My favourite Hotel

Not too big, not to small. Friendly helpful staff. Listen to your in house hotel reviews.

This is how all hotels should be. Not to big not too small. This hotel is practically brand new in a quiet street that is central to everything. Excellent value, good food and the staff couldn't do enough for us. The rooms are very stylish, roomy and modern, including a plasma TV connected to satellite TV. I won't even bother looking for a different hotel next time I visit Chiang Mai!!
Travel tip: The taxi/ tuk tuk drivers called this hotel Naga, (if they don't know where De Naga is.)

De Naga

- Good location, good service, nice rooms
8.7
I had a pleasant 4 day stay in the De Naga hotel. It is a relatively small boutique style hotel and the rooms are done up very nicely. Service by the staff is generally good and they are all polite and attentive. The breakfast selection, although not plentiful, is adequate and the home made jams are a must try. The hotel is quite centrally located in the old city and many markets are within walking distance.

A Wonderful Experience

De Naga is a lovely boutique hotel located right in the heart of Chiang Mai city. It is accessible to all the major attractions, from the temples to night markets and weekend markets. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and gave several tips on where to go and what to do. We booked our day tours from the travel agent at the hotel itself. The rooms are perfect for two persons but if you have a family, you might need an extra room. Staff were extremely polite and room service was excellent. Loved the decor and feel of the hotel which had a distinctly fine boutique feel about it. Free wireless and two computers are provided for guests to go online.

It was a lovely experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends for the quality of rooms and service for the priced we got it at. There is even a dipping pool for those who would like to cool off during the day and I liked the overall decor of the hotel, as well as the convenience to attractions.

Nice Hotel, but unstable quality and service

athmosphere location

Nice and well maintained hotel at a good location near to the different wats in the old town. Friendly staff. room service was very bad, cold cheeseburger...the so called speciality of the house and cold club sandwich including cold french fries which had been fried in oil that has been used before to fry fish. breakfast should be more adapted to western style, as 95% of the guests were from the west. My taxi reservation when checking out the last morning got simply forgotten. But at least they were able to bring me to the airport somehow. Think value for money is ok, more would be too expensive. Pool was not looking all that clean and is rather small.

Nothing to complain about

Courteous staff, clean hotel & room, cozy atmosphere, & two free Internet-connected computers
7.7
My family and I stayed in a Grand Deluxe room for three nights. The hotel and staff provided a cozy atmosphere and friendly services for us during our time in Chiang Mai. The hotel is conveniently located near the old city gate, wall and moat, so you can very easily enjoy a nice walk around the surrounding area (so a nice stroll can be had close to the hotel). Furthermore, you can walk for around twenty minutes or take a fifty Baht (after negotiation) taxi or Tuk-tuk ride to reach the ‘Night Barzar’ night market where you can find food, handicrafts, gadgets, etc. The only thing that I would like to mention that you might not like is that you may only be able to see the roofs of houses from the windows in your room, because the hotel is right in a residential area within the old Chiang Mai city wall. That said, I’d still recommend it as a place worth staying.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Find out information regarding trips you want to take from the travel agent booths at Night Brazar, bargain with taxi (tuk-tuk & red cab) drivers no matter where you want to go, try a massage while you’re there. Wishing you a wonderful journey.

Great Chiang Mai Spot

Beautiful hotel and very convenient location as it is within the Old City but near the East Gate making it easy to get to the Night Bazaar.
9.3
We really enjoyed our stay at De Naga. The hotel is extremely aesthetically pleasing, and in such a great location. The included breakfast was perfect and the best of any other hotels we stayed at which included a breakfast. The location could not be better as the hotel is located within the Old City, making it easy to walk around the Old City, but it is also on the perimeter by the East Gate, and walking to the Night Bazaar only takes 7-10 minutes. The room was great, and the price per night on Agoda cannot be beat.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: If you also don't want to ride the elephants or attend an elephant show, because many are abused, check out the Elephant Nature Park, a rescue park for elephants. It was the highlight of our entire trip in Thailand.

Good Experience in Chiang Mai

Overall, a very good hotel for the value. Good hotel, very good staff. Breakfast was good as well.

This was a very good hotel for the value and I would definitely recommend it. The room was clean and modern, including free soda/beer in the refridgerator every day. The breakfast was large and generally well done. The staff of the hotel was very useful and we used the information/travel desk to book all of our transportation and entertainment. They did a very good job. I would defintiely recommend this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: I went to the tiger petting farm...this was entertaining.
