Every time an Agoda customer checks out of a hotel we send them an email asking them to write a review of their stay. This is the only way reviews can be submitted. Every review must then be approved by our content team before being posted on the Agoda website. Therefore, unlike many other travel sites, ALL Agoda reviews are certified and genuine.

The best service one can expect!!
5 minutes from everything in Chiang Mai centre
9.3
this hotel has everything you need of comfort and leisures. if you want a nice walk around in the city you find the old town just a couple of blocks away. the night market is only 5min walk from the hotel as well! swimming pool and fitness centre is also great. breakfast and food in general is of the best (i loved the crispy bacon:)
Nightlife Tip:
The night life in Chiang Mai is nice, but different from night life in Bangkok, Pattaya and Phuket - More relaxed and not so many bars with girls that does anything to attract your attention!

The check-in was rather bad - I had to wait for at least an hour (and arrived between 2 and 3 p.m.)
The room was rather old, the bathroom needs a refreshment and when we would have needed, there was nobody to order a taxi.

We ended up staying at the Empress Hotel because I left it very late to make a booking in Chiang Mai over the New Year period. This was one of the few hotels which still had vacancies for a large family. That said, we were very happy with the hotel and its location. The hotel is clean and well appointed, having most of the facilities you would expect. The only thing which I felt was missing was a coffee maker in the room.
With regard to location the hotel is indeed in a quiet area of Chiang Mai. However, it is only a 10 minute walk or a quick ride in a tuk tuk to the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar.
If ever we are in Chiang Mai again we would happily stay at the Empress Hotel again

quite good hotel however very expensive; big rooms, good Location, I was there during New Year's eve and late dinner was compulsory for the reservation of two night - very poor concert, a lot of food (buffe) and have to pay for all drinks when dinner was also very expensive; after 30 minutes left the party and joined celebrating on the streets in the City,...

Clean but racist staff. Favouritism to whites
4.7
Rude staff
Room not as per requested. We went as couple but was allocated a room with two single beds. We ended up downgraded our room with no compensation of apology. Will not stay there again.
Shopping Tip:
Near nite bazaar
