Another great time
Great location for tourist.

Staff were friendly, the air con was not working well, they open 2 more rooms for me to choose. They admit their problem and throw a free buffet. It's a perfect location right next to the night bazaar, restaurant.
Nightlife Tip:
the taxi in front of the hotel are ready to take you to any good night clubs around the city.

Centara Chiang Mai
excellant food and close to shopping
10
The location, parking, shopping and breakfast meal were all first rate. Our room was upgraded upon arrival and that was much appreciated. Everything about this hotel met or exceeded our expectations. The breakfast buffet was just fantastic with a very large selection of international foods. The overall impression of this hotel is that it is one of Chiang Mai's most classy .
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
2 minutes from night bizzare

Centara Duangtawan
Great location, great breakfast, helpful service
8.3
We appreciated the central location and helpful staff. Our room was upgraded on arrival which we appreciated. The view from our window was great. Although we had a few problems with fixtures that were frustrating at the time, staff were quick to do repairs requested. Breakfast provided ample choice; something for every taste.
Restaurant Tip:
The Lemongrass cafe, a short walk past the night market road, provided great Thai food.

Fine older hotel
This hotel is centrally located. It is older but is well cared for.

I stayed at this hotel for about 20 days in May, 2010. The hotel is old, but is well maintained with improvements being added. Everything in the room works (somewhat surprising for an older thai hotel). I think it was recently acquired by the Centara Group. I was given a deluxe room (not much different than a superior). I ate the buffet breakfast (extra cost) every day. The menu did not change much but there were many items on the menu including bread and pastries each day. One meal was almost enough for me all day. I inquired about internet since I thought it was available in the room, but found out it was 80 bhat per hour. On the street it is 10-20 bhat. All the services and food are priced exceptionally high. Somehow they think this is a premium resort hotel, but it is not. There is a fitness center with pool, etc. poor music in the evening at the bar. Also I had difficulty registering through Agoda because they demanded that I provide a written confirmation. My confirmation number or a view of the pdf confirmation on my netbook was not acceptable. They did allow me to use their computer to print out the written confirmation. All in all this is a fine hotel. But please watch out for what you have to pay. Booking through the internet is cheapest. They also provided a fruit plate because I was a long term customer. But the very small plate contained only a few grapes and some spoiled rambutan. I did not receive any discount or free day for my continuing stay as some hotels offer. I would book again so long as the room price stays down.
Travel tip:
Use the internet on the street. Coffee Day is free others in the area are reasonable. There is a free bus to the Central Airport Mall and Northern Village where the latest English movies are available.

Great location
Best breakfast in Chiang Mai
9.3
Probably the best value in Chiang Mai. The rooms are very comfortable and have good bathrooms. The breakfast is a buffet style but is truely excellent with a chef ready to good you eggs or pancakes in any style. Hotel is located just 5 minutes walk from the night bazaar. Good swimming pool and fitness club and spa within the hotel.
Shopping Tip:
Have all your washing done at only 25baht a kilo opposite hotel

Chang Mai
Expansive foyer and very good rooms
8
Centra Duangtawan Hotel Chang Mai is an excellently placed hotel next to the night markets and many other places that one may wish to visit - food, drinks etc.
There are plenty of tours via the hotel or outside to organise and cooking classes were very good.
I found that the breakfast too much for me and went to the nearby cafe just over the bridge for a light snack most days.
The hotel is very well appointed with very good aspects including the pool, massage etc.
The rooms are also spacious and the staff helpful although sometimes lacking in understanding.
All in all an excellent venue the I would recommend to anyone wishing to visit the region.
Every aspect of the hotel was lovely and clean and that is what makes it enjoyable.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Try the cooking classes - I am a older male but it gives you an insight into many dishes.
Also tours but beware of the longer trips as they are trying and sitting on a coach for the 4 hr return trip spoils things - enjoy

Best Value in Chiang Mai
Excellent spa and health club
8.3
Situated within minutes of the night market, the duangtawan is ideally located for the shoppers. It has a spa and fitness club which is free to use for hotel guests. The breakfast is included in the price and is of high quality. I think this hotel is the best value in the city centre.

Great location
Great location for a great price. Good breakfast with a large variety.
8.7
I love this hotel mainly because of the great price and location. Right off the night bazaar. Internet is not free and expensive. Cheaper to go out for it. Breakfast is fine. Staff was nice enough, but rooms did feel like they could use a face lift. Easy to get a taxi too. Bathroom was too small and the door opened awkwardly to it.
Restaurant Tip:
Great German restaurant done the same street on the left side past McDonalds.
