Beautiful hillviews from this lovely hotel with tastfully furnished spacious room. Breakfast is nice enough with lovey bread and porridge. Hotel uses only organic products :-) It was nice waking up to a symphony of bird songs and checking out the buffolos walking past
There is however no free wifi in the room and the free wifi at the lobby has very poor reception. The staff command of English is poor and they are not well trained though generally pleasant eg Very poor product knowledge at the tour desk, the cook tried to serve "prefried eggs" to guests, and one staff even came to the breakfast line and put his HAND into the bread basket and help himself to a slice of banana bread!
Location of the hotel is secluded and you need to pay 800 baht for a one way transfer into the city. There is only one restaurant at the hotel so meal choices can be rather limited

Amazing spa hotel

this hotel is the perfect if you want to relax and treat yourself. the spa is amazing and the whole hotel which is situated on a hill, surprises with many features like a meditation cave, a pool, an open air gym and most importantly an amazing view on the surrounding mountains. the rooms are luxurious with an open bathroom enabling you to watch tv while taking a bath. nevertheless this hotel is purely for relaxing (don't take children with you) since there isn't much else arround then the spa area.

Way too far out; Terrible service

we were incredibly disappointed with our stay at this hotel. location: it is very far from chiang mai the city. it takes over an hour to get to chiang mai. they charge about 1000 thb to call a taxi from the city to come pick you up at the hotel (one way), and several taxis do not want to drive out there anyway. if you stay here, it is important to have your own car. there is a shuttle, however when we were there, the shuttle only went into town once per day and returned once per day. this is unacceptable for a hotel that is so far out. and the shuttle is an extra 500 thb per person per way. we then asked for a different room location. only when they were faced with a potential upgrade (even though there were plenty of open rooms). we also had a terrible time trying to connect to their internet. they claimed to have free internet wifi in the lobby, however after 3 attempts at helping me set up the internet, and only when i asked if i could get free internet in my room (where the connection showed up correctly) if they did not get it to work in the lobby, were they finally able to figure their system out -- this took about 4 hours. food: the food was good and the service in the restaurant was very good. the breakfast buffet was ok. ambiance: the setting truly is magical, and this could be a good place for a couple to stay for one night to escape the city and have a relaxing spa experience. i do not think this is good for families, or people looking to stay here long periods of time. overall, our experience here was so terrible, that i can not recommend this hotel to anyone and i will never stay at another panviman.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Don't stay here. Also, the rooms were incredibly damp (a common problem with Thailand hotels), but to the point that the bedding felt wet and the room had a musty smell.

perhaps the best location for a resort in mae sail. the incredible views combined with the stylish but tasteful decor set this place apart. remote and quiet, come here to stay and not to venture beyond. the spa is first class and the ambience is absolutely perfect, what you picture a spa in chiang mai should be. hotel staff is attentive and well trained.

Everything you can expect from a 4/5 star resort.
It was just bliss, after the 'crazyness' from Chiang Mai it was a great get a way.
Food was delicious, pool was awesome.
Only one thing, book spa dates as soon as possible. We tried to book in the morning and it was full.
Something they should mention upon arrival.
