Big room but a little bit old.
Link to the shopping center.

It's very good that they gave us early checkin at ~9am,and also a free pickup at the airport at ~8am. Thanks.
Breakfast is ok for us. The shopping center is just an extension of the hotel. Mango Rice in the supermarket is very good at 50B only.
The room is big,and shower force is very good.
We had a tour to Doi Suthep-Buphing_Chiangmai University-downtown, 800B/car through hotel is a little bit expensive. You can get it at 500B I think, if you talk to a red taxi directly.
Shopping Tip:
Shopping center is good. Big supermarket and good Mango rice @50B.
You can find Boots there also.

Returning and repeat travellers.
Old style comfortable Hotel. Very convenient.
6
three of us , in two rooms, for five nights.
the hotel was really full when we arrived, and we could not get our normal rooms overlooking the pool. all rooms have old-style character furnishings, and plenty of room. pity they did not have tea and coffee making facilities, as in the past.
huge strain on breakfast service each morning, as there were several large conferences at hotel.
friendly and helpful staff, and hotel is attached to shopping mall with a central department store and many eating restaurants. mister donut was a great find , with good, reasonably priced coffee and donuts.
whilst we were at hotel there was a visit by princess maha chakri sirindorn to present merit awards to red cross, blood tranfusion recipients. the amount of decorating with banners and the floral arrangements were amazing. great number of police and security service personnel.
this hotel has great swimming pool but note that the pool staff are not at all gracious. very demanding and queried us each time to see if we were staying at hotel or just outside visitors who had to pay bahts per visit. the pool towels were disgustingly tattered and torn and very small. hardly useful as cleaning cloths.
gym was free to hotel guests, but a fee of bahts for use of sauna or steam room.....neither of which was in working order. the shower facilities at gym need new curtains.
overall we had payed a good price and enjoyed the pool facilities. it suitedus to be close to shopping mall. value for money.

Older but nice hotel
just above shopping centre, big swimming pool
7
located just above kad suan kaew shopping centre. old hotel but cleanliness is acceptable. my deluxe room had a separate shower and bathtub. good water pressure. the room was on 11th floor and overlooking the swimming pool. you can walk to the shopping centre without getting wet even on a rainy day. the shopping centre has nothing much interesting to buy but has some restaurants such as sizzler steak, black canyon coffee shop, ice cream shop, pizza hut. also tops super market in the basement.
Hotel Feature Tip:
You can buy a coupon (70 baht per person) for a shuttle bus to the airport. The first one leaves hotel at 6am and every hour. Big modern 10 seater van. If you take tuk tuk by yourself in front of the shopping centre, it costs at around 120baht. Cheaper but no air-conditioning.

Great location but old hotel
Easy to travel to out town n the heart of the city

I think this is quite famous hotel previously in chiang Mai, but now needing some renovation.
The location is very strategic to reach the city center and travel to out town.
When we arrived chiang Mai at lately 10.30 pm the hotel arranged free transportation to
Pick us up of which already requested before leaving Bangkok. this is really meant to us.
Thank you for the hotel. Koph pun khap.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Need some renovation.

Old, smelly, very Thai hotel
close to shopping and hospital
4
I would never have stayed here but a friend was in the C. Mai ram hospital so I choose this hotel as it was close by. The room I was given was large, but there was construction outside my window. Reception did not seem to care. Only 1 staff member spoke English.
This hotel is used mostly for conventions so there are large groups of Thais there.
15 years ago this was probably a nice hotel, but nothing has been done to it since opening.
Breakfast was absolutely awful.

Excellent location, but in need of renovation.
The adjoining shopping center is great for restuarants and cheap shopping
5.7
Overall, the hotel was a disappointment. The rooms are spacious, but in need of renovation. Bedsheets are patched and the carpet warn in places. Hot water was not always available.
It is situated just off the northwest corner of the old city walls, so it's easy to walk to some tourist sites. And the adjoining shopping center is a plus.
I was quite surprised when the free airport pickup service was not free for the return journey!
Overall, a very average place that I would not choose to stay in again.

The rooms were nice and comfortable. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just next to the shopping centre. Great for solo travellers or family. Easy to get

the hotel parking lot was difficult to find. i thought that it should be the same parking lot as central plaza shopping. however, finally, i got there.
the checkin counter were nice and friendly. the hotel is clean and very big. we enjoyed swimming a lot. the temperature in the room could be adjusted not over than 25 c. on that day, there was a rain so it was very cold for us. we had to stop the a/c anyway. the abf was very nice. there were a lot of thing to choose and great tast. overall. i was glad to stay in this hotle
Shopping Tip:
Next to this hotel is Central plaza shopping center

Handy location, good rooms
Reasonable price, included breakfast
8
Poolside towels have become worn-out, overdue for replacement. Pool is huge so great for exercise. No umbrellas around pool so all deckchairs exposed to full sun, also no padding on deckchairs.
Staff friendly and helpful
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We did arranged trips through Hotel tours desk, which gave the same price as outside operators, both of which went as arranged.
Recommend the Baan Thai cooking class, and the one-day Mahout elephant training.
