Couples Australia, March 08, 2013	Nice hotel in a quiet spot, but still close Location, nice garden, quiet environment 6 We choose this hotel as we had elderly parents joining us who got sick after a long flight from Europe. We asked for a quiet room and as the hotel was not very busy, this should be an easy task. Unfortunately they were put in a room two doors down from one that is being renovated, resulting in a noisy day. It is not a major issue, but simple considerations like this often make the difference between average and good hotels.

The rooms surround a decent sized pool set in a pretty garden with plenty of loungers. We loved the colonial style shaded veranda area 8.7 The room was simple, but comfortable and cool with direct access to the pool area. We enjoyed sitting on the antique furniture under the veranda and using the wi-fi. The central location meant we were able to return for a cooling dip in between site-seeing and shopping. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: On Saturday evening take a tuk tuk or songtau down to Wailau Road street market for less crowded alternative to the Sunday walking market.
