A real gem. Well located just off the main road and close to the old wall structure. The rooms where very stylishly decorated and the whole hotel gave off a nice ambience. Less than 5 min walk to Sunday walking street. The service levels were fantastic from the reception area to the the restaurant and cafe. It has an excellent cafe out the front offering great Thai food at good competitive prices, you must try the Chiang Mai noddles. Very easy to get a tuk tuk just outside. Try the Bon Massage around the back lane of the hotel,excellent valie and quality massage.
Restaurant Tip:
Cafe De Naga was excellent value and had a good variety of Thai food.

My wife, 4 year old daughter and I stayed at De Naga hotel for a couple of nights. The hotel is very smart and the location is great, in easy walking distance from the old town centre, night market and several temples. The hotel charged a substantial extra fee for a bed for our daughter - this was the only place during two weeks travel in Thailand & Laos which charged extra for our daughter, so if you are travelling with children, check the total charge before booking.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at De Naga. The staff are very friendly and professional and are able to deal with questions, requests, call taxis, etc...The food was great, though, I highly recommend eating at the markets- particularly the Sunday market, which is just around the corner from the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was a treat, and they really have something for everyone on offer. Don't miss the homemade coconut and passion fruit jams!

though conviently located close to inner city ring road De Naga offers calm and relaxing atmosphere due to its backyard noise protection. Kind of private atmosphere created by real boutique style place. Right place for travellers preferring individualty versus hotel chain stereotype.

Quaint Hideaway
Good location, right across from the Main gate to the old city. Lots of restaurants close by.

The rooms were nice, the place was quiet, even being so close to the busy canal streets. The hotel had charactor and looked great. Most all tut tuks knew where it was and that is a help. Close to the night markets was a plus also.

Stayed 3 nights here, enjoyed my stay very much. The staff was very helpful and polite. Plus they spoke understandable english! Location is in a heavy tourist area, which isn't always that great but does provide easy access to lots of restaurants and shops. The food at the breakfast buffet as well as the De naga cafe next door was tasty with a good variety

For a comfortable stay centrally located, the De Naga Hotel is very good. Best breakfast buffet we had in Thailand. Rooms and hotel areas are beautiful, comfortable, and quiet, with use of traditional styles. Excellent service. Not too removed or "upper crust feel," as are some of the boutique hotels east of the Old City.
Shopping Tip:
After crossing the busy road east of the hotel, just south, go east on Loi Khro Road - a great antique shop, on the right after a block or two - they will show you references to shop items in books. Anything from old cow bells to serious stuff.
Best foot massage - the Senior Center one at the "old Mall." 130 baht.

apart from the tiny size of the room, i am very satisfied during the stay. Staffs offers very good services. Location is the strongest point for De Naga. It is in the center of the city (old city) where you can walk and enjoy the city especially the sunday night market.

I had been in a very rustic setting the days prior to arriving at De Naga and was looking forward to my stay in Chiang Mai. After reading the reviews on Agoda I decided to book at De Naga. The hotel is located near the popular west gate and among many of the happening cafes, yet it was tucked away and offered a get away from within.
My room had great amenities and was tastefully decorated. Loved my bathroom and the jacuzzi pool.Staff was always available and very pleasant.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you decide to walk around the moat start early. I started at 6:30 am which beat the heat and I was able to enjoy seeing the sites without the noise and trafic congestion.
