Families with older children United States of America, March 01, 2013	Perfect if you do not want to be in Chiang Mai Peaceful 8.7 It is very important to understand this resort in not actually in the city. In fact, it is a long 20 to 30 minutes from the city, which means a 1,200 Baht round-trip taxi ride every time you wish to visit the city. If your needs include restaurants, buying, and the general conveniences of being in Chiang Mai, this is not the hotel for you. However, if you are looking for a relaxing hotel doing nothing but enjoying a lovely hotel and the peaceful environment, this hotel has much to recommend. Also, if you will be spending more time visiting the Baan Thong Luang (Mae Rim) area, the elephant camps around Chiang Dao area, or the other areas north of Chiang Mai, this hotel is closer to those areas than the downtown Chiang Mai hotels. The front desk staff was extremely helpful arranging taxis and tours, while the rooms were clean and free from mosquitoes. (Friends who stayed in Chiang Mai city noted they were bothered by mosquitoes, so we were pleased not to have to deal with sleepless nights caused by mosquitoes hovering overhead.) The price for the hotel was definitely reasonable, and it met our needs, so we were very pleased with it. Merely be aware that it might be somewhat inconvenient for some people. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: We actually enjoyed the Ban Thong Luang area, though some people have commented on the exploitation of the minority peoples in this village. The area itself is beautiful, and I would say visit it merely for the views if you object to the idea of minority peoples being used for tourist purposes.

Couples United States of America, February 10, 2013	nice place with great service close to the attractions 9.7 if you want a quiet place outside of the city muang gudi is a good place to stay. they are located close to tiger kingdom, elephant safari, the botanical gardens, and the orchid farm. we rented a moto from the hotel and had no problem getting around to all the spots. if you want a natural setting outside the city muang gudi is a good choice. fair price and clean, nice rooms. very friendly and helpful staff. quite. Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: rent a moto and go explore all the area has to offer. cheap, easy, and fun way to get around.
