Good liocation. Right behind the ChiangMai Gate, it is easy to find.
Friendly staff, good cleaning of the rooms. Feel very safe as well with your property.
Has a good swimming pool for the price which is a bonus.
They re vamped the old wing and made the rooms into luxry room. The furniture is too dark colour, and the bed is too big for the size of the room. Overall feel dark and cramped. In fact, we asked to change to the standard room in the main wing which is a lot more sapacious.
The breakfast is really as the lower end of the quality with very littel to choose from.

Hotel Feature Tip : If you want spacious room over Thai dark furniture, go for the standard room in the main building.

Large comfortable room & huge bed, very clean, balcony in our room, very good inclusive breakfast, lovely swimming pool, AC, all for a very good rate
Not any - really enjoyed our stay here. Only thing which would have been nice (but not essential) was an English movie channel for lazing around when it was just too hot to walk about outside.
Chiangmai Gate Hotel was a real gem. Situated just outside the Chiangmai Gate - it was conveniently located for visiting the old city (just far enough away from the 'touristy, girly-bar' area for us). Very pleasant staff, lovely large room with balcony. The hotel was very clean. The a/c was a welcome relief after a hard day's shopping. The swimming pool was also fantastic for cooling down. The inclusive buffet breakfast was the best - great eggs & fresh coffee. Overall, by far the nicest of the two hotels we have stayed in in Chiang Mai for the same price.
Shopping Tip : Chiang Mai's Sunday walking market is not too be missed! An amazing array of food, art, clothes & handicraft stalls - all under the shadows of some of the city's loveliest Wats. An amazing experience!

Nice pool, nice people at front desk, very helpful person at tours desk.
All over the hotel there are signs that you must not take your towels to the pool, that there are towels already there. At the pool no towels so you need to shake off like a dog.
Windows in cheaper rooms are really small with no veiw.
It was a pretty good hotel in a pretty good location. Breakfast was okay. Everyone was nice. Room was clean price was okay. Able to rent a scooter across the street and by a wifi card in the hotel lobby for the internet.
Thought I could walk from the train station which was just far however this hotel is well located for the airport, which is only a ten minute drive by taxi and is indeed next to the Chaingmai Gate and the rest of the southern end of town.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Mountian biking trip was a lot of fun if a bit expensive.
