Very pleasant restaurant and breakfast buffet. Afternoon set tea idea is good. In-room minibar prices very reasonable. And every time I entered the lobby the staff wai greeting very genuine and gave a good feeling. A nice one week stay and I would recommend the hotel to anyone.
Great value

For Thai food in air-conditioned comfort, try nearby Park Hotel, (part of the same chain.) Better still, go out the front door, and stroll down the laneway, past the tailor and massage shops, to Changklan Road. If you cross over and walk about 200 metres to the right, you'll come to a small Thai restaurant with German beer signs out front. The Thai food is cheap and excellent.
- Shopping Tip : Good tailoring at good prices at the Milan Collection, 189/10 Changklan Road. (Walk down the laneway to Changklan Road and turn right for about 150 metres...about 3-4 minute walk.) They take more measurements than other tailors and the result is a better fit.
Superb!

Upon check in they give you a coupon for a free welcome drink in the lobby bar, it's a bit of a scam. You order what you think is offered on the coupon to find out you are being charged (and way too much) for your drink. The coupon is for a tiny little fruit juice, nothing to waste your time for.
- Restaurant Tip : Don't waste your time for the free drink coupon, it's nothing but a tiny little glass of fruit juice.
Good stay for the money

Of course, you can find a less expensive place to stay. However, if the rates are affordable to you, then it's a very good deal. It's only a ten minute walk to the night bazaar. There's another thriving nightlife area (beyond the girlie bars) that would require public transport, but it's not too far. Be careful of the tuk-tuk drivers. They often charge over fair market value to the unknowing foreigners. The little red trucks will take you anywhere in town for only 20 baht. The yellow trucks can cheaply take you to out of town locations. Ask the hotel staff for help. The best upscale shopping is the mall near the airport which has the Robinson's. All the locals know it. Have fun!

Stayed there twice: five days and two days. We returned because we enjoyed the first time very much. My wife especially appreciated the roses on our pillows every night. We recommend this hotel without hesitating. Very good value for the money.
- Shopping Tip : Night market is close by. Internet at 20 baht/hour on the street (better than 120 baht/hour at the hotel).
Worked well for us

Hotel and area quiet.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Took a Thai cooking class at "A Lot of Thai" in Chiang Mai. Highly recommend it. Clean. Family run. Each students gets a cooking station. Cooking stations under covered area next to their house. They provide transportation.
