Don't be fooled by the temptation of the 'free' minibar - this involves only two local beers and four soft drinks between two customers - beer costing 27 Baht in the local shops - so in effect, not a real incentive. Breakfast is now offered as buffet style rather than restaurant service.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The night bazaar (10 minute walk) is very tourist oriented but look out for the sunday market - 3 minutes away by the Thapae gate (much more authentic and frequented by locals). A woman sells locally produced Thai fruit wines (20 Baht per glass 180 Baht/bottle) - lovely on a hot evening. You really need to negotiate in advance the prices for taxis, tuk tuks etc as tourists pay a hefty price compared to locals. Avoid the river trip
great start to be in chiang mai!

a new hotel and very nice to stay in.
2 computers to use with internet connection all day for free !
the rooms get cleaned twice a day.
you can borrow some movies to watch from the reciption.
I heard there are more hotels that costs cheaper with the same quality but I didnt look. I dont mind staying again in this hotel, it had a great experience with reasonable price.
I recommend it.
- Shopping Tip : bargain hard. beware that prices might be higher at the night bazzar for some things. they all sell the same material! so bargin in a price range you think it deserves.
This was the best hotel ever!

I almost don't want to rave about this place because I don't want it to get too busy! But you've got to celebrate good energy when you see it. Their management creates a most positive vibe and everyone seems so happy to work there. It's a treat to promote them and I've already turned several friends on to De Naga (which means "dragon").

Overall, if you want a quiet peaceful setting and good service in the old town of Chiang Mai, this has to be one of the best options. A perfect base to explore the town from.
- Restaurant Tip : The French restaurant near the hotel (come out
of the hotel into the soi and turn right) called Cote Jardin has very good French food at reasonable prices.
Glad that I had De Naga to come 'home to'...

Good location. Sunday market is 5 min walk away.
CLose to a busy road, yet you do not get disturb by this when staying at the hotel, only when you like to go for a nice walk - I do not think there are many 'nice' walks to get in Chiang Mai city. Pretty busy, quite dirty and old - ALL SET UP FOR TOURISTS - the city has lost the culture in many ways.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Sunday Market 5 min walk.
