is an oasis in the middle of Chiang Mai. Room was very comfortable and bathroom was spacious. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Breakfast each morning was very nice, in a great setting next to the very peaceful inner courtyard. Pool was very nice.
Very limited TV channel selection. They said it was temporary but it didn't feel like it. The tours offered in the hotel lobby were pricier than in town - tho they were very nice, it is better to shop around. 250 baht to the airport seemed a bit extreme. And be careful- only 1 water per day is free -- they charge for additional water even tho it doesn't say that anywhere.
Overall it is a lovely place to stay if you are looking for a peaceful, boutique type experience in Chiang Mai. All rooms face inwards so it is very quiet. Staff was great. Good location, too -- short walk to Moon Meung (the main street in the old city. I would definitely stay here again the next time in Chiang Mai. My first room had a problem with ants in the bathroom, so they moved me without hesitation and there were no further problems.
Travel tip : Free shuttle to the night market -- but you have to use a tuk tuk or walk back.

Massive rooms, Quiet although 2 minutes from everything. Staff lovely, Food great and a stunning pool. Really nice hotel.
Only that breakfast could be more varied. Everything else superb.
We had both been ill in Bangkok and wanted to refresh and some luxury to chill in. This place did not look much from the outside but was gorgeous inside. Rooms big with massive bath and gorgeous bathroom and lovely wooden floors. The staff were really helpful. The pool is fantastic and on the roof top, you are so well located for everything yet in a quiet lovely hotel. We planned 2 nights and stayed 6! Breakfast is good, could mix it up a bit but still nice. Great value for money, I would compare it to a thai Hotel du Vin, well located, nice rooms, dinner here was great and staff lovely. The tour people in the hotel were awesome, very helpful and honest.
Travel tip : To see the elephants and tigers rather than do the trip hire a cab from the tour people downstairs for about 12 pound for the day to take you in comfort so you dont have to hang around. Tigers were amazing, 6 week old cubs and 10 month we went in with. Worth buying the photos. lunch was ok at tiger temple as well. elephnats were good, go to feed them but they do play football and paint which felt a bit wrong. They are well treated and fed and bathed though and rotated between 80 of them.

Beautiful hotel. great location, very friendly staff, lovely pool, good restaurant.
Tours were a little expensive
Loved this hotel. Loved it, loved it. I would definately stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone.
Restaurant Tip : The restaurant laundry charges are high but there are good laundries a few doors down. Also a good tour operator a few doors up from hotel.

Big room, elegant decor, friendly staff, lovely pool, cheap travel agent and laundry close by, centrally located, wi-fi, serene ambience, late check out.
Bed has no top sheet, only doona, in-house tours expensive, few tv channels, small restaurant.
5 star luxury at off peak rates.
Travel tip : Book outside hotel for tours, DVDs available at reception at no charge.

Great location, helpful staff, good food.
No ceiling fans anywhere in common areas, do not book extra activities through hotel.
This boutique hotel is situated within the old ton of Chiang Mai. The staff is friendly and helpful. Do not book any extra activities through the hotel since you will be paying twice what you are supposed to. This was not our first visit to Chiang Mai and this hotel made us want to come back again and again to this great town.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Book your tours outside of the hotel, you will thank us.

small, intimate resort atmosphere
breakfast selection
friendly staff
stunning pool and garden
nice breeze in the room when windows are wide open
great breakfast
free shuttle to the night market
location - The hotel is located inside the old walled city of Chiang Mai. Much of the tourist highlights and restaurants are outside of the city walls.
An intimate hotel tucked in a quiet sidestreet in Chiang Mai. Rooms are spacious and clean. The library offers a nice place to relax and read the daily newspaper or surf the net. You can catch a Tuk Tuk outside the hotel to the local market for about $30 Baht.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Expect to pay about 40 Baht from the airport to the hotel.
