Location - near food, night bazaar, laundry, Lobby is great with restaurents and bars Alot of bar girls if you're interested in that. Room is adequately sized. Value for money!

The carpets are getting old. Free Wifi = pay to use. Bare in mind, outside is charging 40BAHT and some places in the less tourist popular areas - 10BAHT per hour!!! TV was a 17inch CRT. nothing special - BUT you pay for what you get! Holtel room furbishing is old, and looks like it needs rennovation soon.

The price is of exceptional value! The rooms are adequately sized! Views are ok, but there's not many high rise buildings and mostly houses, so don't expect too much. Bathroom is big, with a adequate sized bathtub for 1, and a large shower. The lobby is great! with a comfortable lounge and 3 restaurents inside. You can also opt to sit on the first floor looking down at the lobby. Value was there! as I stayed in the standard room! Very cheap indeed! There is also a swimming pool and pool bar there on the 4th floor. Free able TV - but should u be watching tv or going out? Night Bazaar is 2 min walk! but very repetitive! I advise you to go to the sunday market and Walking street. Walking street is only a available on saturdays nights!

Shopping Tip : Night market shopping - NIght Bazaar. Though very repetitive! Bars - plently when u walk out of the hotel and turn left and keep walking! But ALOT of bar girls - if you dont like that - dont bother! Restarents are on the right! Plentiful! Near shopping center - Airport Plaza - Do NOT pay more than 100BAHT for tuk tuk. it may seem cheap - but dont wreck the market for others!!

Good locations, the deluxe rooms are good

Internet is very expensive, they charge extra for everything even for the city map. the elevator.

a nice hotel in a great location - you just go out and you are in the night bazar. if you want a comfortable room you must book the deluxe room as the superior are not so nice. they charge extra money for everything and i dont like it when i need to pay extra money for every service. if you stay in the high floors that mean the deluxe rooms you have to wait long time to go down in the morning. the parking is free.

good location variety of food in the breakfast.

dinner in the hotel. there was no cheese in the breakfast.

I was very pleased from the location of the hotel-it was 5 minutes walking from the night bazar and variety of restaurants. we came in the evening and ate dinner at the reataurant of the hotel- the servie was slow although there were not many people in the restaurant. The food was disappointed as well. we left for a trip of 3 days and the hotel kept our suitcases so we could take just a little bag- we were very pleased from this service. lundry at the hotel cost a lot of many- across the street we found it in 90% less. A room with 3 beds was crowded.

Nightlife Tip : night bazar is less than 5 minutes from the hotel.

big rooms with nice bath, location, friendly helpful staff, good pool and exercise facilities, in room safety box.

long waits for lifts/elevators, Internet costs extra, old style room key not electronic.

We got a free upgrade to Deluxe from the Superior room. Loved the friendly and helpful staff here, I would stay here again for that reason. The breakfast buffet is nothing special. Good variety of average quality. Breakfast included not necessary as many places to eat close.

Shopping Tip : Do a side trip to Bo Song for shopping deals and the parasol factory.

location, staff performance, price

poor elevators service

Stayed in Centara hotel for 6 days in Aug 2009. The hotel is very well located, right by the night market. The rooms are clean and large. The staff was nice, considering the language limitations. The most disturbig thing about the hotel is the elevators: 4 elevators for 20+ floors hotel, and you can end up waiting for 10 minutes to get into the elevator (few times we lost our patience and went by the stairs). We would come back to the hotel once again.

Pool, location, fitness room, clean

Fitness room very busy with outside memberships

Centara Duangtawan hotel was perfect for our stay in Chiang Mai. We were cycling in the area and it was good to come back have a swim or workout and then be so close to shopping and a huge variety of restaurants. Staff were great and very friendly, breakfast was good with great variety.

Shopping Tip : Right near night market!

good location, reasonable room rate, comfortable amenities

some staff members on the fourth floor may not be that friendly.

i love to stay in the hotel. i swam almost every day there. the swimming pool is larger that those you may find elsewhere and the sauna is pretty good. it enjoys a good location as the night bazaar is only three minutes' walk and the old town is also not far away. but the internet service leaves much to be desired. the speed is very slow and they charge too much and too fast (my 2 hours equals one).

Travel tip : improve the internet service

Staffs are extremely friendly, very near to the night market with lots of good food, breakfast buffet changed everyday

need new carpet and faster lifts

This is my first trip to Chiang Mai ever and my family and I enjoyed the 4 nights in this hotel. The hotel staffs are extremely polite, helpful and courteous and my little baby girl enjoyed playing with the staffs there. The hotel is also located near the night market and also near some good eating establishments. I would strongly recommend this hotel for "family first timers" and also for budget travelers.

Restaurant Tip : There's a noodle stall beside the Burger King (it's hidden behind the night market stalls). Do try it. It's delicious.

- Room was big. - Staff was helpfull. - Good location.

- Room was bit worn down and in need for refurb. - Shower room was quite small. - I would prefer hotel rooms have fan over the bed in thailand but attleast my room didnt have it, so needed to use aircon all night. - Internet was not free in the rooms.

For me this was too big hotel, people who like big hotels this is probably decent one.

Shopping Tip : Night bazaar is very close and everyone should visit it attleast once.

Great friendly staff, large rooms, variety in breakfast buffet, location near Night Bazaar and Riverside, good value for the money, pool, exercise room.

Waits for the lifts (elevators) can be really long at times. They have trouble keeping up when busy, like with cleaning rooms, new towels and breakfast buffet restocking. The deluxe room has no desk, just a small round table.

I liked this place despite a few frustrations with waiting for a lift/elevator and when near capacity, they have problems keeping up with cleaning rooms and supplying new towels. But they eventually get it done and the staff is very nice and helpful. The pool is very good as is the excercise room and saunas. You walk out the front door in the middle of everything. Really good location. I would stay here again.

Shopping Tip : Make a day trip to Bo Sang for great shopping and better bargains than the Night Bazaar. Go to the manufacturers nearby, especially the paper parasols, very cool place.

Nice pool with great view of the mountains. Great location with night bazaar which open every night.

Expensive WIFI.

had stay in this hotel once before around 2 years ago. Coming back is for the pool and given such a great price but without breakfast. Anyone of you who did not have breakfast can actually settle it at a resturant at the left side of the hotel after the bridge. If you turn right from the resturant, there is one italian resturant which serve nice pasta and pizza... really nice and also great location for night bazaar with 24hrs macdonald and burgerking, and also 7-11 right opp the hotel. will back again if i come chiangmai with the best price agoda can offer.

Very central. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

The lifts!! We have stayed in this hotel many times but the lifts still don't work properly. There are 4 lifts surely they can work more efficiently than they do.

We stay here each time we visit Chiang Mai. The hotel is very central. The night markets are just outside the front entrance. There is a 7/11 across the road. There is a very good choice of food for the breakfast buffet. Plenty of choices for Westerners. The rooms are nice with plenty of room to move. We had a lovely view from our room. We have no complaints with our stay at this hotel and will continue to stay here on our business trips to Chiang Mai. It would be perfect if they fixed those lifts!!

location price

did not include b-fast electricity should be separate from key-card

The Centura hotel in Chaing Mei is in a great location. It is easy to walk to the nightmarket and near-by restaurants. The hotel room was clean and comfortable. It would have been nice to not have the electricity attached to the key card as the room was then very hot upon return. We resorted to taking the key off the key card. We have stayed at this hotel previously - and we were surprised to find out b-fast was not included when booking through agoda.

Shopping Tip : The 7-11 right across the street undercut mini-bar prices significantly.
