Cheap place to crash
Five minutes from night market
8
We only stayed here for one night but we were satisfied. It's very simple and decent for the price. The rooms were clean and the shared bathrooms were acceptable. The hotel was only about a five minute walk to the night markets and there are plenty of hotels and bars in the area. If you're just looking for a cheap place to sleep this place is just fine. However, there are signs posted all over the building about being responsible for your valuables, so I'd be careful about leaving anything in the rooms of value.

Friendly guest house
Good price and not so far from night market
7.3
It's just good for sleep. No TV in the room. Boss is very friendly , you can book one day tour or half day tour from then. Tour price in Chiang mai almost the same. So they will pick up and send back to hotel.
Shopping Tip:
Only 10 mins walk to night market

Hotel with Non-privacy Rest Room, No Refrigerator
Clean pillow, and clean bed
5
This hotel is located in quiet-area in Chiangmai Downtown,
I stayed on 4th floor with air conditioning room,
Room is quite small comparing with standard hotel's room,
Anyway, hotel's staffs gave me warm welcome,
I found one problem, no water supply at rest room in the morning about 10:00 AM.
I can't take a bath and also teeth's brushing,
Restaurant Tip:
no so far from the hotel,
there are so many bars, restaurants, and spas around there,
It is so easy for people who like it,

A cheap place to stay that is a short walk from the Night Bazzaar. Very basic room with 1 powerpoint and not the most comfortable bed but still a pleasent visit.

Excellent staff and location

we had a very good stay at huen panicha. we arrived quite late but the staff were still very friendly and accommodating, as they were for the whole of our stay. our room was well decorated, clean, had a lot of cupboard space and featured a balcony with a quite nice view of the city. we were located in walking distance of the night market and the sunday night market (separate locations) and other amenities which was very helpful. we would most definitely recommend a stay!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Try to visit Chiang Mai on a sunday to see the, superior, sunday night market. There is a much higher concentration of original items than at the night market.

The location was kind of far from everyhing, the rooms were ok, but the beds were horrible. The staff cleaned constantly it seemed so the bathrooms were fine, but we stayed one night and would probably rather spend a little more money to get smoething nicer. Not bad, not good, just kind of ok.
Restaurant Tip:
There is a place right around the corner and down the main road that is very Western style with burgers and quesadillas. It has a very funky decor, but I can't remember the name. It is advertised as being top rated, etc. Anyway, the food was really disappointing, so skip it unless you are just drinking and want to enjoy the atmosphere.

Lovely Hosts, good location
Right in the centre of Tourist area- but far enough away you couldnt hear the noise and felt safe
7.7
The Family that run this Hostel are such lovely people, lots of information.
Room was clean, nice and cool at night, with windows open and fan on. Although there were quite a lot of mosquitoes - must of squeezed through the nets.
bathrooms were clean, there was fresh water for free in the fridges for all to use.
the hostel is down a lane off the main shopping and bar road on the way to the old city - close enough to be convenient to all the wats and far enough away that you weren't kept away at night with the noise.
didnt eat here as there are alot of bars/ eateries in the area so cant comment on that
