Beautiful gardens, Immaculate Villas, extremely helpful staff

A long way from Central Chiang Mai and restaurants

located a long way out of Chiang Mai (not far from the Manadrin Oriental) the resort is set in beautiful grounds with individual villas that are nicely laid out, immaculately clean and very spacious. The staff were extremely helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Superb resort if you want to chill out by the pool in total peace and relax. If you want to explore Chiang Mai they can provide a car and driver although this is more expensive than the local taxis. Local restaurants are limited but there is a good selection if you are prepared to travel into Chiang mai itself.

Shopping Tip : Try and visitt he 'walking street' on a sunday evening. It makes the local night market look minescule.

Nice room on the tree. Friendly staff. Lovely family run resort.

A bit far from town

Nice room on the tree. Friendly staff. Lovely family run resort. Good service and good food. There is a small pool and it is possible to cycle. Unfortunately it was raining. So we could not do much there.

Breakfast was fabulous! You could order just about anything off the menu. The omeletes were delicious! The service was excellent! The day we arrived we were greeted with a bowl of fresh fruit and drinks. Then Pumpe, the owner asked us if we were still hungry and brought us cheese sandwiches. We were upgraded the first day and then upgraded again the 2nd night to a room with a balcony. The staff would come with umbrellas to get us if it was raining so we wouldn't get wet! We left Chiang Mai to go up to Chiang Rai for a few days and I asked if we could have the same rate when we got back. The owners' sister said she would speak with Pumpse and see what they could do. They ended up discounting what we were paying. When we returned we were picked up from the bus and Pumpse surprised us with a dinner, including soup, pad thai, chicken with cashews, and a wonderful fruit and custard dessert because they knew it was out 20th anniversary! Pumpse had been a chef at a 5 star restaurant in Holland and the food was fabulous! The surprise was a highlight of our trip! When we arrived we were told this is your new home and when we left to fly to Bangkok, we felt like we were leaving home! Pumpse took us to the airport and didn't leave until she was sure we had gone through security. She even called the next day to make sure we made it to Bangkok. The grounds around the hotel were beautiful. Breakfast was served overlooking a lovely pond with tropical flowers. The internet service was free. I would highly recommend this hotel!

The only problem with the hotel is the distance from the city and from different attractions like the elephant camp. We ended up spending a lot of money on drivers.

We stayed at the Oriental Siam Resort in Chiang Mai for four nights at the end of June, and left to go to Chiang Rai for two nights and returned for the fifth night. The hotel was only two years old. The grounds around the pool and the tropical garden in the breakfast area were well maintained and quite lovely. The service at the hotel was exceptional! Nothing was too much for the owners. When we arrived we were greeted with a delicious fruit platter and cold drinks. After that, Pumpse, the owner asked if were hungry and brought us sandwiches. Breakfast was fabulous! You could order just about anything off the menu. The omeletes were delicious! We were upgraded the first day and then upgraded again the second day! They told us when we arrived that this was our new home and it was beginning to feel like it. The staff would come to our room with umbrellas when it rained so we wouldn't get wet. We left for Chiang Rai for a few days and asked if we could have the room for the same rate when we returned. They ended up discounting that rate! We were picked up from the bus when we returned and surprised with a delicious dinner of soup, pad thai, chicken with cashews, and a heavenly fruit and custard dessert covered with orchids, This surprise was for our 20th anniversary. Then the staff sang to us. Pumse, the owner had been a chef at a 5 star restaurant in Holland and the food was fabulous! The surprise was a highlight of our trip! When we left Pumpse took us to the airport and didn't leave until she was sure we had gone through security. She even called us the next day to make sure we made it to Bangkok . Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Elephant Camp and Tiger Kingdom in Chiang Mai were fantastic! It was amazing riding the elephant in the jungle. We were able to hold a tiger cub in our lap at the Tiger Kingdom. What an incredible experience!
