9.3
We stayed at the DaNaga for the week of our engagement. It was a nice small hotel with comfortable rooms, helpful staff and located in a perfect part of town. The pool was small but there's so much to do in and around Chiang Mai that we didn't swim.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
cooking class at Siam Rice cooking school

It was raining when I arrived Chiang Mai Hotel and I wast thinking how am I going to spend the rest of the days. However, when I entered the hotel, the rooms, design, furniture, service and the staff there make suddenly make me feel rain is not a problem. I can stay in the hotel all day feeling so relax and warm welcome by the staff especially the Bell Attendant named "Toi".
Nightlife Tip:
It is just few minutes walking to the Sunday Walking Street.

Excellent Location, Great Hotel!
Centrally located to all walking streets and night bazar, and many other attractions. Staff was very curteous. They had a staff in the lobby to schedule excursions, and she was very helpful, we did all our booking through her.
9.7
De Naga Hotel is a gem. The location is amazing, very close to many bars, restaurants, Thai boxing and more. Very clean, beautifully decorated and an amazing complimentary breakfast. All of the staff was very nice, always smiling and saying hello. I would recommened this hotel to anyone!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Book sightseeing or attractions through the front desk, she's a huge help!

Not as good as it might have been
Good location
Comfortable beds
Pleasing room decor

A relatively frequent visitor to Chiang Mai, I am always keen to check out new hotels, especially the many boutique hotels which have recently opened. I selected the De Naga, largely on account of the excellent reviews on some websites. Unfortunately, I did not pay attention to the more recent reviews, and found the hotel did not quite live up to expectations.
Nestled in a quiet soi very close to Tapae Gate, the De Naga is in an ideal position for exploring the old town, and the Night Market is just 15 minutes walk away. Plus there are plenty of coffee shops and restaurants nearby if you do not wish to dine in the hotel’s two eateries.
Decorated throughout in Thai-style, on first impression the deluxe rooms with their deep red spot-lit wall behind the bed look lovely. I requested and received a room with a large bed which proved extremely comfortable. The bathroom was small although it could have done with a much smaller basin and more shelf space for toiletries etc. Water pressure was excellent for showers, but it took a long time to fill up a bath. The breakfast buffet was adequate but lacked variety. On the plus side, though, eggs are cooked to order.
The hotel does have some other drawbacks. I found the service efficient rather than genuinely friendly. Some of the front rooms on the 2nd floor (basically the Ground Floor) may be a little noisy as guests must pass by outside going to and from the lobby. A major drawback for me, the pool is tiny with only 5 sun beds. If you wish to swim, this hotel is definitely not for you. And if you plan on getting a tan, you will have to work out when the sun actually hits the pool and then get there early.
Rather surprisingly, the room doors are not self-lockable – so you must always remember to physically lock them going in and out. And I do wish there had been just one comfortable armchair in the room to complement the basic one at the desk!
Restaurant Tip:
Moxie, the coffee shop at the d2 Dusit Hotel, is of a very high standard with excellent service and reasonable prices

Chiang Mai Holiday
A modern hotel only two years old with about 70 rooms. The hotel is located on the boundary of the old city and is very conveninet to a large variety of restaurants and night markets. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were very good with personalised service.
9.7
The De Naga is a modern hotel with well trained staff. They also run a training program for youth looking for work and this adds to the personal attention in the restaurant. The hotel is designed as a Thai style building with covered walkways rather than air conditioned corridors. The bathroom was very large and modern and everything worked.
Shopping Tip:
Spend time looking in the smaller shops throughout Chiang Mai rather than the large 'factory outlets'. There is a great deal of variety in price and quality.

Very nice hotel
Good location for Sunday Night walking street, Rachadamnern Road. Very service-mind and helpful staffs. The hotel is not too big and too crowded, very good for quiet family or couple. Easy to go around by red-mini bus, no need to drive. Hotel + room decoration are very beautiful. Free wi-fi in room.

We got a very good price for deluxe room during low season and found out that the hotel is provided good services. The room was fully equiped with LCD television, DVD player and internet wi-fi. The hotel is very close to Sunday Walking Street on Rachadamnern Road. We might not stay there if we didn't plan to go to Sunday night street.

Nice hotel
nice room, free internet, free beer in mini bar, excellent location
8.3
Last time I stayed in Chiang Mai I was in Tamarind Villa and Tri Yaan Na Ros hotels. Both was great. De Naga is also a boutique hotel located inside the old city wall. It has excellent location - 10 min slow walk to night market and very relaxed atmosphere inside the hotel. The breakfast was good, the room is standard decorated for boutique hotels in Chiang Mai - in Lanna style.
The swimming pool is not so big, but it's great to lay near it with lap top (and wree wi-fi) and drink complimentary chiang beer from mini bar.
Hotel staff is helpful
Restaurant Tip:
We really liked the Riverside restaurat (just on the bank of the river) - they have really great food. And also we liked The Spice restaurant with Indian cuisine located on the Night market.
