Great location but slightly tired rooms.
Eurana has a great brealfast buffet and is situated in a very good location. Staff is friendly and helpful.

The hotel has a great little lobby but the rooms need a bit of an upgrade. However, the location is very good, staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool was not usable during our last stay due to an algae outbreak but was very nice on a prevous visit. The hotel is good value and should be considered a good choice for your stay in Chiang Mai.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Instead of getting one of the hotels business cards which are extremely hard to read ( they are all black with tiny type) get the reception to write out the hotel name in Thai with the address. This will help when getting a tuk tuk or cab.

nice hotel for a few nights

its a value for most other places but you can find cheaper in chiang mai. i would still consider staying here again. the breakfast is good, the room clean and comfortable. they went out of their way to provide good internet through out the hotel. the pool is clean but cold. staff is nice and did their best to help us with any need we might have from parking to borrowing a bucket (thats another story). the hotel is close to the night life in cm, which means you are near the night market, near the bar scene, and near things like the cooking schools, but it also means you arent far from the seedier side of chiang mai. eurana is a nice oasis from the dirt that can overwhelm some westerners, even if you pay a little more for it.
Shopping Tip:
the night market is a waste of time, but do go to the weekend market to look for local and one of a kind items.

Older, buggy, cramped rooms, poor layout

the room is tiny and poorly laid out. the bathroom is fine, but the door is just a plastic blind (?!?!?!)
the room was two small beds. the beds are old, but in decent shape. not great, not bad.
the tv was old, but i didn't care. there was a refrigerator.
it is quite a walk to the night bazaar, but certainly doable (i did it twice). it is in the old city, so you are right there.
some of the staff were kind, some were more brusque. they did not mess with thai peasantries (that's bad), and they did seem frustrated by language barrier. overall, i think they were good.
there were lots and lots of insects. ok, it is thailand, but even by thai standard, it was kind of buggy.
warning: this area of chiang mai is *not* thailand. more than half the workers and owners are european, russian, or north american hippies (which is fine, just it isn't thailand). granted, my experience was anecdotal, but even the thais in this area did not act like thais.

The hotel is located in Soi 7 which is just off the main road of the moat. It is close to bars and restaurants and less than 10 minute walk to walking street. Rooms are neat and tidy and the breakfast included was great.

this hotel has a really good position with nice public areas and all the staff were nice. the rooms are fine but our bathroom had extensive mold. we had a really good thai massage inside the hotel but there are many massage places within 100 mts outside. there are many bars and restaurants within just a short stroll. we had a great time and loved the area so would stay again.

its in a good and quiet location, we liked the pool and the open plan areas with gardens. however in our room the hot water was only intermittently available and the air con so loud that we had to switch it off at night. this was in one of the more expensive delux rooms. we asked for an iron and ironing board but none was available. the breakfast was ok but they waited for things to run out before replenishing so we were kept waiting for eggs, pineapple, cereals and other breakfast staples - the management at breakfast needs to be improved. if they arddressed these things it would be really good, as it was we can only rate it as just satisfactory.

the eurana boutique hotel is located in a good area in chiang mai, close to the night bazaar, close to the market, and good restaurants....we can choose to walk or take a tuk tuk wherever we need to go...the shopping is good at the sunday bazaar....the pool is nice and the breakfast is generous and good....many of the tourists that stay here have favourable things to say about the hotel. we extended our stay here as we really are comfortable....rooms may be small for some people but we are good with it.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The Asia Scenic cooking school was a good feature here...only 1000 baht for the whole day....picked up at hotel, taken to the market, the farm and taught all the spices and cooked a variety of meals....highly recommended.
