good location

old wing stairs

The manninarakorn hotel is a very good place to stay, We stay there every time we go to Chiang Mai. It is located afive minutes from the city center and ten minutes to the night bazar by walk. The staff is courto\eous, speaks english and they are always very helpful and knowledgeable of the area. T rooms are nice and clean. In the old wing, one must be careful using the stairs as the celings are low in areas and one can bump their heads pretty good. The breakfast is varied and the food is of good quality. It is easy of access if you are driving and it is a 120-150 baht taxi ride from the airport

Good location

old wing

The manninarakorn hotel is a very nice place, with friendly service, courteous staff. It is relatively easy to get service in english. There is a decent swimming pool. The brakfast buffet is varied and the food is good. The rooms in the hotel section are newwer and comfortable. However, the rooms in the old section are very big, have a living room and two aircon units. It is easy of access and a stone throw away from the city center. Highly recommended for short or extended stays

I enjoyed the stay....clean..lots of room, bedroom, living room and bathroom. The bedroom was large and the bed comfortable. The living room was good...TV package was acceptable. Service at this hotel was excellent with a good buffet breakfast.

The bathroom was poorly designed. It is mystifying why someone would build an advertise an above average hotel and have such a poor bathroom. There was no counter space for a shaving kit and the shower ridge on the floor prevented an easy sit down at the toilet. For some people this problem would be an obstacle for a pleasant constitutional. As well there was no shower curtain

See the above remarks. I might stay here again if the Internet rate was still as low as it was when I booked. The service was very good but, the bathroom facilities were most disappointing. It is also a bit far from the Night Bazzar and the street with the action.

Better room in newer wing. Location is quite close to the Night Bizarre. About a 10 mins walk.

No internet in room. Free internet in the lobby but always down. Don't stay in the cheapest older wing.

We originally booked the older, cheaper wing. During our Check In, the front desk gave us some incense as a gift which made us felt special. But not until we went into our rooms, we knew what happened. The rooms were dark and filled with mosquitoes. Windows were tinted and had small gaps. We changed to the newer wing. The decor is way better, but water in the shower was not consistent and never hot. Just lukewarm to cold throughout our shower. There's better hotels out there for the similar price.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Got to try the White Water Rafting. It was so much fun.

Good location Excellent pool and hotel facilities

Bad plumbing on toilet

Within 5 mins of arriving our toilet had become blocked and we had to phone reception to get it unblocked, a bit embarrassing! Although the pool is beautiful it only gets the sun for a couple of hours on the morning. The breakfast was brilliant with a wide variety of choices available. Ten mins walk from all the main features of chiang mai.

Travel tip : Good tourist information located within the hotel grounds. Although saftey is not a major issue on the bamboo rafting and elephant trekking. Sore knee but great fun!

Hotel location was convenient to Shopping - Our excursions arranged by hotel; helpful staff; good breakfast choices

Room was not comfortable - we were offered alternative but at a higher price

This is a very conveniently located Hotel property next to the main night market and food court on one side as well as the Old Town on the other side; while the Staff were very helpful, we found the condition of the room could do with some improvements - room lighting, plumbing all needed attention and this we had to complain about. However the Breakfast was of the highest standard - delicious, varied and a good choice. I would definitely consider going back here - but ask for better rooms in the main building rather than on remote sites.

Restaurant Tip : A very good Israeli owned Restaurant in the Old Town serving excellent Falafels and Salads - would go there again anytime

Good location, clean and interesting design in rooms. Great staff.

Breakfast

This hotel is close to being great. The room design, while interesting, makes the rooms too small. The breakfast is good but could be great with a few small changes: fresh juice (should not be too hard in Thialand), someone who knows how to cook eggs and bacon, and some yoghurt. I also do ot understand the idea that nescafe is better than freshly brewed coffee. This hotel is almost there.

Shopping Tip : Night market(although repetative) is close to the hotel. Easy walking distance.

5 mins walk away from Night Bazaar. There are travel agencies around.

Only one restaurant.

The hotel was close enough to the Night Bazaar and there is a 7 Eleven supermart directly outside where you can buy your snacks and water supply, etc. There are 4-5 terminals where you can access internet free of charge and there is wireless at the lobby too. There are also many brochures available at a counter where tourists can decide what activities they would like to sign up for.

Location, breakfast included, clean, comfortable.

Very Basic, breakfast buffet was not that great!

This hotel is great if you are looking for something cheap, clean and close to town. The rooms are quirky, for example, our room had a very nice bath tub in the living area. Interesting design, and great location. They do have modern rooms, which are slightly more expensive.

The Maninarakorn Hotel is central being just 10 mins walk from the night bazaar. The terrace room was big with a bedroom, shower room and the strangest sitting/bathroom I have ever seen (The bath is in the sitting room!!!!). It is very overpriced but better than so many of the locally owned hotels in CNX.

This feels like a place owned by someone playing at being a hotel owner... it is very odd. The breakfast was horrible and cold - stick to toast, cereal and maybe the omelet but make sure it is cooked through. The pool is more like a hot tub.

Quite a central hotel but it is very odd indeed. Bathtub in the sitting room! The staff are ok but don't ask for anything as they can not help! No tourist info, no Foreign Exchange, no help with your cases. It is clean and the rooms are to a good standard... overpriced though.

Shopping Tip : Visit the Ban Tawai shopping village... some bargains to be had.

Close to the centre and the night market

Terrace Wing rooms very average quality

We stayed in the Terrace Wing rather than the main hotel which was not ideal. The room was small and dark, slightly cramped and the bed very small. Also, we had no confidence that the front door was stong and secure. Buffet breakfast was of average quality.

It's in a decent location, near the night market (which I thought was overrated anyway). The free breakfast was pretty good, with a mix of Western and Thai food.

Our room was much shantier than the photos (we had a Deluxe room). The picture shows a nice bed in what looks like a very nice room. The reality is a room that resembles a nice prison. Our window wouldn't shut or lock. We received snotty attitudes and an hour run-around.

Our room felt like a hostel with just a little nicer decor. The mattress was old, the linens stained, the towels were sandpaper. We felt the receptionist to be incredibly rude, both during check-in, and when we brought to their attention the fact that our window did not shut or lock. It is really trying to compete with international changes that offer standards Americans and Europeans are used to, but it does not meet this objective. We were interrogated if we took anything from the mini-bar and overall treated like they regretted serving us. This is inappropriate considering there are plenty of other options here in Chiang Mai with great service. I would never go back here.

Large Room. Close to Night Bazar and old city gates.

Breakfast had a large variety of western and asian foods however was not very nice.

We stayed in a deluxe residence room. The room was very large with a seperate living area, bedroom and bathroom. The living area had a large modern spa bath. Service was friendly. They have free internet in the hotel lobby and several tour agents on the lower level of the hotel. Breakfast had a large variety of both Western and Asian foods however was not very nice. Would recomend staying in the deluxe residence. Was a nice change to have a large hotel room.

10-15 min walking distance from night bazaar. the room is very big since it used to be an apartment.

there should be wi-fi also in the room in case of customer who bring their own computer.

i think its very privacy. the room has its own living area which is quite big. the hotel is right in the middle of the popular shopping area, night bazaar. there're computers with wi-fi to serve customers in the lobby area too.

Nightlife Tip : only 10 min walk to night bazaar
