The hotel is near to Night Bazaar. The service is acceptable compare with the price. Many choices of food for breakfast.

The hotel is pretty old.

The hotel is opposite Le Meridien Hotel. The location is good to go to night bazaar. You can also take Took Took to go to Walking street which is not very far. ( 20 baht per person ) You can also go to the local market ( Warorot ) 20 baht by Took Took. The room is clean. Breakfast is fine. It could be an okay place to stay if you do not want to spend too much for the accommodation.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Voi Lai Road for Saturday market is best. It is more local atmosphere with cheaper stuffs. Sunday market is bigger and could be a little more expensive.

Great central location with a family friendly swimming pool, good sport fitness centre and the hottest sauna in Asia :-)

Lifts are very slow, room service food tasteless!

I really liked the hotel which had a real international and cosmopolitan feel to it and would recommend it to both couples and families. I used the sports gym and swimming pool a lot and these facilities were superb. Location is right in the middle of the tourist Night Market area so eating out was easy and convenient. Also the Night Market area is a shop-aholics paradise if you went deep into all the markets. If you wanted something different like bars and to play pool then this was only a 5 minute walk the other way. All in all, great value apart from the room service food which did need some flavour or spicing up (shame as this was Thailand) normally good and spicy food.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go to Chang Mai Zoo - leave at least 4-5 hours for this as there is so much to see, especially the baby Panda's in Aug 2009.

The location of the hotel is central and particularly close to the famous night bazaar

Whilst there are four lifts, the waiting time can be considerable

From the moment I arrived I found the staff most friendly and helpful. Check - in was pailnless and very efficient. The room itself was extremely comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast was enjoyed as was the restaurant in the evening. I would certainly stay at this hotgel again when I visit Chiangmai.

Service Spaciousness of public areas and rooms Price Breakfast buffet Location

Rooms could use a little updating. Bathrooms very nice, however.

Great value in Chiang Mai. Stayed at other hotels, and this hotel had the best value. Would recommend to friends and stay there again. Night market right outside, and very convenient to old city, as well. Outstanding breakfast buffet for all types of appetites and cultures. Agoda had the best price on the internet, and was a pleasure to use for booking my reservation. Will use again in the future for reservations. Thank you!

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Night market had excellent bargains, was enjoyable, and extremely close proximity. Use walk-away techniques to get best deal. They WILL come after you with your price.

Daungtawan has the best location, very close to the night bazar, food, city center etc. The rooms are spacious and well kept. The view is beautiful too.Staff is freindly and helpful.

I cant think of anything

We made the right choice by selecting this hotel online. It has everything but above all its location is perfect. We could find everything around the hotel by two minutes walk and yet it was peaceful and quiet. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious. The view was superb. If I ever go back to Chaing Mai, daungtawan will be my choice. Thanks for everything.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There are many tour groups availble around the hotel. They are very reasonable and have comfortable vehicles. We were able to visit Golden Tranagle, water falls and the elephant parks for less then a houndred dollars.

Excellent Breakfast. Lovely Swimming Pool

None

We Found the Centara Duangtawan Hotel in Chiang Mai to be one of the best hotels in Thailand available in this price range. The selection of food available for breakfast was second to none. A chef was available to cook an omelette to your personal taste, another to cook your choice of noodles, etc. The staff were excellent whether at reception, catering or maidservice. The hotel had an excellent swimming which both ourselves and our three children made great use of. The Duangtawan is ideally situated in the heart of Chiang Mai's busy shopping area with easy access to many eacellent restaurants. We will definately stay there again.

- good location. - good selection of breakfast

- old room, old facilty - wait very long for lift

The location is very good for shopping and dining but the room and other facility such as sauna room and locker is very old and not well maintained. Without any special discount, not worth to stay there. Hotel Staff is quite helpful and acceptable service level. Hotel van is dirty and not clean inside the car, while they charge quite high price and not worth to use at all.

Location and price

Too many corners in the room. Front desk staffs were not friendly and cashier was basically rude.

The hotel is located near the night bazaar and near to our favorite Spa Let’s Relaxes which is a plus point for us. Easy access to most of the places we wanted to visit. Breakfast was good as there are many selections. However, the layout of the room is bad, there are too many corners that make the room seem very small. The front desk staffs were not too friendly. The cashier was basically rude as she asked us to wait while she ordered the room to be checked. After 10 minutes of wait she waked away without telling us whether we are clear to go. We have to ask again if everything was Ok and she seems irritated.

Clean, central location, good size rooms, friendly staff, loads of undercover parking.

Lifts are extremely slow. Buffet breakfast was cold.

Check in was quick with friendly staff. The room was a very large, loads of room for that night bazaar shopping. The room was very clean and tidy with a good sized bathroom and toilet. The wardrobe had a small safe which is very important for passport security. The buffet breakfast had a great selection although I was there around 9am and the food was on the cold side. My only complain was the 4 lifts were extremely slow.

well, the room was a bit old, the pool was way too crowded, the service was slow and sullen, and the bed was soft to the point of collapse. ah, and noises from other rooms penetrated our room very easily. everything about this hotel is low 3 star level

Right in the centre of things. Good Gym and swimming pool. Quiet in the rooms

There seems to be a shortage of double beds.

Great place to stay in Changmai. Right next to the night market and within easy walking distances of most places around town. The staff were friendly and helpful and responded quickly to all of my requests. The dining roon is spacious and breakfast had lots of choice and variety. They seem to be very short of double beds: on the occassions we have stayed there we always have problems getting a double!?

Shopping Tip : The night market is overpriced. Go to local shops for real value

Very big room, Nice Location just few minute walk to Night Bazar. Service is good. Various Breakfast.

In vegeterian section, rice is not so good, too hard to eat because cooked long time ago and no waitress come to stir it.

I really like this hotel because it's so standard and room is clean. Inside the hotel also have some travel agency to contact and very convenience for travel. The price of this hotel is not so expensive when compare with the service and room standard. Breakfast also available and nice. This hotel also have 24 hr room service so even the restaurant is closed but still can order food same taste as standard restaurant. Next wim if I have some plan to visit Chiang Mai I'll also stay in the same hotel.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : YOu can just walk to Night Bazar and Anusarn market to have some shopping, foods, etc.

-Great location -Kind people -Nice pool -Jaccuzzi and steam room -6 digit safe box

-internet charge -old carpets -elevator takes time

Great location, very near to night market, bars and restaurants. Reasonable price. Very kind staff. They charge a lot for internet. For 12 hours internet they charge over 700 Bath. So if you think full day use of internet it is more then one night room price. The elevators are getting you angry, it takes more then 5 minutes to reach your room. As soon as you enter the hotel, you feel old carpets bad smelling. When you booking make sure it includes breakfast or not. Actually there is pretty close restaurant you can do a good breakfast with around 150 bath. Nice pool it has including jaccuzzi and steam room.

Nightlife Tip : Very close to Entertainment Center, while you drinking your beer and listening music, you can watch a real Thai Box.
