Cute, with a freeeeezing cold pool!

lovely decor; rock-like mattresses; a nice icy dip in the pool on a hot, hot day. the breakfast was often cold. but a great location for walking to the sights and markets.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Don't bother with the "souvenir villages." They're enormous warehouses without little charm and/or discounts. The Friday night market was my favourite!

hotel located in a quiet place but little far from restaurants and places for eat. clean but little small and cold swimming pool. good free internet/wifi services with 3 computers availables.
lobby and breakfast are concentrated in the same place:narrow place.
clean room but bathroom is small and lack of pressure in shower.problems with hot water too sometimes.
my room had a small balcony without any view except other buildings.
smiling, nice and helpfull staff.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Doi suthep temple, walking street on sat and sundays,night bazaar, flowers festival,the international horticultural exposition "Royal Flora" Ratchaphruek dec- march 2011 every 4 years.

ok usually i have nice things to say about the hotels i stay but this time it wasnt up to my expectations.
Cons : the hotel lobby and breakfast area are together so it is a bit congested.I booked for a taxi to pick us up frm the airport but it never came .so we took van frm airport which cost us 120bath wherelse the chang thai offered us at 150bath.
Pool is small and there was contrcuction going on beside the hotel.
Breakfast is simple but cold-sausages,eggs,ham.only the thai dish which is rice and one curry is hot.
The staffs only help u if u ask them something other then that they don't really greet u with a smile that i usually get from other thai hotels.their english is limited.Don't knw maybe because we are asians.
they are not exactly at the night bazaar area and to walk about 15 mins or just take a tuk tuk from outside.we had our dinner and massages mostly at the night baazar area.
Pros.: i got 2 superior rooms on the 3rd flr since i came with my family.The rooms are clean and the double bed is quite large and cud accomodate my three kids so i told them to take off the extra bed which was not comfortable at all and paid for the additional breakfast.
the superior room has a small balcony. the bathroom was small but clean wit no mirror on the wall.
But if u get a room on the grd flr it will be noisy cause peple walk past and the kitchen area is located there.
If u going to be out on tours most of the time it will be a good place to stay.just to come back and sleep but u want to spend time at the hotel look elsewhere.

we booked a tour thru lanna Kingdom -mr pop and prea arraged everything before we came.
since it was a family vacation.very happy with his tour.
Covered elephant safari and show ,ox cart,bamboo rafting, all temples and handicraft centres.
zip lining, tiger kingdom and doi inathon.good deal for 3 days.
the sat night market is a must go if u are not around on sunday.better to shop there than the night bazzar.

Lovely hotel but not so good location

Location is some 3 minutes from main road Sri Donchai and even greater distance 8 minutes from main road Kampaedin. Former main road is better to walk and some food and restaurant outlets are located nearby. Takes 13 minutes to walk to Panthip Plaza which is start of the famous Chiang mai night market. Takes 13 minutes walk to walled city chiang mai gate where there is a local morning market and near to bustling back-packers area. Hotel only lift and telephone system broken by lightning on 3rd day of our stay. All were repaired 1 day before we left.

i stayed 3 nights at the hotel. booking two earlier on agoda but extending one night after that. the third night was considerably more expensive so booking on line was better! rooms lovely. staff friendly. a bit dark and hard to find in the evening on your own. nice breakfast. on the down side when i went to leave i had to open my suitcase in the lobby to show i had not stolen their lovely house coat. embarrassing for me and the front desk clerk who was dealing with housekeeping on the phone. i moved to the chiang mai plaza and was very pleased with the location and services there for a lower price. it is a different setting, but more enjoyable for someone walking to a from markets etc. and for booking tours. thanks!

I arrived 2days later than booked. No fault of mine.I would have appreciated a 1 day grace on my extended stay.Staff blandly pleasant. Boring breakfast,Good location to appreciate old Chiang Mai. Pool gets little sunlight. Cheaper places in Old City

Small rooms but clean

The hotel itself is small and so are the rooms. The rooms were clean and comfortable. It was in an odd location. About a ten minute walk to the night bazaar and restaurants/coffee shops. The breakfast was awful but if you ordered off the menu it was great. Reasonably priced. The pool was small but served the purpose. There was one girl at the front desk that was very rude and unhelpful but the other girl was nice and polite. I definitely would not recommend booking any tours, bus tickets etc from this hotel. They charge a lot more then what it should cost. Quiet a rip off actually. A bus ticket through them was 150 bhats more then anywhere else. We would stay there again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do not book anything for transportation or tours. Huge mark up and unhelpful.
