Good service, friendly staff, clean hotel, not a bad stay. A bit far (unless you stay for the Sunday market). Internet was a bit off - limited usage.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you're not the person to plan ahead, don't. There are so many tours that are offered around the area, it might be a good idea to shop around.
Nightlife is mostly located in the Night Bazaar, so find a hotel there if you plan on going out at night.

Beautiful place and great location
8
really nice staff. good breakfast sets. great location. lots of temples around to see. lots of good cheap restaurants. also lots of massage places around. busy during day, quiet at night. but there are areas with nightlife if you are looking for that
Restaurant Tip:
great place just across street from hotel. it's open for lunch and dinner. PACKED with locals and foreigners at dinner. lunch is cheaper than dinner.

Beautiful place and great location
8.3
the staff is really nice, there is free wifi and it's in a great location in the middle of downtown
Restaurant Tip:
right next door/across the street is a very highly recommended Thai place to eat. they have great Thai food at good prices, it's clean but still has a "thai" feel to it. the place is PACKED everynight. lunch is cheaper than dinner.

Exceeded Expectations and great location

This hotel is a gem in the rough. If you are are looking for fancy place with all the frills - this isn't it - but if you want a clean, nice room with a great staff and location then this is the place for you.
Nim went out of her way to make our stay easy. My husband had an urgent conference call and we couldn't get our phone to work so she let us use her personal phone. She also helped arrange tours, massage, places to eat and overall was really attentive in making sure all our needs were met. We have traveled a lot in Asia and this was top notch service.
We had the french toast for breakfast and it was YUMMY!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Flight of the Gibbons - pretty cool to try

Good night's sleep, great sight-seeing location
Located right next to 2 wats.
8.3
the hotel was clean, comfortable, and had a great location for us, as we were interested in sight-seeing. was located right next to 2 wats/temples.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Be sure to visit the beautiful temples just next to the hotel, and then continue down the street, seeing more temples on the way.

Nothing bad to say about this nice hotel
Great location, lovely room, personable friendly staff and owner!
9.7
i recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel with my three grown daughters. if you get the chance i highly recommend staying here. not only was our room clean and nice sized, it was painted in a beautiful traditional thai way. ask for room # 301. i noticed that other rooms were not as decorated as this one. the staff was friendly and extremely helpful when it came to answering all of the typical tourist type questions. location worked well for us. it is walking distance to the night market as well as many of the temples. restaurants are abundant in this neighborhood. breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was good as well. i would stay there again in a heartbeat!

short but nice.
you can rent a bike and ride it around chiang mai or just walk around, checking all the temples and picturesque streets. don't forget to have a look at night bazaar.
if you are going from bangkok to chiang mai, stop at ayutthaya and rent a motorbike there. then, around 9pm take the night train to chiang mai (second class cabin are ok).
khantoke dinner is not that good.

location in the backpacker area the old city
if you like the backpaker people, then the location is perfect
3
The hotel is location in the old city, a place 'infested' with tourists and backpackers. the hotel personnel are not very helpful and even refused to help me booking a dinner table at a restaurant.
there is wifi.
the restaurant personel are the less hygienic I ever seen, the their performance is terrible .. the breakfast is also bad. skip it.
Restaurant Tip:
Go to "The good view" restaurant by the river - tuk tuk only takes 5 minutes and costs around 30 bath per person.
Good thai food and cheap.

Great location - beautiful rooms
9
The Parasol inn is located right in the middle of the old city in Chiang Mai, absolutely ideal from a tourist viewpoint. Right next door to a beautiful old temple and in the middle of the "Sunday walking market" area. (This market is a MUST - every Sunday night - unbelievable low prices and incredible stuff to buy and see)The staff at the hotel are great and the rooms particularly beautiful. Great value for money. Only negative is the adjoining restaurant (where you have included breakfast) is very limited and really not great - but there are many places close by - I recommend "The green Mango" a few blocks towards the south gate.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Check out the Sunday walking market and the Night Bazaar.
